  1. The Montreal Canadiens have embarrassed themselves and their entire organization in this series and playoffs with their diving. The entire hockey world is talking about it, and if I were a Canadiens fan I would be embarrassed at this point. WIN LIKE A MAN OR LOSE LIKE A MAN. I hope the Rangers curb-stomp them tonight. Sick of seeing that team in the playoffs. They are an EMBARRASSMENT to hockey and how it should be played. And that type of play comes from THE COACH so start with him.
  2. It looks like he's given up on it. Was supposed to be released before the playoffs started.
  3. Kreider is a fast skater who goes hard to the net, and it's worked for him. He's not going to change his style of play. He was pushed into Fleury against Pittsburgh, and Emelin tripped him against Montreal, thus causing him to crash into Price. The problem is not Kreider, it's that other teams defenseman can't catch up with him, so they either trip him up, or push him. Which causes him to crash into the goalie a lot of times. Not Kreider's fault. Kreider could have gotten hurt just as easily in that crash into Price, why would he risk injuring himself? Completely unintentional and that's what the Montreal coach said after the game. Then 2 days later, he changes his tune. Montreal is trying to fire their team up, they know the hit was unintentional. Kreider is not dirty, he is just too fast for the opposition. Blame Emelin for wacking Kreider's legs, that's why Price is injured. How is Kreider going to avoid contact going 30 MPH to the net? He couldn't.
  4. That would probably explain why it wasn't working in my KEGA emulator. LOL
  5. I extracted it with 7-zip and got some smc file. Still won't run. Oh well guess I cant play it. Thanks for the help though.
  6. I'd like to play but I'm not sure how to open it. It's not a bin file. Can't get it to open in my emulator. It's funny you added water bottles, I was just dabbling into doing that myself a few weeks ago. But I had to change to color pallette in order to get the green/orange for the bottle, thus, had to change the color of the net. And I didnt like the way it came out. I prefer the original pink/white net colors. But would love to see how yours came out. How do you open the rom?
  7. Whatever happened to NHL95.com? Such a cool site, I miss it. They had updated versions of NHL 95 with redesigned rinks and everything. Then one day it just disappeared.
  8. If you play 93 for any amount of time you'll see it's a lot easier to ram the goalie. The puck may not always go in the net, but often the goalie will at least MOVE a little bit. In 94 the goalie is a little too stiff, almost like every goaltender is brock lesnar. Sure you can ram it through once in a while but the goalie doesnt move near as much in 94 as he does in 93. The video you posted is not really what I was talking about. When I said blast the puck past the goalie, I meant literally THROUGH the goalie, as in the puck hitting the goalie and trickling by him. Either through his legs, his arm, etc. You dont really see that in 94. But in 93 you do see it more often. How hard a player shoots means a lot more in 93 than it does in 94, in my opinion. The goalie will often get a piece of the puck but it will trickle by him, more similar to real life hockey. What I like about 93 is you can score in more ways. 5-hole, puck trickling by after the goalie gets a piece of it etc. But don't get me wrong, there are things in 94 I like better than 93. I do enjoy one timers and goalie control is a great feature I wish 93 had, I admit that. Especially now with the "goalie control 1 buttom patch". I also love the player cards in 94 and also the home team logos. This is why I play BOTH games, depnding on what mood I'm in. Each game has it's own positive features.
  9. Yeh 91 is a blast. A little fast but I think that has to do with the way the game was converted to the U.S. version of the Genesis. In other countries it plays at the same speed as 94. But the sped up factor makes it alot of fun when you get used to it. Theres actually a way to create the same "speed effect" thats in 91 in 92, 93, or 94 but I forget how exactly to do it. Something has to be changed in hex editor.
  10. A lot of people prefer the way 93 plays compared to 94. The puck doesn't bounce the same. The bounces in 93 are less predictable. Hard slapshots can actually penetrate the goalie. In 94 it's very difficult to "blast" the puck through a netminder. Yes there is no goalie control in 93 however you can control the goalie with the way your defense plays. There are lots of fun things in 93 that arent there in 94. For example in 94 when a player runs into a goalie 99% of the time its like running into a brick wall. But in 93 you can sometimes smash through the goalie if you hit him right, and score that way lol. There are a lot more rebounds in 93. In 94 the puck "sticks" to the goalie more, but in 93 there are more bounes. Honestly though its hard to run a league so I understand there only being a 94 league, and I'm happy it always does so well. But I have to point out 93 and 94 do not play the same at all and if you play them both for any period of time you will see that. They are different games and really only share the same graphics. There are people here who dont play 94, and only play 93. If 94 was the same game as 93 but with goalie control and one timers everyone would prefer 94. But thats not the case. And some people dont like one timers. There are times where I prefer to play 93 because the game can actually be more fun sometimes without one timers. It forces you to be more creative with the way you score.
  11. I would love to join a 93 league. 93's game engine is completely different than 94's. I have to laugh at people who say "93 is just 94 except it doesnt have one timers" and lately people have been trashing the fighting in the game, as if its a bad thing (when we all know if fighting could somehow be inserted into 94, everyone here would do it in a heartbeat). 93 doesnt have one timers but the gameplay is wicked fun, and completely different than 94. I'd love to join a 93 league but people are too hung up on 94. Dont get me wrong I love 94 and love the updated roms but 93 is a totally different game.
  12. I'm just curious about what exactly the "hot cold" bug in NHL 94 is, and if there is a patch to fix this available. Thanks!
  13. I downloaded hex editor and use it frequently, but it says my "evaluation period" will expire in 10 days. Does anyone have the pass code to unlock it so it will stop bugging me about expiring? Thanks!
  14. I am looking for the goalie control patch. I know several members here have it, as they have applied it to various roms. If someone could direct me where to get it, or send it to me, I'd be very appreciative! Thank you all so much!
  15. heres a picture of the problem - http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/850/helmetpicl.jpg/
  16. The Bruins are going to have to get past the BEST team in the NHL first, the NY Rangers, before they can think of a rematch with Vancouver! How about a '94 rematch?
  17. I tried the helmet patch from pixel puck's site and it seemed to work great! But when a player takes a penalty, the patch messes up and the helmet reverts back to the jersey color. Is there any way to fix this? I noticed in clockwise NHL 12 rom, this doesnt happen and the helmet patch works fine. Thanks!
  18. Thank you for the reply! Unfortunately, I applied the patch to a couple of roms and it messed up the graphics. I'm looking for just a helmet and stick patch. With no changes to any other graphics like the bench, etc. I couldnt even edit the messed up graphics out, because when I tried it seemed to all of a sudden start sharing tiles in spots it usually wouldnt. Oh well.
  19. I am looking for a Stick Tape and Helmet patch WITHOUT the updated trapezoid, or updated bench. Its for a rom I am working on. Can someone help a brother out?
  20. I can't find it anywhere on this site or anywhere else. Thanks.
  21. I am working on some early 90's hacks for NHL 94 and have gotten ok with tile molester. I noticed in clockwise's nhl 11 and nhl 12 roms he has the correct helmet colors for montreal, chicago etc. Is there a patch for that available anywhere? I'd also like to know if there is a hockey tape patch. I think I saw one on here somwhere, but it came packaged with a trapezoid and those half sqaures around the faceoff circles. Since I'm working on an older rom I'd just like the stick tape patch and the helmet color patch. Is there any way to do it by myself if there is no patch? Thanks!
