  1. Remember that FLA and WSH are open, nobody has them, if you want to change NYI.
  2. That's true, I inherited BUF last season and switched to DAL
  3. I call dibs on the NYR, I'm currently Dallas.
  4. Great idea -- especially when you play 100's of games a year. Weight bug makes a big difference, so the lineups would have to be completely changed.
  5. I like all of these guys, lol. Welcome to the league!
  6. I see some players have been nabbed already (Gartner, Kasatonov, etc) -- so I guess the 24hrs applies right away?
  7. The time is just made up for now (but you can take the timestamp from the forums). This can be updated regularly by the latest bid, so people can look on the bottom and see if time is running out to bid on a player.
  8. Is this for real? Can it be announced and then that player is closed for bidding? Like, a new thread called "SIGNED" or something that shows what players went, to whom and the terms of the contract. I'm nervous that this is getting out of control and that there are some coaches who have not signed in to the bidding forums yet.
  9. Will there be a place to track current rosters and salary? Also, I assume you can't have increasing contracts? I.e...jagr, 8,10,12,15,15 mil for years 1-5 (60 mil total)?
  10. There will be one document for the playoffs (both East & West). The playoff webpage is: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/pub?key=0AsGAzpWFo9T7dEhuRE9US1ZaRmV5OWItSUZYcG1vYUE&output=html This document will show you: * The current playoff matchups * Playoff tree * List of available teams by coach * Individual Coach Pages I suggest you use the webpage to gather information and check out for updates. To INPUT scores, you should use the spreadsheet. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AsGAzpWFo9T7dEhuRE9US1ZaRmV5OWItSUZYcG1vYUE#gid=1 Note: See the "gid=1" at the end of the URL? Well, I found out that is the sheet that the workbook will open in. So, I've conveniently laid out which sheet belongs to which coach, so if you are bookmarking this url, you should bookmark your own link, so the spreadsheet opens to your page. No need to navigate. Link to LOG SCORES by individual coach: KingRaph Freydey Wookie smozoma PRoBob RedWingDevil dcicon5148 IceStorm Houli Carse kupuck BoKnows Pearate Vocally Caged Note: I will be updating your individual pages with 2nd round games when they are known. Remember, you log YOUR HOME GAMES only. Your opponent should log your away. You should only change what is in the GREEN cells. Good luck to all!
  11. While I hate to use the word complain, I'd kindly request that we postpone the bidding by at least a day as well.
  12. The regular season is over! We finished the season with 560 games played in total, an average of 28 games each! Special thanks goes out to the following people who managed to get all 36 games played...you guys rock: * kupuck19 * Pearate * JayLighter420 All West Division guys! According to the aggregated team results (link here), the top 3 best and worst teams were: TOP 3 1. NYI (21-10 .677) 2. TB (21-11 .656) 3. CHI (13-9 .591) BOTTOM 3 1. BUF (8-20 .286) 2. VAN (9-16 .360) 3. DET (10-16 .385) So that settles the debate on which teams are the best/worst. Actually, this most likely results from the fact that most people seem to have selected stronger teams to play against stronger coaches, and vice versa. It suggests, and correctly so, that a players ability will overcome any gap in team strength. Remember, this survivor league was open to all, and resulted in a mix of A, B and even C players! On to the playoffs... Congratulations to IceStorm (21-3, 42 pts) for winning the West and to KingRaph (28-8, 56pts) for winning the East! We'll get the bye week to start. The remaining matchups are as follows: EAST 1. KingRaph vs 8. Bye 2. Freydey vs 7. dcicon5148 3. Wookie vs 6. RedWingDevil 4. smozoma vs 5. PRoBob WEST 1. IceStorm vs 8. Bye 2. Houli vs 7. Vocally Caged 3. Carse vs 6. Pearate 4. kupuck vs 5. BoKnows You play a best of 7 series. Remember, your available teams reset to start the playoffs and you can use each team for 1 home and 1 away game for the remainder of the playoffs. Use your good teams to get past the first round and you won't have them later! The playoffs are set like a tournament bracket, with no reseeding. Winner of 1/8 plays winner of 4/5, 2/7 plays 3/6. Higher seed gets home ice. For the Stanley Cup (East Champ vs West Champ), the team with the most points in the regular season gets the home ice, with a GFA-GAA tiebreaker. I will have the playoff google doc up later today (sorry for the delay -- real work getting in the way...hate when that happens), but you can play your matchups asap. Just take note of your teams as well as scores just in case. I ask that you all get your series completed in one week, by March 25th. If you're having trouble setting up a mutual time that works, just let the rest of us know there's going to be a delay. If you can't get in contact with the other coach, post your availability on the "Schedule A Game" subforum. If you don't respond all week, you'll risk forfeiting your series. This is not designed to make things difficult or uncomfortable, just to move things along and/or make everyone aware of the schedule. Good luck to you all!
  13. I'll miss your post game synopsis. . I'm also trying to break a bad habit of pausing/unpausing quickly after I get scored on.
  14. Woah...Question: do we have to have a minimum number of players on our team? I.e. 6 forwards, 4 defensemen, 2 goalies? Just want to make sure I budget correctly...
  15. This movie is hilarious in many ways. The whole thing is on YouTube...here is part 1: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iQZ9wXO8RVs "Kill screen is coming...if anyone wants to see it..."
  16. Update: I broke the record and submitted the video to Twin Galaxies back in late January. Just heard from the TG judge that he is "backlogged a couple of months" , so it may take some time to verify. lol. Anyway the unofficial, soon to be official, record will now be 58.
  17. Trust me, I won't be taking you lightly when we play our games. Those who do will be in for a surprise!
  18. I thought all new players go to C? There's some other good players that are not necessarily new and can also do well -- Plabax (who played last year and in '12, though HTF is tough), schildmeijer (another guy I confirmed who should do well, esp. w/ CHI), Josh (played in Survivor against all B/A guys, and MTL is tough to score on), Sandman (coming back for year #2 with DET instead of LA). I'm not saying Alonzi runs away with it, but I'd pencil him in for the playoffs. Also this is on a limited number of games, sometimes as low as 1 or 2...anyone else has played any of these guys before?
  19. My initial thoughts regarding your picks, A Carse -- Anyone who has won back-to-back-to-back championships with 3 different teams in A will be in consideration for the title every year. Oh yeah, one of those years was with CAL. Not a bad choice. lol. KingRaph -- Detroit is undoubtedly one of the top teams in the league (#2 behind almighty Chicago if you ask me), so this is my best shot! I'd love to make the finals, and would consider that a great season. Agree about IceStorm and Winnipeg. Flasox, defending champ, has the skills for sure. Obviously Philly is not as good as Chicago (last classic team), but HABS took Philly to the A finals in Spring'10, so watch out. Agree with DC about FPB. You didn't mention: Vocally Caged (BUF) - same team as last classic (which had even more depth in players), which he took the conference finals! Despite his self-fulfilling choking predictions, I wouldn't look past him. Zalex (DAL) - Record setting Blitz season, DAL can be super-tough in the right hands. Zalex has strong manual goalie, so it'll come down to whether Modano/Courtnall can actually hit the net with their shoddy accuracy. B Man, this to me is wide open. I wouldn't be surprised if anyone listed made it to the finals, so I can't argue your choices. I never played Rammer, but watched the video finals between him and wookie. 37-3 in C is impressive, coming back with the same team. You didn't include xdeathsbloodx, which I believe is a mistake. Yes, Philly is a weaker team, but xdbx finished #1 in Blitz regular season and went to finals vs Houly! Has to be consideration for sure! C My pick again is Mike Alonzi with Toronto. I've confirmed him, played a few, and would think he could play in B already. But who knows????

  21. HABS not playing classic this year ( ) , but I hope he does his awesome Vegas odds.
