Depch and others had some advice for overseas connections here: http://forum.nhl94.com/index.php?/topic/18037-overseas-games-and-laggy-connections/ -- I learned a few things about setting my frames there.

    Welcome back! :)

Thanks man!. I just felt an urge to play some NHL94 again. But it would be cool to do a test game with someone overseas to see how the connection work. I remember that the first season I played, it worked pretty good with most players.

Internet connection speed doesn't really matter that much, as the physical distance between two players doesn't change.  Ping is a measure of how long a signal takes to travel from one computer to another, and it has to do with distance.

The more important factor for smoother gameplay is a "clean" connection -- i.e. wired to avoid wifi noise and generally nobody on the network doing heavy streaming.

Still worth giving it a shot though, good luck, I hope to see you around!

Yeah might be so. It worked sometimes. Well I might sign up for the spring season (if there still is one of those running)

  3. I would like to change to Pittsburgh, instead of Hartford if thats possible?

CHI should be banned in these tournaments, even if you have the upperhand against an opponent that is not as good as you. He just gets the puck to Roenick and its good night.

  4. NHL 95 for the PC is one of the seven games in my life that I've actually purchased for the PC. It was one of my first Windows 3.1 games. Ahhhh, the memories. Great game. I remember it being very easy because of the CPU's inability to score.

I bought the 1997 one to PC when it came out. It was pretty good it had all the real starter goalie masks! Also you could tackle the referee. And I had the 1995 one it was pretty cool, way better than the crappy s**t NHL1996

  5. For SNES, I think the ratings are actually quite good. A lot better than the bloated ratings found in recent editions of the NHL games. But there are a few guys who I think deserved better treatment :

Wayne Gretzky - He has the most goals of all time!! He should have at least a 65 for both shot power and accuracy. This is the biggest underrating for me. I would have loved to see a better version of the Great One in this game.

Dale Hawerchuk - Come on, he's Dale Hawerchuk. He should have a decent shot or something.

Nick Lidstrom - had 60 points as a rookie defenseman, followed by a 41 point season in 92/93. It would be nice if he was a bit better in the offensive ratings (ie. skating/passing/shooting) to make up for his slight stature. But unfortunately he is not quite good enough to be used over the heavier, moderately skilled Steve Chiasson.

Rick Tocchet - He should have a bit better agility and/or speed, maybe a better shot, enough to make him useful.

Brendan Shanahan - Scored 51 goals in 92/93. Could have had better skating and even checking ratings to make him more useful of a player.

I'm sure there are a few more, but overall I think the NHL 94 team did a great job of accurately representing the real players.

Yeah and Gretzky was a monster in the 92/93 playoffs. I single handedly took Kings to the finals with 40 points! Also he actually won the art ross in 1994. So yeah they should have made him better in the game.

  6. Sandman, can you play tonight after 10 pm Eastern? I'm Buffalo and have many games to play too.

I'll send you a pm on AIM too

10 Pm is abit too late. Its 4 in the morning here then. But I can probably make that time line on the weekend. 1pm-6pm is the best timeslot for me and on the weekend anytime would work
