  1. You would need to log 10,000 games for the data to start to be a relevant sample size given the apparent randomness that currently appears to be there, and would need to intentionally using all the players to skate w/ the puck. For me, you play with the same guys more times than not, and you check with the same guys more times, both in terms of carry the puck & trying to knock a guy down. So, it would make sense that a pattern of guys injured & guys doing the maiming would develop anyhow.
  2. Since i started playing weight bug fixed leagues/ROMS this past month, I've seen heavy guys getting hurt as much or more than the light weight guys, which has altered my perception of the injury equation. I had originally thought the light guys got hurt more, but now I believe its related to them having the puck more and moving towards the defenders. In SNES, & GENS weight-bug fixed leagues, heavy guys hold the puck more often, as they are less likely to get knocked down. And, you have to have the puck to get injured. In normal GENS, light weight players have the puck, so they are the ones getting hurt more, as they have more opportunities to have the "dice come up craps" on their hits received. That said, I have not seen an injury I remember from behind, and don't recall one from the side. It's usually head on or an angle close to head on that I get the injury, which is why I think you don't see many "into the board" knockouts. They look menacing, but they don't have that head on aspect required to get the KO. Could be me, but I notice more knockouts when hit with the stick fully raised.
  3. I've found it's the player's position on the ice that determines his chance of seeing stars, not the player's attributes. Guys like Roenick & Fleury in GENS, who are always taking hits while they shoot, get knocked out more because they are always standing in front of the net. Their light weight makes you as a coach take the player into more hazardous positions more frequently and they can successfully get deeper into their shots because of their ability to stand up from side checks, etc. Seems to me, more times than not, it's a defensemen lunging into you while your stick is at the top of a shot, but not the only position you get them from. I've found I get this injury with fat Iafrate as much as Hull as much as anyone I attack the net with. I've never seen someone get hurt WITHOUT the puck though.
  4. Yeah boys. The gauntlet has been thrown down. The defending '93 Champ gave out some early bruises in night one. Looking forward to spreading the love to everyone in the league Keep the Hitz coming.
  5. Please switch Bure & Odjick on line 2 for me. I can do it manually before the games if needed (if it's too late). Thanks
  6. Still need Insanity, Seano (if he's still a coach) & Coach Mac's lines left, although if Mac is doing the edit's, maybe he doesn't need to list his lines here, but would be nice to see them posted
  7. Pick any number for Wilson not taken. Leave Probert at #24 then. Thanks a million for helping us out there bud.

  9. Guys, I'm pretty sure if you don't set your checking line defensemen to LINE 2 defensemen, and if one of your defensemen gets a penalty, with these short rosters, the game puts in your LW as a defensemen. Reason being is it goes to checking line 1 for his replacement, sees he's in the box, and then goes to checking line forward for some reason. I've seen Gretzky at defense in GDL (big advantage for Carse on a penalty!), and last night, in a league w/ Blitz, I noticed Brett Hull playing defense for me (disadvantage me!!!). I've seen this in a few short roster leagues. Not sure if that happens in '93 or not. I know that if you change your lines to have Checking Line defensemen as Line 2 defensemen doubled up it doesn't happen.
  10. I'm fine w/ the Joseph backup goalie option. I'll take Russ Courtnall as my last forward.
  11. That's one of the things I've noticed while playing the SNES version is goalie interference penalty is almost automatically called every time, even when someone under computer control w/ out the puck is pushed into the goalie. That doesn't even take into account grabbing the goalie, ramming the guy as he tries to avoid you, and getting the penalty reward as well as the puck back! GENS you don't even get the penalty but maybe 40% of the time YOU crash into the net yourself. I actually hate the penalties on because more times than not, it's random & can really effect the outcome, yet I love having the extra use of line changes, like power play or penalty kill. So, the break in strategy during a game is nice, but they ga way the game calls penalties turns me off to it. I drafted based on the idea of them being off, but if everyone voted for them on, and HALI was swayed, I wouldn't cry. That said, I'm looking forward to playing some games soon, whichever way!
  12. Not my boy Bobby Bassen!!!
  13. No. I sold myself on my picks, just in all the board confusion, scrolling through to see names, etc. it's probably not best to name dudes like that. I know I didn't even consider him as I thought he was off the board. IF I was going Domi, I would have went Domi & some other goon, punted the W's for the fights

  15. see, I thought Tie Domi was picked cause you put your "woot" comment in earlier w/ dibs on him. I'm ok w/ my picks. Just future ref, let's no have names being mentioned unless they are being drafted.
  16. Alexander Mogilny & Glen Wesley
  17. I've got both Muller or Tikkanen that I could move for the right defenseman. Looked around, didn't see many "fits", cause of cap & contract years, but if you wanna talk shop, my GM door is open.
  18. I'm personally not USED to line changes on, but I'm OK w/ them, as it adds a wrinkle. I'd play w/ or w/out them. If put to a vote, I'd go w/out. Backup goalie, not interested, but not strong enough opposition to care if it means something to everyone else. I'd prefer this as a no. Drafting double lines & all that takes a little longer. I'm definitely in for MORE games on a schedule. I'd be happier w/ 40 plus. 34 would almost be the minimum. I'm ok w/ the 5-5-5 format. When you get into a '93 series, the "replay" button starts to come up over & over for those head to head games. By game 5, it's been decided. Begley quit on me last year cause he couldn't take it. While I think he's a nancy for quitting, I do understand the mental part of replaying the same games over & over. '93 doesn't have AS MUCH variance in its game play, so 5 game series is enough for me. That said, I'm ok w/ 7 game series if everyone else prefers that. 5 minute periods is the right time. Games move slower w/ line changes on. Might consider 6 minutes if you leave line changes on, but I don't like 4 minutes at all. I'd play under ANY rules to be honest though, so make what you want, set the rules up and let's roll.
