  1. No, I'm still not coming out of retirement. Legit excuse though, real spotty internet connection. Plus no more controller :(

Nevertheless, I should be a more frequent visitor to the NHL discussion threads, especially with the Rangers leading the East and the Devils being good again :P

REMEMBER THE <insert high amount of losses here> LOSING STREAKS, REMEMBER 24-2 IN THE DRAFT LEAGUE THAT ONE SEASON! Put it together, and you have the man with the lowest win % in NHL94.com history :P

Also, for the new guys who think they suck now...you haven't sucked until you've lost like 40 games in a row. You haven't sucked until you've lost a game by 20 + goals. You haven't sucked until you got everyone feeling bad about beating you :P

  2. Didn't think I'd be returning like this, but...

Former NHL enforcer Bob Probert died after collapsing in a boat in Ontario on Monday, police told The Windsor Star. He was 45.

OPP spokeswoman Shawna Coulter told the paper that emergency crews performed CPR on Probert on the shore of Lake St. Clair in Windsor, Ontario, before transporting him to Windsor Regional Hospital.

While playing for the Detroit Red Wings from 1985-86 to 1993-94, Probert was charged several times with driving under the influence. He also was caught trying to carry cocaine from Canada into the United States, and served a prison term.

He was placed on inactive status for the 1994-95 season after he was involved in a motorcycle accident and tests showed alcohol and cocaine in his system.

Probert retired in November 2003 after 17 seasons with the Red Wings and the Chicago Blackhawks. He finished his career with 163 goals, 384 points and 3,300 penalty minutes -- fourth in NHL history -- in 935 games.

Probert's family has called a 6 p.m. news conference at the hospital.

The greatest fighter in hockey history is dead. Long live Bob Probert.

  3. As a big time Devils fan, losing Brodeur is big. I have questions about our offense though, we've never really been a strong team offensively. We've always had quality defense, and usually we would score just enough goals to get by.

That said, I also think the Devils will be able to do just enough to hang around in the playoff picture until Brodeur returns. When he does return, that could easily be enough to get the 8 seed.

  4. I have to win out to have a chance. Remember, this is SSiG we're talking about. :P

I'm capable of winning two or three games, but unless the opponents are absolute garbage (which they aren't), I do not believe I'm capable of a big run. I figure I'm gonna be doomed to 3rd or 4th in the region.

As for my availability: I will be available later tonight. Just catch me when I don't have an away message up, even if it means being a dirty little stalker. :P

  5. Confirmed...remember, you show me someone who tries too hard when it doesn't matter, and I'll show you who can't see the big picture. It isn't like I'm making the 2nd round, so this is pretty much target practice for next classic season.

gl the rest of the way :D

First two games were morale breakers since we couldn't hit or pass for our lives. Just like the New York Mets, we had one good game, then back into the fetal position. This series definitely sends me back down to earth after my encouraging start. Yay for not making it out of the 1st league stage this season.
