  1. Well I had a few hours off today (a huge rarity) and decided to play a couple different versions of classic NHL.

Played 98 and enjoyed it, I changed the color of the ice so it's cleaner looking, slowed the players down and eased up on the goalies. The biggest flaw I noticed was how the defenders will go back and sit in front of their net. Good for defensive hockey but it's just not something you do. Also the goalies aren't as floppy as 94 etc.. which takes away some of the goalmouth scrambles and excitement.

So I then played 95 which I really love because of the league mode and a closer resemblance to the originals than 96-98. No fighting kind of sucks and the puck needs to stay in the rink more but the deking and one timers are great. Not too many long shots go in unless it's a one timer or something. Almost find it a bit fast more my liking right now.

Lastly I threw in 94 and I have to admit, I kinda forgot how much fun the original look and feel the early games had. Goals come off all different ways. 2 on 1's , one timers, long shots, flukes and scrambles are so much fun and the D will attack you wherever you are. Something about those quirky graphics just seem fantastic too. Just wish fighting and blood stayed in it. Oh well. Anyone have a good way of playing a season while collecting stats etc... My point being 94 is now over 10 years old and does so many things better than games around today. It's a real shame. I think I am going to be spending more time with 94 and the likes.

Oh and the BEST part of any game ever.......highlights from other games. Damn, now bring that back EA.

    Later boys!

  2. I'm working on bringing some of that fun back Evan with 98 anyways. I am slowing it down. Less puck control and speed on goalies, less def awareness and less stamina to create a more 93-94 pace and feel. More goalmouth scrambles and more goal scoring like the new nhl etc... Having a season mode is just awesome. I so wish 93 and 94 had it.

  3. I've discussed that with him and I don't think it's possible.

I have a few requests. To be able to take every guy on a team together and change an attribute up or down ant the same time. Even the whole league at one time (line nhl info) or grab every guy together and make that attribute the same. Like a right click instead of opening every guy in their own box. Maybe this is already possible and I missed that too. Would be real good for rosters between years.

Great editor regardless. Managed to get through Calgary - Florida 100% yesterday and today. :)

  4. You still need the CD. The patch only changes some gameplay elements. It does not run the game or allow you to run the game with no cd so sending you the exe will do nothing. I'll gladly transfer the entire game (300 mb) to you if you catch me on AIM sometime but that is all I will do to get someone the game. Ebay has them all the time. I've tried replyig to your emails but they always bounce back. Please no more discussion here as this is not the right forum.

Actually maybe Evan could drop a little sub forum for 'other hockey games' I for one would appreciate it.

    Thanks

  5. Wboy, the program is amazing. No words of thanks could sum up how much your editor is appreciated. I can't wait to be able to use it even more but my full time firefighting test is a week tomorrow so I have lots of studying to do. Until then, thanks again and watch for the return of macks hacks sooner than you think.

  6. "Looks in wallet" sees nothing but moths..................ummm I would pay nothing. :)

Now an editor for another game......(hint hint wboy) ....priceless. :P

Actually I think anyone who uses it should send a little something. He's spent a lot of time on this cool editor.
