  1. You CAN compile the unzipped files into an .iso but you don't really need to. Here's what I did:

    1) Unzip the files to a folder on a virtual drive as well as a folder in your C:\ drive. We'll use d:\nhl95 as an example for the virtual drive and c:\hockey for your hard drive..

    2) Open dosbox and type this: mount d d:\nhl95 -t cdrom (this mounts the virtual drive as your cd rom)

    3) then type mount c c:\hockey

    1) I unzipped the files to folders on my C:\ drive (C:\nhl95 and C:\hockey)

    2) I typed this into DOSBOX: mount c c:\nhl95 -t cdrom

    3) then I typed c:\hockey

It says please free up at least 2 Kbytes of disk space.

    H-E-L-P....pleeeease...

I was going to try and do it exactly the way you did...how can I make a folder on my virtual drive (CD DRIVE D:) to unzip the files to? When I click on CD Drive (D:) it just says please insert a disk into Drive D- I can't find an option to make a folder?

Sorry I am such a computer moron...

And that's all she wrote. I'm sure there's a more simple way but this works for me. Also, I uploaded the jersey editor, HOWEVER I couldn't get it to work so it might be a case of a file missing or this computer just won't run it for some reason. Unzip the file to your NHL 95 folder and just click it to run. Let me know if it works for anybody, and if not, I'll have to harass my brother (again) to send me the original zip file.

    JED.zip

Alright, I am going to try this...hopefully I can get it going...

  4. Hi mates,

I just played NHL95 2 days ago on my laptop.

Dosbox does the trick. I made it work by mounting my NHL95.iso(image of original cd) image to a virual drive on my XP, which I then mounted in dosbox as a cd drive. Then I mounted my d:\games folder as a drive in dosbox. After that I just installed the game in dosbox from cd(mounted), and played it. Sounds, graphics and gameplay are as smooth as playing on our dedicated NHL95 computer(486).

I had a bit problems of game and sounds slowing down, but then I increased the dosbox cycles to 10000 or so. Works well... except that my laptop screen won't strecth to 640x400 etc. resolution smoothly. Had to play on a windowed mode...

Didn't test joystick support yet... gotta do it when time.

    Cheers,

    Ouzo

    P.s.

If you guys want the best and original graphic addons for rink and jerseys we are hosting them with my friend here:

Disclaimer: By the way, we did those addons back in 95, when everything was beautiful ;)

    Ouzo,

Can you tell me what you type in on DOSBOX in the last part of the file extension to get the game to work. Like which file in the game's folder do I use for the last step in loading the game in DOSBOX? Thanks!!! B)

  5. Hopefully everyone here understands how much work Evan and Jacob in particular have been putting into updating the site and redesigning so that it can accommodate everyone who wants to play in the upcoming season... The increase in interest just in the last few months has been huge. It's a small amount of pain now, in exchange for a truly scalable set of leagues in the future.

The work and time Evan and Jacob in particular put in do not go unnoticed...it truly is a small amount of pain now for great leagues in the future...thanks boys!!! B)

  6. Thanks to wboy, I went and got it. it is very sharp and is what 95 should have been. and I , too have had sound probs. it does have the sound of an atari 2600 or something. but the game itself is sweet. lots of upgrades from 94.

by the way, wboy has laid it out on a silver platter for noobs like me. you can find it in the " NHL 95: a hackers dream" thread in editing the game.

thanks again mr. wboy. you are a god.

    Hullie,

I would really appreciate it if you could help me out with this project, I am a total noob when it comes to stuff like this and I REALLY want to try NHL95 PC version. I was able to download the ZIP file from the website and then used TUGZIP to unzip the file. I also downloaded DOSBOX, but that is kind of where I am stuck. Can you tell me exactly what to type in the prompt for DOSBOX to load the game?

I would also appreciate it if you could tell me a little about the game- I am completely intrigued by just two screenshots that I have seen. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! B)

  7. Chances are your zip file is valid and the issues exists with XP's uncompress feature (as I confirm I can get the same error using it).

use www.tugzip.com (yet another nice freeware app) on the same zip file and it should work.

WBOY, thank you so much for your help in this cause, I really appreciate it...I was able to unzip the file using the TUGZIP application...I also downloaded DOSBOX...however, I am not very computer astute when it came to following the DOSBOX directions on how to load the NHL95 PC game, it was a little too confusing for me to do. Anyways, I really appreciate your help, I guess I will wait until the www.nhl95.com site is back, maybe they will have an easier download for me.

I'm still really interested in this game, can anyone who has played it tell me if it is worth the effort to try and get it working? I've only seen two screenshots (but they look really good)...if the graphics are that sharp and it still has the 94 gameplay, with a season mode it sounds like a must-have...

Any advice would be appreciated, thanks boys!! B)

  8. launch the site from Internet Explorer. Make sure flashgets browser monitoring is on.... (right click the little flashget box).

When you click on telecharger, it should resolve to _ttp://88.191.39.66/Nhl95.zip (which you could now also paste into flashget to make it work without visiting the site again. - replace the '_' with 'h' obviously... have done so to not deliverately directly link to the site).

WBOY, thank you so much for the help- I was able to download the NHL95 PC ZIP file using FlashGet, but now when I am trying to extract the files I get the message:

The Compressed (zipped) Folder is invalid or corrupted. I tried to right-click on the ZIP file and select 'Extract All...' but it said there were no files to extract.

Any suggestions? I just want to play NHL95 for the PC B)

  9. ty so much wboy, youre awesome!

try to unzip and says its corrupt.

    any way around it?

I also downloaded the ZIP file but tried extracting it and received a corrupt file prompt. I tried the FlashGet download manager but I am not a computer whiz, so I couldn't get it to download the "Telecharger" file.

If someone could please help I would be much obliged- I am chomping at the bit to try out NHL95 for PC...thank you so much guys!!

  10. I would just like to know where I can download NHL 95 for PC...after seeing the screen shot of it, it looks totally sharp and awesome- not to mention the fact that it apparently has a full season mode and it plays like NHL94 for Genesis, not the NHL95 Genesis gameplay.

Any help on this would be much appreciated- which emulator do I need to download for it to work??? Thank you in advance!! B)
