Our Etiquette Guide says, "Goal after the whistle: At the end of a play that would result in an ensuing penalty shot, if you shoot the puck during the stoppage (before the penalty shot), the puck will go in the net and score. Good sportsman on your part to pull your goalie and give up the equalizer goal, however you would have had a penalty shot that you no longer have. I can only hope this never happens on a game-winning or OT goal! Hopefully both players agree to a redo, but at the end of the day if it happens, you may just have to deal with it as part of the game."

You probably had a breakaway, penalty called for a penalty shot. When a penalty shot is called and the whistle blows to end the play, if you manage to shoot the puck in the goal during the few seconds after the whistle, it will just go in and skip the penalty shot altogether. Bad bug. Particularly in OT! What makes this play more wacky is that the play ended by Belfour killing Craven and puck trickling in the goal.

That was quick! Thanks for finishing out the series guys. VC came on strong and won the next two, forcing a game 7, but ultimately Houli held on to win. Tough series and Houli had to use both BUF and CHI home/away, plus DET/BOS/&VAN to get the victory. Houli is slated to play Carse now. Houli is the higher seed, and will get home ice. Yes, you're right. Please replay those games and use the 18 teams that are available to you. Remember, when inputting, click on the dropdown box when selecting the teams, so you won't make that error. The only way you were able to input "WPG" was by typing it in directly. While this still works for the teams you can use, it can cause mistakes. First of all, congratulations on the birth of your son! There's a few dads in this community (including Robbie and myself), so we understand what's its like. The classic admins (Halifax/Chaos/Robbie) try their best to make the league run smoothly, which mainly means getting everyone to play their games against each other. Usually, it's not too difficult at the start of the season to get some games in as you can play anyone in your league, so I'm surprised it's been difficult for you to find opponents. We all have different schedules and timezones, but ultimately we can make it work. We have guys in France and Finland who complete their seasons! The unfortunate part is that every season there are people who quit, disappear, etc. and need to be replaced. It's hard to determine, particularly in the C division, who has left. The best thing to do, as you have started to do, is be active on the forums and/or to the admins. If you're having trouble finding games just by logging on to AIM, I recommend posting your availability in the "schedule a game" section. It will help other players know when to catch you, and let the admins know that you're still playing. Sorry for hijacking this post ( )...but the last thing I like to see is new players getting frustrated and quitting. This is a great, fun, and active community! I guess I'm more concerned about the time -- in the old way, you can start making trade ideas for protection picks, etc. as it goes. Now, with everything happening all at once upfront, I just don't know if 24hrs is enough time to deal around.

No, you have to choose a person from your team to protect (like a "keeper"). Also, you wouldn't know who everybody protected until all the picks have been made. Then it's revealed...sort of like we all pick at once. Disregard the draft order for protection rounds. For this year, after the 1st round, you'll be given a list of your current players that weren't selected in the 1st round, and which round you can choose to protect them, based on prior drafts. Then you make all your keepers up front.

Will there be a trade window before we have to make our 2/4/6/8/10/12 protection picks? Since we're doing it all upfront, there might be a lot of potential trading going on since we'll have half of our players. Or we'll know if we have a protection pick that we'd rather not use (clean house!) Speaking of, will we still be able to trade for a protection pick? So after the 1st round I can say something like I trade my 5th pick (5.xx) to someone for their 4th protect?

As we can see from the game details, we still have two open series left to be played. Wookie (3) and RWD (6) have not played any games, have not posted on the forums their availability or reasons for the delay. Wookie let me know that they were supposed to be on Thursday, but RWD was not on. Have you guys figured this out? Vocally Caged (7) & Houli (2) have gotten 3 games into their series, and Houli currently leads the series 2-1. Please let us know when you plan on completing your series! there's a draft for new players? how will that work (i.e. salaries?)

My apologies guys, there was an error in the initial spreadsheet with the selection of teams (my fault for rushing!). Thanks to PRoBob and smozoma for noticing it and letting me know. Most notably Detroit was not available, while St. Louis was. Freydey used St. Louis already, and I think the easiest and fairest thing to do is to take away SJ/WSH/NYI/NJ/HTF instead. I'll let Frey decide. I've chosen SJ as a placeholder. The other games played all used teams that were supposed to be there. I understand that you may not have seen DET available, but since you played the games fairly, and both coaches didn't have DET available, and nobody noticed it, we continue on. It's all been updated. Sorry again, and good luck to the rest of you guys.

Do you still have to be under $50 if you make a trade? Or does the cap increase/decrease? So if I trade a $4 million a year player for a $5 million, does my cap go up a million or do we switch salaries or do I have to drop another player? Yet more questions...

I hear the same thing -- if you agree with your opponent to use Kega, then go for it. Otherwise, since GENS "works", it's not worth hassle and confusion of getting the entire community to switch over.

I'm assuming that we're all watching our own caps and not bidding on players we can't afford. As VC stated, you need to have 6F, 4D, and 2G, so you should leave $0.5M for each remaining spot to fill. Then again, VC said that this would be "Just weight bug fixed", but it's NOT. He told me we're using the Blitz checking formula.

Robbie should say: I pick up WSH and drop DET. Cities only. Then Dcicon can say: I pick up DET and drop LA. Cities only. Then Robbie, if you decide to, can say: I pick up LA and drop WSH
