this has been brought up about fifteen times. if someone wants to start a similar league with current rosters, thats fine. but part of what makes this league so cool is the old school teams and players. besides, how can you have a nhl league without the whalers? thats blasphemy.

Two points. 1. I think its obviously too late for trading this season, but these discussions are useful regarding future seasons. 2. What about having two roms after the trading period: pre-midseason-trade and post-midseason-trade. The first rom is used for the first half of the season, and even AFTER the trading period, it would be used to play any back games from the first half of the season. This way, everyone would still be required to play an equal number of games with their pre-trade and post-trade teams. Also, we wouldn't have to wait for everyone to catch up prior to the trading period. It's still a little time-travely, but a better option than having a huge break in the middle of the season. D, is it possible to organize the database to handle this? the roms would be named differently so you could have the system recognize whether the rom was pre-trade or post-trade, and it could allocate the stats accordingly.

i got two of the three, and i'm three games under .500, go figure. i must suck at this game. then again this is only my second season in the only nhl league ive been in, i figure making the playoffs would be a success and it looks like i have a good chance of that. plus you traded me lafontaine for kirk muller, and i then flipped lafontaine for borque. therefore you could have had borque yourself. The Whalers won 4-3 tonight in San Jose. They were up 3-0 early in the game when the rarest of plays happened: Belfour controlled the puck deep in the corner, then went to pass it up the ice for a fast break. The whalers forwards whiffed on it, and so did the San Jose defenders. The puck is headed right for San Jose goalie Mike Richter, as slow as can be, when WHOOPS!- it slides through the 5-hole for a goal. The whaler's fourth goal ended up being a crucial one as san jose scored three in the final period to tighten things up. The pop up screen credited Belfour, as did the scoring summary, but on the stats database it didnt give the goal to belfour. Is there any way you could fix this D? that would be awesome.

i like playing as much as anyone else, but i'd rather have the season last more than ten days. patience is a virtue. last season went great. if it ain't broke don't fix it. ps. dmitry's ass deserves to be kissed, i can't imagine theres a better league out there and we're only in season 2.

breath in... breath out... jeeze guys, the draft just started today, whats the difference if the season starts next week or in two weeks. its just more time for the antsy owners to log practice games and master their teams. as for the release of roms, i think the way it was done last season was perfect. Releasing them all at once means that the speedy owners with nothing better to do will finish all the games in a week or two, and then just sit around bitching about everyone who is playing the games at a reasonable pace. Plus it means that everyone will be hounded on AIM constantly for a solid week straight after the roms are released. keep it the way it is, last season was pretty damn silky smooth if you ask me. guys who weren't online much would just let a few games build up, then knock them all out in a single night, without anyone getting that far ahead in the standings. i guess i must really like this league because every time someone suggests a change (like this, or the offsides rule, or switching to a modern rom) i instinctively shoot it down. that must mean d-money is doing a good job running the league. three cheers dmitry, keep up the good work.
