  1. Playing games and having fun = Lame Quitting, Whining, Complaining = PlabaxV2 I'll take my lame league!
  2. Pardon the Interuption, but... As this argument continues our little 92 league rolls on. We started June 16. I have played 56 games (14 with each of my 4 teams) and so have the other 3 guys. We follow a tight schedule and you can count on everyone to be on and play their games. Look for a Classic 93 League run similar to this coming in Mid-September. Carry On.
  3. I loved the Campbell and Wales Patrick, Adams, Norris, and Smythe. Wish they had come back. It was and is also cool when Chris Berman use to refer to the old NFC Central in Football as the Norris. Still does occasionally for the NFC North.
  4. What amazes me is the time spent drafting, organizing, stat keeping, posting on forums etc... and the lack of time playing. Our little 93 league was great until the end. I still don't get what happened with Begley and I never heard a word from him. I did see he was right back playing in 94 classic so I am glad that he did not have a career ending injury by Brutus and Bob Probert. My face still hurts. I am currently playing in a great small 92 league run by deadmeow. Lots of games are played. a schedule is followed and you can count on everyone. We have been playing one month and all 4 guys have 48 games played. (12 games with each of our 4 teams) It gets all the teams involved and some of the better guys have to play with lesser teams. So maybe KingRaph would kill me with his good teams, but when my good team is playing a weak sister I may knock Raph off. Or maybe not. Here is the link to our current 92 league. http://homeiswhere.phpzilla.net/nhl2013standings.htm I know not all agree but small leagues that finish with guys you can trust are fun. A couple guys have contacted me about another 93 season and With that being said sometime around the beginning of the NHL season I plan to start a small Classic 93 season similar to the 92 season I am playing in now. 6 guys each controlling 4 teams. That is my 2 cents
  5. I need a game cartridge made of a couple of custom roms of NHLPA 93. I have been playing on my original sega and loving it. I know about the other forums addressing this. Anyone currently doing it?
  6. Clint Malarchuk lives in my town. Spoke with him for a bit down by the river near my house as we were both throwing balls for our dogs. His ex-wife lives right around the corner from us. ESPN just did a cool special on him.
  7. When I did it with my Original 6 rom I just used NOSE to make all teams 3 times for a total of 18. I also changed Banners to say nicknames for duplicate teams. http://forum.nhl94.com/index.php?/topic/14957-nhlpa-63/ Get it here and look how I did it in NOSE. Works great.

    True 94

I think I have found a use for NHL 95. You could import the rosters and ratings from that game into NHL 94 and have a true 94 experience. Plus Igor Kuperman did not do the ratings in 95.

    92 in 93

So I have been playing The Original EASN NHL Hockey (92) often lately and have even joined a small league. It is a great game. I love the rosters from that game (1991 season) and the players were not rated by Igor Kuperman so their is no Russian bias. The last year before the Oilers were completely dismantled. The problems is no names. So I took that game and put it into NHLPA 93. The fighting needs some tweaks, but it actually makes 93 play better with the lower ratings. I updated everything unis, playoff draws etc...to what they were in 92. But all lines and ratings are taken directly from the Original NHL Hockey. Gretzky (92) and Mario (94) are the only guys rated in the 90's Very few in the 80's. I did fix the WB. I do not think it exist in the Original game. Even though I can find the Hack it does not seem to be a big deal. Little guys do not go around leveling big guys in NHL 92. I left the Sharks and all-star teams out. Anyway check it out and let me know what you think. I am going to tweak the fighting ratings a little and post another version later, but this 92 exactly copied into 93. 92in93.bin
  10. Glad I did not swear about MacTavish it was not in 93 (I checked all 5 of my cartridges) but a PS2 game (2K?) that if you played as a historic team the correct guys would not have helmets on. So like 94 Rangers they all had helmets except #14. Sorry I will not be providing pics as I no longer have a PS2 or those games.
  11. Places EA replaces EASN
  12. Instead of spinning pucks you get this.
  13. #2 is easy pic coming up Working on #3 now
  14. 77, Why are you not in our 93 leagues? Here is what I know about different versions of the my favorite EASN/EA game. I am not sure about the numbers or your pics in the hex editor, but I know from different cartridges I have that, #1 Early versions had fighting like 92 and you could not move. #2 Very late versions removed the EASN logo from center ice and everywhere else and replaced it with EA. I have one of these cartridges and boxes and even on the box it says EA as opposed to EASN. #3 And this is the best of all...I could swear that a version exist where Craig MacTavish is not wearing a helmet. I am going to check all my cartridges and see if I can find this.
  15. For me it is 92, 93, and 94. Which all look and play very similar. The graphics are classic much like Tecmo Super Bowl. Even as the games progressed to PS1 and then PS2 and now PS3 to look more "real" the classic look of the sprites during this era is the most appealing to me. I remember on the PS1 the real looking players were like boxes. The guys on the PS3 freak me out. Plus everything Oilers said. Not only did they change from a speed that felt "right" to super turbo they destroyed the graphics. Can you imagine if they had just stuck with the great thing they had, but added season mode in 95. Put fighting back in in 96 and added level of difficulty to make the computer more challenging. Lastly is simplicity. The controls everything was easy to pick up and play.
  16. Custom Leagues with Buds you can count on. I do not know why so many good guys put up with quitters, whiners, and complainers. There are more than enough good guys to have a league with and small leagues are fun. It is a ton of work to run a league and I admire all the guys who keep this place up and running, but just tell the drama queens they are out.
  17. Easy? Possible yes but not easy. My face still hurts from my games with Brutus and Jer33. You did it twice with Brutus and once with Jeremy 9107. Of which I give you huge credit. I tried to tie up Probert. I tried to run. I just got pummeled same for Jer33 and Roberts. Nothing against Brutus but Jer33 was the best fighter based on how he controlled his guys. He could beat me with much lower rated players.
  18. Sorry to jump in on this guys but I can no longer keep this question to myself. Dcicon if you were the leading scorer in the AHL and you got called up to play on the third line in the NHL would you go? Or would it be more fun to just stay and dominate the AHL. Also who would you play if all the guys in B did like you and said we don't have a chance and it is no fun to play with dcicon who is a huge and dominant favorite. I don't know if dcicon or anyone else has but once you win a B League Championship you should be in A. Uncle Seth you are a classic it would be fun to have you in our 93 league.
  19. Larionov with a 0 would not fight, but Messier with a 14 fought and lost 4 times during the season. Roenick is also prone to scrap and get KO'd. So it is not like the fights are just the guys like Domi and Probert. The fighting was different every game. Jer33 was the best fighter in our league. He did a lot of damage with Roberts who is a 71. I think he beat Probert once? But ProBob is the King for sure. #1 pick material. Aggression has to do with fighting also. But, it seems that one guy rated 71 or higher has to be involved to have a scrap. Never seen two 42's or 42 and 28 fight. And I have always wondered why no one is rated 57 and what would happen with a 57. It is a fun game and the guys who did it did a great job on the fighting. The WBF also makes 93 a much better game, and 94 for that matter. 93 just needs better goalies/manual control. The Russian bias bugs me also. Begley did win. He was only down 2-1 in the Finals and Quit. They had 2 tight games and the season series was 2-1-1. Glad to hear you found that Brutus was good. I'm not sure what you mean by real 93 and usually. 93 is great. So is 92. So is 94. Never played SNES but I bet it is fun to. I do not enjoy the games past 94 but think the thing the guys at Segathon got going with NHL 95 is awesome. That web-site led me to organize my friends into a similar type Live Event. I am thinking we will do another DGL 93 in the Fall. Would love to expand to 8 or 12 teams with the right guys involved. Hopefully DaDonch will be back around and can make us a stat tracking web-site and play in the league.
