Hey everyone. I've begun changing the logos on the rom and will post some progress. @c4outlaws thanks for posting. It gave me some head start on it.

Wait? What? You are able to change the centre ice logos for SNES NHL94? This would a break through that has never been seen on this site. And you would have a TON of us forever grateful. No one has ever been able to figure it out. How are you doing it?

  2. 2020 has been an amazing a year for the community. I believe it has been our GREATEST year ever! It has seen huge growth in community member, in our online presence, our social media presence,  and seen more roms being created perhaps more than any other year.

The SoChel Distancing tournament was a major success (156 registrations and nearly $5000 raised for charity) for this community . Many people that played  init are still around playing today. This resulted in the largest classic league ever (100+ registration for the first time). King of 94 was played online this year as well with 85 registrations. It has also been a great success!

NHL94 Rewind has also created massive interest in NHL94 again and I'll be looking to expand our presence/engagement on PS4 with the community that @McMikeyhas created there in the next couple of weeks. I'm hoping an online league will be the result of it.

The Bud of the year ,for me, is a good ambassador for the community and has done something extra special for the community during the past 12 months.

This year has four excellent choices for Bud of the Year.

    1. @chaos - He set up all of our online leagues for everyone throughout the last 12 months. He's worked with the Retroarch guys to help them improve their platform so that we can have a better experience with online play. He's answered many questions for people on their conenctions and set ups to help them getting up and running again.

    2. @danTML7 Dan has spent the last 12 months consistently helping people on facebook with answer to their questions in our facebook group and then re-directing them to our discord where he can help them get set up online. He's created many training videos for Sega players and has run several season of OPHL in that time.

3, @Jkline3 He went off this year creating a ton of roms for Sega that have resulted in a combined 1000+ downloads. He did US college roms (Atlantic, Big Ten, ECAC, Hockey East, NCHC, WCHA, Beanpoit, Frozen Four) as well as some CHL roms (QMJHL, OHL, WHL, Memorial Cup 2020)

    3. @smozoma - He starting streaming weekly Thursday games for the online classic league and spent tons of time broadcasting during Sochel and King of 94. He set up the website to allow for saved states to be recorded and stats saved for King of 94 for both SNES and Sega. He also spend a lot of time answer questions for people on our facebook page and group that are looking for help.

I know there are many others that contribute throughout the year. I picked these 4 because I think they are a cut above. However, feel free to use this thread to recognize others not listed in ways that have made your experience in the community much better.

    Voting closes December 31st!

@halifax - Apologies for the tardy response.  I have only just seen this, having just logged on for the first time in a few weeks.  For some reason, I have not been receiving email notifications (but that is an issue with my secondary account rather than this place).

I might have missed this somewhere, as I have been all over the place recently, but will this be available for online viewing?  I wouldn't mind throwing a few bucks the way of the tournament in any case if it helps towards the running of it, especially given how much I get out of the site for free.

Appreciate the offer bud but I’ll pass. Tournaments  I help organize, break even or incur a net loss from a budget perspective. And I’m happy to cover those “losses” from my own pocket because this a hobby for me. Organizing, playing and commentating is a ton of fun for this event.

looking forward to having you online bud!

  5. @McMikeyand I played tonight using Shareplay on PS4 and it proved to be a seamless experience.

So if you have NHL94 rewind on PlayStation, you can invite someone else to play with you (they don’t need the game, just PlayStation plus.)

I smell gigantic massive league / tournaments coming the near future.

There's not a cat's chance in hell of me entering this, as I would get my ass handed to me(!), but I'd be keen to watch any live streams if it ends up being on Twitch.

There will be a Duke of 94 "consolation" bracket for those that don't move on from the round robin in case you change your mind. Its $20 CAD. which is probably like Two pounds. :)
