  1. Do the tecmo leagues draft? Likely not. The most popular league is classic because it is the most accessible, and provides nostalgia.

While Yeats' Second Coming was posted as a somewhat preposterous joke, the message and meaning remain relevant.

I hate complaining about slacking except when it was Hokee because he was so consistently amusing with his slacking rants. It was from my point of view his MO.

Oddly, a lot of guys complain about Zepp's turtle style defense, but I really enjoy playing Zepp.  So, I guess to each their own :)

So this appears to be a compliment, however comes out of left field. The complaints come mostly after a thorough beating.

  3. The key to the goalie ram is a heavy player and preferably a light goalie. As the goalie makes the save, you c burst into the goalie. Perhaps the easiest way to do it is to go straight into the goalie, attempt a 5 hole pass shot, and just c BURST rapidly into the goalie. If you time it as the save is made, the goalie has little chance to move forward. Basically the momentum pushes the goalie and the puck into the net.

It is a pretty desperate move, but given the right circumstances can be effective.

If done correctly it is pretty undefensable, but that is really rare. The key to stopping its effectiveness is after the save moving away from the net so the momentum doesn't push you into it.

You can't have 30 second penalties.

I will never play another game with penalties on. They are the worst thing ever.

    Penalty Shots are the bomb!

Ok so what else do I think is essential: more than 2 games against an opponent! The best was the Classic with 10 teams where it was 4 or 5 against everyone.

Doing 2 games just isn't enough.

Auctioning is above my computer knowledge, but fortunately I am surrounded by the cognoscenti here. I've heard survivor is great but never played in it. Apart from that regular classic is my favorite league by far.

  5. This is a tough one, but I really think it comes down to fundamentals. So I agree with King Raph about finishing, but you have to know the dekes. They are the first step not just to offense, but seeing where the goalie needs to go on defense.

The best players capitalize the most. Pretty simple. Goalie play is definitely the difference between me personally beating the opponent or losing. They generally come up with one killer save I wouldn't; and vis-a-versa I give up a soft goal.
