  1. One of the reasons I made sea-hag was because of the amount of leagues. Perhaps the main reason no one uses it is because people ONLY play leagues and don't care about exhibition games. I don't really know. Regardless, SH is there to record games, so if you want to have a tourney or league without having to run an entire website for it, you can always upload there and link to it from a forum.

I omly play classic, but I could play more. My biggest issue is finding dudes to play. There is a core group who is excellent at finding time to play, but most others are difficult to say the least. I feel like the SNES group is tighter and easier to game with than the gens guys, but it may be a numbers issue in the end.

  2. Unrelated to your league, but kero5hin and I have been talking about starting a rando-league on sea-hag.

    The general gist is this:

    - each player gets ten random teams.

    - you can only play each team ONCE.

    - visitor picks first.

Playoffs would be another new set of teams which would be given before they start. Same rules apply.

It'd bring a bit of strategy to the matchups instead of one dude taking the penguins and scoring 90000 goals with lemieux in SNES.

It seems like most people here are more interested in draft lesgues, though, so I'm unsure of how many people would play...

  3. You're right, I'm sorry marchawg lol. I posted that at like 3am last night so I must have been in a tired daze dreaming about houly's upcoming funny posts. Marchawg made some good points I just didn't like the fact that he said if it were up to him houly wouldn't be allowed in. My fault for taking that line too seriously lol. I can't help it that I have a houly-hardon

It's nothing personal against houly. I hate seeing communities devolve into the type of material we see in this very post. It's really hard to get people interested in a community that is cliquey and filled with drama. I've seen it before. No thanks.

  4. But what sense does it make to ban someone in a league that is designed for competition over fun because he's a poor sport? You will ALWAYS have a poor sport in a competitive league, that's how competitive people are.

The fact is Houly is way more valuable than most people here and what will happen if we unban him? Nothing bad and very very likely something good as he will improve the community. The guy is not going to murder us all if unbanned. What can he do at worst, refuse to play games? Cool we already have worse people who refuse games aswell. Silly then just mix the leagues. Houly is not your poor sport who will pause in game and scream because he's losing.

That's not at all true. Poor sports are just like spoiled little children. If they can't have their way, they try to ruin it for everyone else. Not all competitive leagues have them.

If he is already playing in other leagues, why does he need to be unbanned for this one? Especially when there is a clear split between people loving and hating the drama.

Also, if you don't enjoy the people who fill out the Classic rosters, you don't have to play in it. Like I said, you could start your own league with as much nonsense as you like.

Ultimately the decision is not mine to make, but having had bad experiences in the past with other poor sports, I'd rather keep him out.

  5. But it is what keeps 94 flourishing. Yeah you guys say respect this and respect that and it's all for fun but really do you expect people to believe you don't scream and swear at your screen when you lose? Seriously lol everyone does it.

Getting frustrated while playing and keeping it to yourself is not comparable to trolling and being a poor sport. If you want, you can make a trolling classic league where only 12% of the guys finish because of "lag," "controller," "obama" issues.

Being a good sport is an excellent life skill to learn. Just because we're online and (somewhat) anonymous doesn't mean you have to bang everyone's mom and out them for being homosexual. It's ok to just say "good game, it was nice playing."

  6. You guys really enjoy soap operas huh?

I only came in to say that the incessant trolling is a real turn-off to adults with real responsibilities looking to unwind with some friendly competition. I expect it from Plabax considering his age, but older guys? Not so much.

  7. Maybe unlike most NJ fans, I wish him well in the KHL and his future career. I am the same age as him, and you can bet I'd walk away from money to come back to the US if I were in a comparable situation. It sucks for the Devils for a bit, but one man should not make your team.

That said, I still root for Slovan in the KHL, so f**k him when they play ;)

  8. SNES is just a Body checking fest. It's so gay lol. With Dallas I think my guys had a 100% chance of falling from every check. GENS should have 16 teams and SNES should have 12 because with the cheesy teams like Boston/Pittsburgh in SNES it's no fun.

You should try the juiced rom on SNES (http://www.sea-hag.net/snes/getting-started/ -- listed on there in a zip). The weights still affect things, obviously, but it's a much more realistic game if you're into that.

I kind of like the cheesy teams in SNES because of how satisfying it is when you do beat them. That said, Lemieux is a thing of nightmares in it.
