  1. Fo sho hokkee, these guys are rat bums. I mean whose tickenest and that habs scrub? no one knows who these guys are, we always talk trash about them because they cant seem to win the big one, they deserve no respect. If were gonna by that theory. Then whose that bum Angryjay93? i mean that fool got bounced by hokkee in Gens A fall and got bitchslapped by Pill in the draft league finals. Man, that guy should just forget about playing again because aint no one gonna remember who he is.
  2. These are the type of comments i live for when i read Hokkee rants.
  3. I personally like the East- West format for the most part. East: Pitts- Matthurray NYR- vocally caged OTT- mike NJ-Magus Buf- AJ BOS- gr81 FLA- Skool MTL-Habs NYI- Scribe West: Chi- EA LA- Kings Van- DMAC CGY- hokkee STL- Stumpy SJ- ED ANH- Dadonch TOR- JJ EDM- Pill With the retirement of Backhander that opens up a spot and Ranatoro has yet to register which leaves 1-2 spots open for new players. With the Pill and JJ situation,im not assiging them teams, i just put both in the West with teams they desire to allow one spot in each conference. So right now we have 7 teams that made the playoffs in the East, 8 if Ranatoro takes Hartford again and 4 in the West, so now it seems the East would be stronger to the naked eye. The West has potential though , DMAC is improving, hokkee is an established veteran who took over a team he didnt draft and competed well. Dadonch is developing into a good player as well who can do some damage. Also ED and JJ may benefit from their hard times last season with a better draft position, better draft tactics and improvement in play. So if Ranatoro goes east, and say we let carse in the west we have a pretty good situation here. If people still arent pleased, i would drop Buffalo (since i dont care too much about teams) and JJ could take Quebec as he stated he would like after Toronto and i would take over Winnpeg in the West. What does everyone think of this sort of scenario?
  4. Today i was riding in my car thinking about the organ music from NHL 94 and i just happend to look down at my phone and i realized i had a record sound function. So with a little creativity i have recorded the San Jose music when a goal is scored and set it as a ring tone, now thats what im talking about when i hear my phone ring from now on.
  5. Ok, so here is the break down of the massive 9 user trade we've had. Ed gets- San Jose EA gets- Chicago Kings gets- LA Habs gets- MTL dmac gets- VAN gr81 gets- BOS AJ93 gets- BUf Skool gets- FLA DaDonch gets- ANH There is one controversey though. Both Pill and JJ want Toronto. So that looks like the main issue we have left to resolve. Hopefully that breaks it down and puts it all into one nice pretty little package
  6. Now that i have had time to think about this and that i see that EA will now be taking over Chicago, i would like to drop Quebec and pick up Boston. It just seems more intimidating to have people coming into the Boston Gardens rather than the Colisee de Quebec.
  7. angryjay 93 is back for more Former team: San Jose Sharks New Team: I have swapped teams with ed, the former quebec owner. If anyone is intersted in the Nordiques, they are up for grabs as i will trade for most anything.
  8. Sometimes, there is only so much one team can do, and the San Jose Sharks did everything in their power this series to take it down, but the Philadelphia Flyers came on too strong and fate did not look fondly upon the Sharks as they lost a grueling series in 6 games. Game 1- Mark Recchi played the role of bum as he hit two big posts including one to win the game for the Sharks. Alas, the Flyers took it into overtime and potted one home to take the 5-4 win and a 1-0 series lead Game 2- Late in the third of a 4-3 game Ray Bourque busted through the middle of an open Flyers defense to go 1 on 1 with Beezer. As soon as Bourque attempted his deke, his skates wouldnt turn (game lagged) and he continued to proceed running into the goalie and blowing a glorious chance. Dino Ciccarelli took advantage of an out of position Bourque and slammed a goal home to give the 5-3 lead to the Flyers who ended up taking a 5-4 win in game 2 and a 2-0 lead back to Philly. Game 3- San Jose finally decided to show up, but it took until the 3rd period for the Sharks to show a pulse as they tied the game up in the 3rd at 3. A goal in ot finally gave the sharks their first win. Game 4- In the first few minutes of the game Pierre Turgeon hit the post on a slam dunk goal and this was the typical theme for the rest of the game. The Flyers just skated all over the ice as if they were playing against a pee-wee squad. Taking liberties left and right being granted by impartial Sharks players which led to an 8-1 rout and a 3-1 series lead. Game 5- San Jose started slowly once again with a few missed oppourtunities, but were able to leg out this game and send the series back to Philly with a 6-4 win. Game 6- A game that typified this series, more Philly domination as they skated around the ice and converting their big chances as they took advantage of some great bounces that went there way. The sharks fought to the last drop, but the gods and philly had enough of their antics as the Flyers took the cup in a 5-4 win. I must say, Philly had an amazing matchup against my team, it just seemed like i was chasing the puck a lot and getting knocked on my keester all the time. I had my chances to win this series, but i think that goal post was the early MVP canidate for this series. The slow start just kind of killed whatever i had going for me and it was really tough to try and shut down Klima and Ciccarelli when they were being used brilliantly. Congratulations on the win Pill, i just wish my best had showed up today so things may have been a little different.
  9. dont worry guys, we have plans to get it on saturday, so not much of a wait hopefully.
  10. It looks like ill be answering my own question here. In the 2000 Stanley Cup the 4th seeded New Jersey Devils faced off against the 2nd seeded Dallas Stars. Dallas had 102 points and New Jersey had 103, thus it mirrors the current situation in our league. New Jersey ended up reciving home ice as they would have been the home team for game 7 had the series gone that far. So there i go answering my own question, a job well done i must say Angryjay.
  11. Philly had the higher seed in their conference, but San Jose had more points in the season, so who gets the extra game on home ice?
  12. Looks like Soddy can keep his job for one more series, he wont need the mop quite yet.
  13. Hey dmitry, i would just like to ask if you could make it available for me to log the games from the Conference finals whenever you have the time to do so, thank you.
  14. Today the San Jose Sharks were able to pull a huge upset over the league dominating Chicago Blackhawks by taking the Western Conference Finals in 6 games. San Jose was able to pull off the upset by being able to score goal after goal on the leagues top defense during the league. Russ Courtnall played incredible for the Hawks, but no one else was able to step up in order to help his heroic performance. Results of the series are provided below. Game 1: 6-5 Chi OT Game 2: 6-4 SJ Game 3: 5-4 Chi OT Game 4: 6-3 SJ Game 5: 4-2 SJ Game 6: 10-4 SJ "This is just an incredible thing we were able to pull off, to beat a team in a 7 game series that only had 9 losses all year is a nearly impossible task to pull off, but we managed to somehow do it. We just got on a roll from the start and we never stopped, we kept coming and coming and its exactly what we had to do to take this series," said softspoken defenseman Alexei Gusarov. Chicago though put up one hell of a fight as they never quit throughout the whole series and just kept coming and coming no matter what. The Hawks had an early hold over the series with two huge overtime victories to stifle what would have been Sharks comebacks. But Courtnall couldn't do all the work, Sergei Fedorov, Ed Belfour and Geoff Sanderson all had sub par performances which led to the Hawks fall. "That was a great team we played out there, they probably deserve to be in the finals more than us, they just wiped everybody out throught the whole season and they just dominated Vancouver in the semis, we got a lot of good bounces and a lot of real fortunate things to fall our way," said Mark Recchi. Now the Sharks will be moving out of the West as they will await the winner of the Philadelphia-Pittsburgh series in the East. The Shars will be the likely underdog once again as they will face one of the top two dogs from the east. "We're used to the underdog role by now, we were underdogs throught this whole playoffs, we've had some people back us, but very few people thought we could get to where we are today. No matter what people expect next round, were going to come out hard and do everything we can to win that cup, we obviously have a team that can do it," said the Captain Pierre Turgeon. Good series Backhander, im still in shock over what happend today, i was totally expecting to get mopped up by you. I hope you dont retire, this community would miss you too much.
  15. so far im 3 out of 4 so far in picking conference finalists, unfortunately i busted my own bracket, keeping me from getting the whole conference finals picture correct.
  16. how about that jimmy carson feller down in l.a.? now thats what im talking about.
  17. this is what i think will happen to tommy soderstrom after sergei fedorov has his way with him in the conference finals.
  18. so far so good, thank you for putting in the time to develop the stats page and allowing us to log the games, hopefully this brings a little more life to the community.
  19. In an attempt to add a little more life and zest to the boards, lets see how people predict the Sharks-Hawks series will turn out.
  20. In a long, grueling series that tested the wills of every player on the ice, the San Jose Sharks managed to outlast the Kings in what will go down as one of the most memorable series of all time. The matchup featured two teams who were complete opposites of each other. The Kings featured Jeremey Roenick, Briand Bradley, and Don Sweeney that led a bruising defensive minded team to a second place finish and a first round bye in the conference finals. The Sharks featured the likes of Pierre Turgeon, Mark Recchi, and Jimmy Carson that razzled and dazzled their way to the 5th seed and an upset victory over the 4th seeded Boston Bruins in the first round. Neither style prevailed as both teams locked horns for 7 exhausting games of momentum changing goals, saves, and hits. The results of each game are below. Game 1: 4-3 OT LA Game 2: 3-2 SJ Game 3: 4-3 OT SJ Game 4: 4-3 LA Game 5: 4-3 LA Game 6: 4-3 OT SJ Game 7: 4-3 SJ 7 one goal games, 3 overtime games and 6 games that ended with a 4-3 score. Jeremey Roenick provided some late game heroics in game 5 as he conducted an incredible come back to score two goals in the last 70 seconds. Roenick provided timely goal scoring and great defense all series. Joe Niuewendyk pitched in with a pair of goals in game 7 to make up for Brian Bradleys lack of production throughout the series. On the San Jose side, Mark Recchi did everything he could to keep with Roenick, Carson pithced in a few timely goals and Turgeon finally came alive with a hat trick in game 7. Alexei Gusarov scored two big goals in the series to keep the sharks alive in game 2 and game 6. "We arent sure just how many people out there gave us a chance in this series. We faced an absolute defensive powerhouse in LA and we knew we werent going to score all the time on them, we just had to stay solid in our own zone and convert whatever few chances we were going to get," said the Captain Pierre Turgeon. No lead was safe in this series as San Jose took countless leads into the 3rd period only to seem the evaporate and then have to reestablish them. "This was just a sick series, there were no big leads, no one really dominated out there, everything was just an absolute battle, LA gave us a hell of a time, one bounce going in there direction could have changed the whole series and we could be going golfing right now. Instead, we kept battling by coming back in game 6 and 7 to grind out some victories, a series like this one will only make us stronger, we never feel we are out of it and this only strengthens that belief," said an exhausted Recchi. There is still more on the table for the Sharks though, they will now face the vaunted Chicago Blackhawks who absolutely mopped up the league this year en route to the top seed in the west and showed their power in a 4 game sweep against an upstart Vancouver team. "We're going into a series with a team that just had our number all year, but were playing the best hockey of the season right now and they will have to win this series, were not going to give it to them. If we thought we were underdogs these last two series, it doesnt compare to this one, were gonna come at Chicago, were not going to let them stay comfortable, were going to give them everything can handle and see where everthing falls, thats all a coach can ask for," said coach Angry jay in a post game conference. Good series, gr81, you nearly gave me a heart attack with all those one goal games. i didnt think it was possible, but this series tops the one i had with hokkeefan a few months ago.
  21. i agree with both of you, these playoffs are dragging out and i take some of the blame. i was in school the last month and it was a 4 week semester and i had two classes, i jsut finished up finals and getting games in for me has been tough. these last few days though i have been available but have found very few exhibition games to keep me sharp so im not in a hurry to dive into a playoff series with a top 3 defensive team when im rusty. hopefully me and gr81 can do our series saturday along with BHF and habs. i apologize for our part of taking forever with these playoffs.
  22. im being involved in a three way to get toronto? man,i wish i knew something about that deal supposedly involving me. all i know is that as soon as im elminated or some how win the whole thing, i will be taking over quebec, im not a big fan of taking over toronto (being rivals of ottawa and all). i think the three way your looking for is involving kings cup run and habs, they own montreal and vancouver respectively. i think kings interest in toronto is minimal though.
  23. i guess the idea of handing out individual trophies didnt quite catch on, oh well.
  24. ive been looking for gr81, but whenever i message him i get no response. im trying to set up a time to play you dude. i need a few days because i havent played much since friday, i just wish people were on for me to get some exhibitions going. i need to get a few games under my belt before i try my luck with you, so hopefully thursday will be the day to get things going. let me know what your week is like so we can get this series in.
  25. were not really looking for much at all. just something where we can view the boxscores. thats the main thing i hear people wanting to see, outside of that, it would all be gravy and isnt neccessary at this moment, we can wait on player stats and a bracket.
