  1. Hey everyone. I've decided to sell my NHL 94/95 themed bartop. It was a fun little project. Really enjoyed making it and playing on it but I need the space for other projects and the funds for Christmas shopping wouldn't hurt. If anyone in the New England area is interested in it, shoot me a message and we'll talk.
  2. If anyone wants to see the cab in person I'm bringing it to RetroWorld Expo in hartford, CT on October 14th and 15th of this year. King Ralph will also be there running the NHL 94 Tourney.
  3. Dirp, you're right. I used NHL 95 art because I'm a big NYR fan (same reason for control panel art, 94 Game 7 face off) but I used the NHL 94 Logo, felt more iconic.
  4. Thanks, man. Just a hobby for now. Been playing and collecting games for a long time. Over the last few years, I've been leaning more towards the arcade stuff and I like making custom things too. If I could replace my day job's income with this kind of work I would do it. I'd even take less, all about being happy, right? As long as the wife and kids are taken care of. I;m good.
  5. Thanks for all the kind words, guys. If I do another, I would probably do a YouTube series as the build went along. To answer the questions... I went with Sanwa JLF Joysticks for a few reasons. I had already done Bat Top Happ Joysticks in my previous build so I wanted some variety. Also, I thought they would work well for the occasional game of Street Fighter. The keyboard encoder is an Ultimarc iPAC2, simple and effective The artwork is custom, my design with art lovingly borrowed from NHL 94. The side art is a super high res scan from the front of the Geneis box and I added the logos on the bottom. The artwork on the CP and the zamboni on the front panel were high res screenshots pulled from Fusion. The bezel was the most time consuming part. I loaded up Fusion, selected the first 2 teams, captured that screen, opened the capture in photoshop and cut out just the logo and placed it on my Bezel image. Took a little time but the result is fantastic. All of the logos have that classic feel. I wouldn't sell this particular one, but if anyone really wants one, I can put together pricing for all the components so that you can assemble one: The cabinet, keyboard encoder, buttons, joysticks, marquee, bezel, artwork, basically everything except the PC and monitor. I could even apply all the artwork for you and then ship it to you. Hit me up if you are curious about pricing. As far as getting this thing to Vegas for KO94 2, all that would take is a plane ticket for me and my friend here
  6. Thanks! I had a bunch more pics to post of it running but the site may be limiting how many pics I can insert. You can check the rest of the images out here: http://imgur.com/a/iCuyO
  7. Thanks! It works great. There is a mini ITX PC inside running Windows 10 and Hyperspin/RocketLauncher. Joysticks and buttons all work, they are wired into an Ultimarc iPAC.
  8. I hope this is the right spot in the forum to post this. For a little over a year, I've been working on a tabletop arcade project. I decided to do an NHL 94 theme. Enjoy and feel free to ask any questions about the build.

  11. I'm working on an NHL 94/95 themed bartop arcade and I wanted to use the center ice logos for each team on the monitor bezel. Before I fire up the emulator and do screen caps of each center ice logo, I was just wondering if anyone had already done that and shared the logos somewhere. If not, I'll be glad to share them once im done.
  12. You just read my mind a little bit. I was in TM working on the palette and comparing my shot to the Stamkos one and I thought "this would look a lot better if there were fewer colors...."
  13. Dirp, of course! I changed the palette in order to see Stamkos appear properly so that palette was still active, thanks. I guess I could also get the rbg values from the lundqvist bmp in Photoshop and edit the palette colors with the rgb values in TM.
  14. Alright, I'm getting closer! When I looked more closely at the original bmp I exported from the original ROM, I noticed that the color depth was 24 bit and the image I had tried to use was 16 bit. I re-did my Lundqvist photo at 24 bit and it imported just fine and now it does have that "Genesis" look i was looking for. The only problem now is adjusting the palette. I guess TM tried to match up with the photo, but is slightly off. I've read a little about doing it from a save state file but I need to do a little more research on how to optimize the palette when importing an original photo. The colors are pretty close so I guess I should be able to adjust the color tiles until it looks right.
  15. Ok, maybe if I describe what I'm doing, someone can tell me what the problem is. I want to replace the title screen in a custom NHL 12 rom. I navigated to the title screen in TM (1125A6), adjusted the appropriate settings (4bpp linear, 32x28 canvas size, palette offset 1152422 9bpp BRG 64 Motorola) and I see the original title backround perfectly: I then exported the original title screen as a bmp and checked the image properties. I then cropped my new image to the same resolution as the bmp taken from the original (256x224): When I import my new title image into the same place the original was, this is what it looks like: Also, the original has a distinctly "Genesis" or "16-bit" look to it while my cropped photo looks like a photo. I'd rather have it look like it is from a Genesis game. I know I'm doing something wrong, I just don't know what...yet.
