HOLY COMPLICATED! Just let me know who I gotta play -- I trust you. lol

I feel like a marked man now! lol. Not to get too far ahead (I know it's been a week!), but how are you handling the playoffs? I saw a post when we had 2 divisions of 8, but not 3 with 6. I'm assuming some aspect may be dependent on overall record in the league (ex: 3 division winners in, next 3 is best of league, etc.) so just to think about posting league-wide standings for all divisions in one forum, instead of 3 individual forums -- including overall standings for the 18 teams.

Fyi, MAV was nice enough to finish up our last 3 minutes. No scoring, so its final.

I joined the forums a few years back, meaning I made one post regarding a GENS bug. I don't remember what prompted me to find NHL94.com, but I didn't come back until Halifax (Spambud) sent an email regarding the Spring'11 classic league. Intrigued, I signed up and started playing online. I quickly became addicted as I did over a decade ago! I haven't played any hockey game past NHL'95, so to find out now that there's a competitive league of '94 players here is a mini dream come true. Now I just gotta master that damn pass shot....

First timer here! I love Sega Genesis '93 and '94
kingraph replied to U_Got_Klimatized's topic in General NHL'94 Discussion
The only thing I remember for Genesis before '93 was NHLPA, which was technically '92. This was actually the first game I played on Genesis at at friends house and was HOOKED. By far the best hockey game that was out at the time, particularly because it had real NHL players and teams, which didn't exist before (to my knowledge). For me, I was coming from Ice Hockey and Blades of Steel on NES, and NHLPA was about 1,000 times better than those games. It wasn't long until I upgraded to Genesis. By the time I got Genesis, '93 was out, so I was much more familiar with the game. I know there are subforums for the other year here (http://forum.nhl94.com/), on the bottom, but I haven't really looked myself. -

Just noticed that my division record is listed as 3-0, but it should be 4. I played stonecold and comeback twice.

Since this ROM is new to everyone, we're all learning/perceiving differences to the original with respect to gameplay -- I wonder if we start a new thread to list what people are thinking? For example, I feel the goalies are weaker in this ROM. I haven't played a lot of games, but I feel deke goals are much easier in this ROM compared to the original. Someone mentioned that they feel the goalie starts deteriorating after 4 goals -- not sure if I see that, but also interesting. I also feel passing is better, in that there are less passes bouncing off skates -- could be the NYR (team I play with most) have good stick handling. Dunno. Any other thoughts on the ROM so far?

I believe smozoma is working on a webpage that will allow a single game upload of a savestate that we can use to then copy/paste much faster. However, until that becomes available, we're playing the games and typing it up manually.

For those who may not know, Bill Simmons is a popular ESPN sports columnist. He has, at the time of this posting, over 1.4M twitter followers. Anyway, today he posted an NHL'94 video on Facebook, so I thought I'd share. Perhaps the people who comment will eventually start playing online! http://www.facebook.com/billsimmons/posts/134470989962978

Attached is a buddy list file (.blt) of the 2011 League by division. If you want, save the file, and you import it into AIM. It has the correct AIM names for the members of the league, sorted by division. Just thought I'd post as some people may find it useful and I do this for myself anyway. Not sure how other people organize their AIM, but I find it useful to group by league/division. To import, go to Options --> AIM --> Load Buddy List (select the attached file) FYI, it won't replace your other categories -- meaning, if you already have a person listed in AIM, it will just list them twice. For example, I have Comeback King listed under GENS B Classic and 2011 Central (shows up twice). UPDATE: Erm, I don't see the attachment (perhaps we're not allowed to attach certain files?), so here's a link: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/10816388/GENS%202011.blt
