But you don't need to enter in the detail, using the shower example as an argument, or comment how AJ is using his freetime, this is just ridicules and impolite, you are loosing your credibility. The deadline is the 21, so what's the problem ? If you boring yourself, just read a book or play an other videogame. Control yourself and your impatience. Set a clear appointment with AJ, and if he don't show up, he is forfeit. No complication. You are a competitor, ok, you want to be the best, ok. But you are not allowed to enter in people's private life and certainly not make crappy comments. If I read the picture you have posted and all your commentary, I just see harassment and great doubts about your logic. It can be a good reason to put you out from the league. We all recognize your talent as a player, but we advise you to work on your communication and respect for privacy. An advice to AJ, ignore Plabax and just play him before the end of the 21. May I say something. I think in real life players or teams don't have always good relations, and the result gives derby and official rivalry, for example in Soccer, Boca Junior against River Plate is really something. So, you are often talking about competition spirit and blabla, what I don't see here in final. In the past, I had a hiatus with Houly and Tomcab, that doesn't mean I won't play them. Quite the contrary, and it's what I said to Houly, rivalry gives a good reason to play your opponent and spice up the game. I have a great respect for AJ, great player and his knowledge from the game is really impressive. Plabax his a prodigy, he forced the top players to raise their skills to remain competitive. He needs to progress in communication, and his Ego is overemotional. But it's a part of genius and youth. AJ saying that he won't play, doesn't show maturity, and it's disrespectful to the competition and other competitors. So, in conclusion, I say that Top Players should show the example and put their ego away. If you can't find a way to play, you are loosing your credibility. My proposition : compare the agenda of the two players, set an appointment. They don't need to talk, just play. If one of them don't show up, he is declared the "Wet Chicken of NHL'94"

Why not do a survey or questionnaire and send it to all members of nhl94.com ? So we will know exactly why members don't play online? We will no longer have urban legends. We just need maybe to consult each other, here in the forum, to built the survey and select the questions.

It's legal in France, I consulted a Lawyer at the time, when I had the project to create a money prize for tournament. What is illegal is the hazard games. But If players are rewarded for their talent, it's legal. Depend just of the point of view. What if we create officially the tournament in France or somewhere else in the World where it's legal ? Does players from America have the right to participate legally ?

What is your Dream League ? I plan to run a league starting 2017. Maybe we have point of view in common.

The AI is not perfect and is better on the PC version. But I like to play this way. We will use a Custom rom, with the good hacks available : Goalie button ; Weight bug fix, CB checks fix ; etc + The graphics hacks and enchantment. The goal is to play strategics games more close to a simulation with all the major bug fixed. And keep the feeling from the original NHL'94. I write a dedicate post soon. We are still using AIM, some use pidgin (more convivial) and there is a fresh room on "discord" and another on "slack". There is currently a debate about where we are headed for the future.

No news from donnybrook, I assume it's a forfeit. Round 2 start officially today and you have two weeks. The rom for the semi and the final is in the first post. Some change for the semi and the finale: we will just focus on the emulator difference and not the playoff mode anymore. Playing in playoffs seven mode is confusing, and our goal is just to compare Fusion and Gens. So just play your games in Exhibition mode. The rom is the Classic rom + the Goalie Hack and a new name. Blitz was suspended. VHL is something different, where you play a Draft team with the last players (VHL 3 with NHL'16 players, and certainly VHL 4 with NHL'17 players) It's a good League with majority of B players, one or two A players, and one or two C players. Contact Skip if you want some info, he runs the League. Some new Leagues are emerging actually. I expect to run myself a League, starting January 2017, Based on Line Change and Offsides On. I can keep you in touch if you are interested.

I agree with jer_33, the steps required for playing your first game does not invite new players to come. For the rest, I have some idea or suggestion : For the Classic : If there is only one division with a mix of B and C players, I propose a C playoffs for teams that are not qualified in the B playoffs. To keep the players motivated. And I will certainly launch the next year a New competition called The King of 7 Cup. All players that are registered on nhl94.com will be invited to play this cup. Single elimination best of 7, the players enter the cup each round according to their level. I think this can wake up the interest from old players. Not a lot of games to play, and opponents on their level. It's important to offer something else that the Classic league concept for new players. And the "Draft League like" is not what everyone dreams to play. One of my actual interrogation is : why do we play every season a bugged game in Classic ? We have hacks and multiple possibility to correct the classic rom, we can have a better and most interesting game that the original. Can someone explain me why we are still playing with a bugged rom ?? I also take advantage of the opportunity to present you some of my reflections: 1st I want to introduce a new concept to enter the Leagues as coach : Head coach or Independent coach. A declared Head coach is someone who wants to play a Team all the season and who can play all his games. A declared Independent coach is someone who wants to play in a league but just when he has time. So for an example we can have a 20 Teams League with 10 Head coaches, and the number of Free coaches you want, who play when they want the 10 Free teams. - If a Head coach needs to play vs an Independent team, he just need to find a Free coach online and play. - If a Head coach is not playing his games, he is dropped on the Free coach list and his team become a free team. The great advantage is that players can join the league at any time in the season to play as Free coach and even pick a Free team and become a Head coach. The waiting list is also, by the facts, obsolete. At the end the goal is 100% games played, a mix of regular players and casual players, and the possibility to enter or quit the league at any time in the season with no great impact on the league. 2nd, as number of players decrease irremediably, I don't want to wait the end to propose a League with Offside & Line Change, and all the hack we can have, to play more strategics games. I will made a specific post for that in a couple of days. I have other ideas, but I think it's good for today

I count actually around 6 actives players who have the C level... not easy to form a league. Or why not something like the Original 6. Anyway there are a multiple reasons who can explain why people quit. But, I maintain that a part of them are leaving because they don't have pleasure to play, and because the level of play is too high for rookies. Maybe one way to content everybody, is to offer the possibility for coaches that are not qualified in the B playoffs to compete in a C playoffs. So C players can have enough motivation to finish the season in the B group and then play in the C playoffs.

Here it is. I followed your suggestion. I made 3 lists with one for both engine. And I deleted the SNES Malus (wasn't such a good idea after reflection) NHL'94 EXP Ranking November 2016 (first post updated too)

I kept the best record for players with 2 entries. I can set a separate table for SNES and for Gens if you wish. This ranking has a purpose : as the number of players decrease irremediably, and because I find it's a good idea, I want to propose a future league where SNES and Gens players can try to play together (dream I too hard ? ) and where the best coaches can pick the best teams (like in real life). So that's the reason of the SNES Malus. In this ranking you can see that you and annatar are well placed, if you wish to enter in this league.

The controversial is against the rules. I'm a french guy and everybody know that we love rules and that we are meticulous about the regulation (we are build like that). And in the fact I'm actually the only one who made your return in B controversial. So I have no further objections and give you rendez-vous in the Playoffs 8-)

Sure, my first reaction was greatly motivated by this discussion on how the leagues are run , the willingness to protect the B level and reduce the gap between the bests players and the others. What are the chance for D.T. , Cheafstar, Sublime, or CoachMac this season ? Drooping in a middle of a season, an A player to the B level, unbalance the tournament in my point of view. Specially because he is trained in the A group before he enter in the B group. And what is the final point ? Why give a team in middle of a season to a declared A player and leave 3 teams with no active coach : Vancouver, Los Angeles and Quebec. Questions I just ask, and if the majority approves, I'm ok with that. The organizers just need to clarify the rules at the beginning of a season and don't change everything in the middle. If we can enter in 2 different level at the same time, just declare it official. As I said, if he had started in B this season, this discussion would even exist.
