I think Malkin is more like Lemieux than Ovechkin. Ovechkin is his own type . These are interesting times.. the past 10 years have basically been the post Gretzky/Lemieux years.. now we're in the Crosby/Ovechkin/Malkin years.. Malkin's 1.19 pts/gm come from the 2nd line. When Crosby was out, he was, I think, over 1.60 pts/gm (but anyone can have a hot month..). When Crosby's in the lineup, he plays about a minute less than Crosby (~5%). After seeing a replay of a shift where Crosby lost his stick, fought of TWO guys for the puck, then got his stick back with control of the puck.. I find it hard to question how hard he plays

Someone on the ESPN site wrote "if he were really that good, Detroit would have drafted him" a la zetterberg (rd 7), datsyuk (rd 6), holmstrom (rd 10)...

I think the same can be said for Ovechkin's goal (the one from his back). Both just desperation "i might as well take a whack at it" goals

ggs these were fun games, lots of action.. roy made a huge glove save at one point, with his go-go-gadget arm.. tick made one of the best GC reads/saves i've ever seen on a onetimer.. i scored a goal from along the goal line, i guess the post's gravity curved it into the net

I too have used the Rangers in the past : ( Gartner is their whole team.. Leetch is ok, but doesn't live up to his stats, and the rest are pretty useless.

Unless i read the teams wrong, you're both only supposed to have 2 games against each other. You're in different divisions (the website currently only shows the conferences, not the divisions -- i'll get around to it.. eventually..)

ggs first game was quite a battle.. OT loss second game.. not so much sebe's superior goalie control did me in

The problem was that there were two teams in the ROM with the abbreviation "MIN". It messed up the player list since they were all being put on one team, then all the other teams were moved up one index (so the NYR players were on team 10 (MTL) instead of 11 (NYR)). I fixed the problem in the db. The ROM doesn't need to be changed. Change it next year, though...

The winner should make the save state -- obviously they have the most interest in successfully logging the game.
