  1. Maybe a wire came loose? If you open up the controller, you may be able to see if it was soldered onto one of the retrozone USB kits. They have the wiring diagram, so you can possibly solder it back if you're comfortable doing that (assuming that's the problem). http://www.retrousb.com/product_info.php?cPath=21&products_id=45
  2. I bought two at different times on eBay a while back -- I think they were $15 each w/shipping. Not cheap, but these suckers last...within reason. Well built, imo, for a controller. You can open them up, clean them, put them back together easily and they're good as new! As for authenticity, I guess it's always a risk, but you should be able to tell from seller, picture, and price (~$15).
  3. Me too, and it's some of the best players out there! If you're serious, PM me and we'll figure it out. Yup, that's what I'm using, with this particular controller:
  4. Sounds good -- see you then.
  5. Hey dude -- didn't see or hear from you. I can pretty much play any night after 9 p.m. If that doesn't work, I can probably do something Saturday, just let me know.
  6. Just played a couple of games with beat2life. Ggs, cool dude, glad to have guys like him around. Hit me up for exhibs whenever!
  7. Yeah, that's my controller of choice as well. Note, there are two 6-button controllers. One has the turbo feature. I prefer the one without turbo, it's slightly bigger and the d-pad is tighter, much like the original 3 button The turbo d-pad is really soft and loose. Best way I can describe it.
  8. Glad to hear you are up and running. Score anyway you can, there are no cheap goals. The consensus on the cheesiest way to score is the crease-cut, where you take your player to one corner, come across and as you start to shoot, the goalie goes down WAY too early and you put it away in the wide open net. However, even that is perfectly acceptable as you can defend against it. Don't worry about hacks...both players have to be using the same exact ROM for online play to work. I hope to see you on AIM...my screenname is: kingraph
  9. Didn't see you today...you mean Wednesday? 7 might be a little early for me, I'll try to be on...if you can do 8:30ish, would be better.
  10. I think I remember smoz saying he already has a title picture that he likes. My guess was Bure, given the records achieved last season, albeit "B" league.
  11. If the solution that Chaos linked to doesn't work, this may also be an option to try: http://www.gens.me/faq.html A : Graphics cards use several types of internal 16bit rendering engines, some use 555 mode (eg ATi Rage Pro) whilst others use 565 mode (eg NVidea TNT2). Gens automatically tries to detect which graphics standard your video card uses, unfortunately it doesn't always get it right. If the palette is all wrong on your system you can force Gens to use the correct video mode by editing the Gens.cfg file. Open the file with Notepad and under the [graphics] section add one of the following commands until the problem is corrected: Force 555=1 Force 565=1 Oh, and let us know your AIM screenname so when you do straighten this out you can play some exhibition games!
  12. Over/Under on "NY/NJ 1994 Eastern Conference Finals references/clips during series": 17.5 (-110) If it goes to game 7: 437 (-110)
  13. Tonight after the Ranger game? If that's too late, then tomorrow at 10 est?
  14. Kind of wish you hadn't said that judging by your past performance. Rangers in 5
  15. CHI or not, that's an impressive win over Zalex. Good job Wookie!
  16. Is this xdbx? You the man...looks like you generated some serious interest there. In a related note, I was at a training event for work a couple of days ago, chatted with a colleague from Toronto, mentioned 94 and he was all over it! Lol, I sent him the info...he seemed excited. Also, I was talking to a guy from St.Louis and his sons hockey coach is none other than ...... Al Macinnis!
  17. YES! Thank you! Not sure why that is set like that, but in case anybody else has that problem, here's a screenshot of what trudatman described:
  18. I'm not sure if you're being sarcastic. So all we have to do is convince EA, The Pittsburgh Penguins Organization, Mario Lemieux himself, The Consol Energy Center, various journalists and gaming press to fork up some cash, and watch a bunch of guys play NHL'94 in a corporate box for a few hours, for some good publicity? I feel better playing the lottery. Sorry Robbie, that's quite a stretch.
  19. Trying to set up and coordinate a large-scale, multi-day event like Robbie is talking about would require a LOT of time, effort, money and resources from a few people. Also, as crazy as it may seem to us, most people will not be willing to spend their free time and money for a weekend trip including hotel to play NHL'94. While I'd LOVE to see that happen, I don't know if we (the '94 community) have that available. Pooling our resources is an idea, but there still needs to be one leader dedicated to putting in a lot of work -- i.e. dedicating a few months to do this... Just some quick notes from the top of my head: * Human Resources - Head Organizer - Asst. Organizers - Staff/administrative team a. Promotion b. Referees/Coordinators c. Fundraisers * The Tournament - size/duration - rules - location/facility - prizes (from sponsors?) - fees * Sponsorships - EA - NHL/Local hockey team - Local businesses I'm sure I'm missing some things, but at least it's a place to start. I think people actually get paid to do this, lol, so for "us" (the community), to seriously accomplish this would be impressive to say the least. A smaller-scale tournament with 20-30 people seems a lot more plausible. Maybe there is a retro-gaming tournament or modern NHL game tournaments that could be incorporated. Anyway, my two cents...
  20. I updated my original post with the following: Updated results through Spring'12 Classic New charts showing team ranks by each classic season New Calculated Overall Team Ratings Individual Player Ratings (top 200) Appendix Reformatted using forum code (no MS Word)
  21. What happened to the other topics in the BoKnows everything forum???
  22. He played his classic series against Zalex this past Saturday. He's fine.
  23. For the HABS sportsbook, I put $200 on BoKnows, I like those odds, and $800 on HABS himself. Here's the summary from the 3 who have put up odds. HABS and I have the same order, while DC has a different mix for the top 5. Order is sorted by average of the three.
