    Game Stitcher

The program has been updated to fix a bug (penalty summary wasn't quite right). Should be all good now!

    Game Stitcher

Attached is a program I made that stitches together 3 nhl94 savestates. NHL94_game_stitcher1.4.zip It's for use when you're playing a game and get disconnected/desynched. You can use 3 savestates to make one savestate that represents your full real game, so all your stats are preserved. Most Recent Update: Version 1.4, November 3, 2011 Gets correct +/- data Gets correct Time On Ice data (well, close to correct) Gets correct Peak Crowd Level The Idea: The "formula" is this: stitched_save = save1 + (save3 - save2) save1: a savestate from when your game desynched. save2: a savestate from the replayed game that has the same score as save1 and approximately the same time left. save3: the savestate from the end of the replayed game. stitched_save: a new savestate you can upload to the website. So, if you had 10 checks when the game was disconnected, then replayed the game, but had only 5 checks at the point where yiu started playing for real again, and ended up with 25 checks, this program will output a savestate where you have 30 checks (10 + (25-5) = 30). It will also fix up the scoring summary so you get all the right assists, etc. Instructions/process: 1. Oh no! My game got disconnected when it was 5-4 half-way through the 2nd period, whatever will I do? 2. MAKE A SAVESTATE when the game desynchs. Take note of the current score, time remaining, and who had the puck (which coach). Hit the F7 key to set gens to the next saveslot, so you don't save over this savestate. Better yet, go and make a copy of the savestate for safekeeping. 3. Replay the game up to the time it got disconnected last time, scoring the appropriate number of goals. Don't worry about who scores them -- the stitcher will take care of it! But you have to have the same score as when the game was disconnected. 4. Make another savestave -- this will be the reference point for stitching the games together. DON'T SAVE OVER THE ORIGINAL! Hit the F7 key to set gens to the next saveslot, so you don't save over this savestate. Better yet, go and make a copy of the savestate for safekeeping. 5. Once the time is approximately what it was when the game disconnected last time, start playing for real and finish the game! Give the puck to the coach who had it when the game disconnected. 6. At the end of the game, make yet another savestate. DON'T SAVE OVER THE OTHER ONES! 7. Put Gamestitcher1.4.exe in the same folder as your savestates 8. Doubleclick GameStitcher1.4.exe 9. Enter the length of periods you are using, in minutes. For example, 5. 10. Enter the names of the three savestates, one at a time 11. Enter a name for the output file, such as "out.gs0" 12. The games should get stitched together and output. 13. Load the stitched savestate in gens just to verify that it stitched properly. 14. If all is good, upload to the website! --- This game was stitched with version 1.4: http://www.blitz94.com/boxscore.asp?gameid=3860 Download: NHL94_game_stitcher1.4.zip Old version: NHL94_game_stitcher1.3.zip
  4. Don't forget to include Ties/OTL points in the win% (guess it should be called pts%)
  5. The sweetness.. I can't handle it all!
  6. Updates at end of thread ------------------------------------- See attached picture. Rankings are based by win percentage. (oops, i called it 'pts/gm' in the picture..) In the West, a winning streak or losing streak for skoolyard, tesslog, takeyoupill, dmac and smozoma could mean the difference between making or missing the playoffs.. every game counts and one unlucky guy will be left out! DaDonch still has a shot, too. In the East, it looks like the battle for 8th is between mike and matt, maybe monkeyjuice as well. Could kgman break into the top 4 in the east to get home ice advantage? It looks like scribe and vocally caged will need to battle it out to avoid a first round matchup with kgman, who has a 19-12-0 record since taking over as coach of the Devils (0.613 winning ratio).
  7. Hi, There is a thread dedicated to this topic here: http://nhl94.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=3242 And here is a list of players: http://www.nhl94online.com/html/online_pla...NEW.php?lg=gens You'll also need to get AIM ( http://www.aim.com/ ) if you don't have it already, since that's the instant messenger that the NHL94 community uses to set up games. If you don't want to install AIM (boo AOL..), you can just get a screen name by clicking the link near the top right of the AIM page, then use http://www.meebo.com to log on and talk to people. As for this particular league ("GENS Draft League"), you'll have to wait until the next season for a chance to join.
  8. That would be the most heroic hack ever.. I don't think it'll ever happen without the source code.
  9. I think we can see who came out on top in the sportsmanship department
  10. The waiting list should probably be kept on the league website (for future seasons..). So it's all official-like.
  11. If you right-click and do "save as" you get "index.php" as the file name, but if you rename it to whatever.bin, it's fine. If you just click it normally, it'll give you the file. That's how it's working for me anyway.
  12. Ah, it finally makes sense.. And I agree, that picture is WAY too big for a sig pic.
  13. Firefox plugin that uncensors words: http://www.ironicsans.com/2007/04/idea_unc...e_internet.html (near the bottom of the article, "standalone plug-in" link)
  14. Options -> Directories To find where they are saving, do File->"Load State..." -- it'll bring up a file selection window in the same directory it saves to
  15. http://www.cbc.ca/technology/story/2007/04...nce-planet.html (emphasis added by me)
  16. The planet is 20.5 light years away, has a mass about 5 times that of the Earth (one of the smallest extra-solar planets discovered so far), has a diameter diameter not too much bigger than the Earth maybe 1.5 times, and has an average temperature somewhere between 0ºC and 40ºC (32F to (guessing) ~120F). I haven't heard anything about water on the planet, but I suppose it's a possibility.
  17. I'm am pretty sure the Checking rating is for AI. It represents how frequently an AI player will check. If you play against Boston, watch Ray Bourque (99 checking rating). He will destroy your guys repeatedly, even when they don't have the puck.
  18. I recently retired my Sega Genesis console, but I never noticed a difference between the emulated game and the console game. The reason people put bure, selanne, fleury, etc at centre is because they are better scorers and are harder to body check. The checking is based one weight: the lower the weight of the player, the harder they are the knock over, and the better they are at checking other players.
  19. When a goalie scores, the game gives him an extra goal against and an extra shot against, which is why the goal doesnt' show up in the goalie's stats. It's a bug.
  20. I think I've seen this before a few times.. quite a while ago, though
  21. Try this (see attached picture)
  22. Click the text at the top: "remember that feeling? click to enter" Or go here: http://www.macks-hacks.com/home.htm
  23. If your video is AVI, you can fix the sound in Virtualdub (http://virtualdub.org) (From memory, could be a bit off:) In the Sound menu, go to Streams to bring up the sound streams window. Right-click the sound stream and select "interleaving". In the interleaving window, set the sound delay offset (or something like that) to some number of milliseconds to try to get the sound to synch up. I think you need a value of around -5000ms (i think negative makes the sound earlier).
