  1. Do new coaches need to have their confirmation game played by the registration end date (August 26, 2007 12AM ET)? Or are they allowed to play it after the registration deadline, as long as they have signed-up?

If not, some newbs need to get on board- there are 27 of 70 (around 40%) GENS new coaches that don't look to be confirmed yet and the clock is ticking...

  2. where did you see that?

I did a search but all I found was patrick lebeau being invited to the flyers camp at the age of 37....could this be it instead?

It is Patrick Lebeau, the much lesser of the two, being invited to Philadelphia Flyers training camp. Sorry about the mix-up 'Faxy, HFboards.com had one confusing thread on it last night (claiming a 37 year-old Lebeau to Montreal training camp) but has since corrected the information.

  3. Just realized that I have done the same thing, but with different specifics. For the GENS league, I accidentally signed up for the 40-game league instead of the 20-game league.

Can Evan or Jacob could fix this please? :)

(will also send e-mail to NHL94admin address)

  4. It would be nice to have the GDL, GEL and Classic somewhat coordinated so they're not all starting at the same time.

The GDL and GEL should take a lesson from the '94 Classic League and have the dates for everything (registration start date, registration end date, season start date, season end date, playoff start date, playoff end date) firmly established from the outset.

The '94 Classic League is the most organized, well-run and thoughtfully-planned league (the website speaks volumes). It's up to whoever runs those two other leagues (and whatever other leagues are being planned) to work around what the Classic League has already arranged, if one is seeking coordination.

  5. To Jamonica: You just blew my mind. I never knew that either. Damn, I wish they still had that team... what a great logo.

Yeah, I can't say I disagree. Life was much simpler it seems when teams like the Expos were around. At least we won't have to worry about that happening to the Canadiens.

  6. Jamonica,

that's hilarious...I was just thinking about the old montreal expos logo. I remember going to an expos game in '82...my dad bought me an expos hat.... and I asked my dad what 'elb' stood for.

    'Faxy,

Haha, what a nice vintage memory! When I was younger, that used to be one of my favorite logos to draw. I would doodle it all over notebooks and on papers, but I never really understood what I was drawing. It took me some time until I figured out what was going on in that logo.

How are things going in Calgary?? ;)

  7. i just want to vouch for the idea of pulling your goalie and putting in bums, i just started trying it a few days ago and i just finished my stanley cup playoff run with the quebec nordiques.

5 minute periods, penalties-no offsides, 7 game series.

conference quarters: win 4-0 vs penguins

conference semis: win 4-3 vs canadiens

conference finals: win 4-3 vs flyers

stanley cup finals: win 4-3 vs red wings

It seemed like as i went deeper and deeper i became more and more of a joke on home ice as i couldnt ever seem to win a game at home...game 6 at home against detroit was especially pathetic as i lost 12-4. But i managed to pull out three different game 7s with the starting line up of...

    lw: Tony Twist 29g-32a-61p

    c: Gino Cavallini 50g-70a-120p

    rw: Chris Simon 73g-38a-111p

    ld: Steve Finn 15g-18a-33p

    rd: Craig Wolanin 10g-27a-37p

    xa: Scott Young 46g-33a-79p

I tried this as well with the Flames...

Conference Quarterfinals: Won Series against Vancouver, 4-0

Conference Semifinals: Won Series against Chicago, 4-2 (missed out on a match-up with Detroit)

Conference Finals: Won Series against St. Louis, 4-1

Stanley Cup Finals: Won Series against Buffalo, 4-2 (missed out on a match-up with Pittsburgh)

    Greg Paslawski: 43-41-84

    Craig Berube: 44-37-81

    Ronnie Stern: 55-36-91

    Alexander Godynyuk: 16-41-57

    Greg Smyth: 5-21-26

    Robert Reichel: 48-56-104

  8. I had no right to do what i did... and words cannot express how sorry i feel, because i did love this league... and to be honest.. i always will...

And i want to thank you Brown, Jackets... and everyone else for letting me be part of it.... Maybe we should bring it back... but this time... make it a much smaller league... like 12 owners.... 6 per conference... and 4 from each conference go to the playoffs. Then for the 2nd round, switch it up and have the best east team face the 2nd best west team... and vise versa *like the NHL did in the 70's.*

I dont know... but im willing to rebuild this league... if Brown wants to.. :( and once i did.. Brown could remove my admin status right away.

Then again after what i did, i dont deserve to be in the league if it came back.

How many times have you done something of poor taste in the NHL 94/07 league, then come back expressing great regret/remorse for your actions? It seems like enough times that I've lost count. The script of you doing something wrong (again), saying your're sorry (again) and asking for forgiveness (again) is grossly over-played. Your childish behavior, actions and attitude were major factors in why I personally dropped from that league. Not trying to be extremely cruel here Pizza, only honest. Seems like you have worn out your welcome.

If Brown would ever do the league again, hope he would save himself the headache of involving you as an owner or an admin.

  9. I could've sworn the league was keeping it dark at home. What's the point of switching it to white at home only to switch it back to dark at home once the alternates are back?

I suppose the NHL could really only give you an answer to your question. They are in fact going back to whites at home next year, which is good. I still don't understand why they went to teams wearing dark at home, after years of the home team wearing white. A change really wasn't needed and the NHL, like usual, seemed to make a change just for the sake of change. I never (still don't) got used to seeing the home teams wearing dark and am glad the NHL realized this mistake. They also made a good decision (gasp) on getting rid of all alternate sweaters, so just 2 sweaters per team now. None of that third-jersey garbage for the time being.

  10. Ok - here's what I've got so far. Its still WIP, so the next step is to add a strip to the bottom of the jersey, socks, and numbers. After that, a chest and shoulder logo and a few other tweaks.

Hey Drezz, great work! Just as an FYI, teams will once again return to wearing white at home and dark on the road, for the 2007-2008 NHL Season.
