  1. Except Freydey & Zalex
  2. I didn't know that! I might have to change my "favorite way score" field now.
  3. Partial responses from me below: 1. Can a player ever get injured when the clock's not rolling? No, not that I've ever seen in '94. 2. When you pull off a succesful tackle against someone who has the puck, you get "cheers" or "boos" from the audience, depending on if you're playing home and away. Sometimes, this happens also when you don't actually pull the guy to the ground, but just win the puck over, leaving the tackled player still standing. Thus, it's still considered a "succesful" tackle by the game. Now, I've noticed you cannot tackle the same player twice, you've got to tackle someone else "in between". But does this rule apply also to tackles where you don't actually slam the guy to the ground? Not sure here 3. Has anyone else noticed the sweet bug that lets you pull a tackled player of your own up again just by doing a one-timer pass to him? Yes 4. Can the goalie ever get credited for a goal? Or get a penalty? Get injured? Goal, yes. Penalty, no. Injured, no. 5. What's the "weight bug"? In the Gensis game, a players checking ability is solely determined by their weight (not checking, aggressiveness, etc.). However, the LOWER the weight, the BETTER the checking. Meaning, lightweight guys like Theo Fleury are checking monsters! This is a bug, since it should have been heavier guys with better checking. There is a thread on this here: http://forum.nhl94.com/index.php?/topic/3083-weight-bug-in-gens/ 6. What's the difference between the Genesis and Sega CD versions? Sega CD never reached Sweden, I don't think. Perhaps someone else can answer this -- I never played the CD version either. 7. And, finally, I've collected a number of cool Gens videos over the years, is there any way I can convert them and upload them to YouTube or this forum? What format are they in now? YouTube is easy if your videos are already digital. Welcome to the site!
  4. Just went to the GGPO site -- can we use this for '94? Anyone tried? I still don't understand how it's possible to remove lag, but I'm curious if this is better than using Hamachi.
  5. I've compiled the data to show what the records are for teammates. Attached a snapshot of what makes up the 79-73. Anyone interested in the Excel spreadsheet, you can download it from this link: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/10816388/2011%20Summit%20Results.xlsx
  6. Pass shot not necessarily "down B".
  7. This is good stuff -- some of it applies to GENS as well. It'd be nice to have a guide like this in both SNES and GENS forums, but to make it a wiki if possible. That way people can add/edit continuously.
  8. Great write up!
  9. Confirmed. Like I say, NOBODY scores more than 8 goals on me! ggs -- gl the rest of the way. NYR Stats: Game 1 Gaborik 1 G Avery 1A Staal 1A Drury 1G Anisimov 1 A Emiger 1A Game 2 ZERO Game 3 Stepan 1G 1a Callahan 1G 1A Anisimov 1G 1A Boyle 1A Game 4 Girardi 2A Dubinsky 3G Gaborik 1A Stepan 1A McDonough 1A Anisimov 1G Callahan 1G
  10. Depends on what you mean by "best". Most efficient? You mention satisfying, so that would be unique to each individual. I'd argue the one timer from wing to center is most efficient, while pass shot is most satisfying.
  11. Total moron. This league ran great. A start-up league, run by newbies, it exceeded my expectations (i mean that as a compliment). I was very happy to see people posting results and playing their games. You and ProBob deserve a lot of credit, not misguided criticism. Stick with it guys, I rate the regular season a success.
  12. KingRaph/Probob38. We will choose the team soon
  13. Lmao @ both Comeback/Zalex
  14. Lmao, now I know the real reason Courtnall kept hitting them posts!
  15. Awesome, congrats. Way to represent the class of Spring '11!
  16. If you're content, fine, but have you tried FF? You'll notice the difference in speed right away. Word Association: Firefox is to Roenick as IE is to Tony Twist
  17. sooooooooo much faster, especially when viewing Geocities.
  18. I've been using 5 for a while -- no problems.
  19. I'm less surprised at this level than I am at what's going on in A with HABS/Carse and B with Donny/Comeback. Not all newbies (I think Chaos/Halifax said only about 20% stay each year) are as committed. I figure that onetimer is not a person who will continue to be an active member of the '94 community. Hey, now you officially have another champion in your '11 league!
  20. Comeback, you sound a *little* cranky! As another guy who joined when you did, I just want to chime in with a slightly different perspective. I finished my 40 in classic (both B and the replacement games in A), played my playoff games, and also just finished the 22 games in the '11 league. It really wasn't a problem -- and I played guys in Mexico, France, Canda, East/West, etc. Note: I have a full-time job, wife + 2 kids (under 3). Having said that, I agree that it comes down to motivation. As much as I wish everyone had that same motivation/time to play their games, the reality is it's just not going to happen. This is a hobby, with no costs! (well in my case sleep). It sure is a whole lot more fun when you have dedicated guys playing, but forcing people to play specific players won't work. It'll be worse! I just accept that this is the case. All we can do is play our games and participate. I think this idea from Halifax will be good for active players. I'm interested to see how it turns out...really wondering about people avoiding playing known tough A leaguers. Regarding other players -- I too, don't like being ignored and think a courtesy response is nice. However, I must say most people I AIM DO respond and are usually cool with playing some games. Given my usual late-night availability, it's usually the same small number of folks I see online, so you may have a different crowd of people, who knows. I also haven't experienced the trashing of newbies on the forums. If it happened to me, perhaps I'm too dense to even realize it! . Summit is almost impossible for USA B players. It's been talked about in the Summit thread. Just look at the "B players schedule" thread where you, me and Dan responded...lol. Oh, and I'm still losing sleep. I hope to get to where you are.
  21. Awesome, thanks. And USA's victory this season will be completely legit.
  22. Fascinating! Is this true in Blitz as well, or have you found the code and normalized it for all teams? I never thought about this when switching teams from BUF to DAL. Not that I'm complaining (I can't stand that Buffalo music), but just never considered it. Fascinating! lol. If I remember, I will try to pay attention to this.
  23. I noticed at the end of the manual (http://nhl94.com/multimedia/manuals/NHL94_GEN.pdf) starting on pg 55, it lists the teams and rosters. For each team, the manual lists "Home Ice Advantage" and "Road Ice Disadvantage" from Low, Average, and High. You think there's anything to that? From the stats you guys presented, there's undoubtedly an overall home ice advantage, but I wonder if it's more/less severe depending on the teams? A High Home Ice Advantage vs. High Road Ice Disadvantage would be the most skewed, etc.
  24. I'm usually on at night (judging by your post you may be too), I'll be happy to play some games -- AIM: KingRaph
  25. Can someone explain how the Capitalism league worked for those of us who were not around? The Capitalism league board doesn't have a pinned "About" thread that I can find.
