  1. annatar is prepping for the inevitable riot tomorrow night after the B's win. He told me to let you know that his top 3 picks were Hartford, Dallas, and SJ
  2. Hammers shall be dropped. 8 men enter, one man leave.
  3. This rom absolutely rules. What about making a tough guys version of '92? That would allow for post-whistle fights, although you'd be missing out on 93's head-bleeding ko's... Last night I was playing the cpu STL team and I knocked out Bill Plager who hit his head on the ice and was out for the game. As soon as I got out of the box I was challenged by none other than his brother Bob Plager!!! I subsequently ko'd Bob who also suffered a game-ending injury. Awesome stuff.
  4. How about focusing on how great of a series it was? 4 of 6 games went to OT with numerous last-minute comebacks and dramatic game-winners. Can't ask for much more as a hockey fan.
  5. Are you guys only talking about gens or both systems? As far as I know there aren't any SNES leagues currently running and I guarantee we could get 15-20 dependable players to sign up for spring.
  6. Thank you hali! Great league. Seeing every player complete a 56 game season is just awesome. Having a bunch of us all watching the Fank/BD mama's cup games live to cap off the season was a perfect ending. I wanted to do a Dynasty Season 1 recap thread but I'll just throw a quick one in here. Some end of the year awards: Individual Leaders Most points: Mogilny (boknows) 237, Lemieux (annatar) was hot on his heels with 233 Most goals: Mogilny (boknows) 181 - holy s**t. 48% of his shots went in and he led the league with 377 of them. Most assists: TIE - Ridley (annatar) and Sanderson (Northway) with 99 Lowest GAA (Minimum 50 games) - Roy (Northway) 3.11 also led league in save % with .685 Most assists by goalie - Vanbiesbrook (jbalicki) 38 Beezer the playmaker. Individual Award Winners Hart Memorial Trophy (MVP) Mogilny (boknows) Led the league in goals, points, shots on goal, and was 2nd in shooting % Conn Smythe Trophy (Playoff MVP) Neely (bobkudelski) Lemieux put up the most points in the playoffs (59) but Neely was the hero with 3 consecutive goals (including the cup-clincher in OT) in the championship game 7. Art Ross Trophy (Most points) Mogilny (boknows) Vezina Trophy (Best Goalie) Roy (Northway) Led the league in GAA, save %, and wins (45) James Norris Memorial Trophy (Best Defenseman) Chelios (Northway) Led all defenseman in goals (39), assists (64) and total points (103). Nice work! Most Impressive Gens Bud - Brutus (Michigan) Transitioning from Gens to Snes is like going from rollerblades to ice skates. Brutus put up a highly respectable record of 31-24 in his first Snes season! Dynasty Season 1 Champion - Bobkudelski26 (Ott Civics) Bob came into the playoffs as a 4th seed and upset the #1 and #2 seeds in a row. Awesome stuff. Congrats Bob and runner-up annatar! Dynasty Season 1 Mama's Donuts Cup Champion - Fank009 (Birmingham) Broadcast LIVE on FankTV™, Fank took out BlackDevil19 (Czech) in a hotly contested series. Congrats Fank and Black D! That's all I've got, thanks everybody for the awesome season. I'm in favor of penalties ON (same reasons as annatar) and wouldn't mind trying out 1 minute penalties.
  7. Just let me know, I'm not in a huge hurry but lets get it done by Sunday.
  8. Yeah, there's definitely a road handicap that kicks in sometimes on the snes version as well. It's an even playing field though since it affects everyone, not just you. I b|tch about it sometimes but I'd never take it to this level where you are basically curling up in fetal position and crying in text form. Get it together, dude.
  9. What time zone are you in? I usually get home from work at around 6PM MST.
  10. Lets do Friday or Saturday Kashim, I'll keep an eye out for you on AIM
  11. Wow, "Amonte Python and the Hidden Smail" , "One Flew Over the Ruutuu's Nest" and "Hrudey" are amazing. Gagner With the Wind The Thin Red Odelein The Good, the Bad, and the Ricci
  12. You're the only person I have yet to play and I really want to get 56 games completed. Let's figure out a date and time this week if possible. I'll be on pretty much every night from 6PM MST til around 10 give or take an hour.
  13. Get this guy in the superbuds group pronto. http://nhl94online.com/html/getting-started.php Go there then add all the snes guys on AIM, I'm fromdacradle2dagrave@yahoo.com add me and I can help you get set up.
  14. Easy solution for you hokkee: buy a bunch of wrestling mats and convert your bedroom into a padded cell. That way you can flip out without putting a bunch of holes in your drywall, it's an investment that should pay for itself within a year or so.
  15. Did I just read that the get up bug was "realistic" Kashim? You're on drugs, hallucinogens to be more specific. Nobody takes a big hit in the open ice (in real life) and gets up immediately, yes they get up but it takes a couple seconds unless you just got hit by Scott Stevens, in which case you probably aren't getting up. There's nothing realistic about getting checked to the ice, popping up instantaneously, then hooking the player who just laid you out. I voted get up bug because I don't play gens, but (as far as I know) the weight bug can be hacked, the get up bug cannot. The GUB is incredibly unrealistic and frustrating, and although I've gotten used to it from playing online, I still hate it.
  16. Thanks Bob, I'd say Oilers would get home ice since A1 was probably the stronger division overall (no offense to A2 guys).
  17. Thanks halifax and thanks to mr. Balicki for the great series. Now I'd like to officially throw down the gauntlet and challenge oilers442 to an A1 vs. A2 grudge match for the all the marbles...Whale against Oil.
  18. One thing that Gens has over SNES is the goddamn press Y and instantly get up (and hook your opponent) from a check thing. I absolutely HATE that glitch in SNES, it's maddening to lay a guy out with a nice hit only to have him instantly levitate, hook you, and you lose the puck. I can't believe the programmers let the glitch make it into the final version. If you're not familiar with it then you probably haven't played much online since literally every player does it, you're pretty much at a disadvantage if you don't do it. Also the goalie interference penalties are out of control in SNES, and can be complete BS when the opposing goalie leaves the crease to check you and you end up with a penalty. All that being said, SNES > GENS easy, but keep in mind this is coming from an extremely biased SNES 94 player who's been playing it since the day it came out. Gens just has too much of an arcade vibe and the skating/passing is so much more "loose" feeling as opposed to the tight SNES controls. At the end of the day it really doesn't matter though, it's just awesome that so many people still play each version and that we're all part of such a great community.
  19. I'll be around Sunday, lets play our dynasty and 3 on 3
  20. I know Balicki works nights and I work days so this weekend during the day sometime? I work some saturdays so sunday is my best bet.
  21. can you guys record some of the games? would be awesome.
  22. Sunday, Sunday, Sunday! Two titans of A2 shall clash, leaving chaos and destruction in their wake! Can Andrew Cassels cure his pass-botching ways and light the lamp? Will Pondhcky implement the "skate Bourque coast-to-coast in a straight line and score" strategy? Will Zarley Zalapski cement his name in the annals of history with a clutch performance? Will Vladimir Ruzicka come off the bench and wreck shop? Will one of the competitors end up typing "ggs" using fingers wet with fresh tears of defeat? Find out on Sunday, Sunday, Sunday!!! (Read in monster truck announcer voice)
