  1. Sun, with all the crap you've pulled i'm really starting to get tired of this. With some of the things you've said to Shifty especially. Cut it out.

Alright, all the games up until the trade deadline are out. The deadline for these games is tentatively set at May 5th. We'll see how things go.

  2. I understand if you have trouble finding your opponents, but the season has been going for roughly 5 days, and to be avereging less than one game league-wide is not great.

The deadline is May 5th (basically a week from now). It looks like it might get pushed back, but i'd appreciate it if it didn't get pushed back a lot.

  3. Season kicks off starting now. Check the schedule at http://fvhl.net/schedule.asp?orderby=ID. If you uploaded any games in the pre-season, you already know what to do. If you don't, feel free to ask me, or gr8, or anybody who knows what they're doing.

    Now, onto some important stuff.

IF there is any injuries in a game, it's the responsibility of both coaches to post in the pinned topic in this forum ("Injured Players"). One coach has to post the game # (it's beside it in the schedule), and all the injuries+what players were injured. There is an example in the topic if you're confused. The other coach must simply quote and confirm the injuries. Do not forget about this, i'll be pming both coaches if an injury happens and there is no post on it.

Also pertaining to injuries, the injuries will only start to take effect at midnight every night, same time as when the schedule is updated. Again, the injury ends after x number of games, and it will be kept track off in the topic, but also keep track of it yourself. There is a penalty for playing a player who is supposed to be injured.

    Deadlines:

    April 21st - Season Starts

May 5th - Last block of games released before trade deadline

May 12th - Trade deadline break begins. Any games not played up until this date result in DNPs.

May 19th - Trade deadline break ends. Season resumes.

May 24th - Last block of regular season games released.

June 2nd - Regular season ends. Any games not played up until this date result in DNPs.

    June 6th - Playoffs begin.

June 16th - 1st round deadline. All series' must be played.

June 23rd - 2nd round deadline. All series' must be played.

June 30th - Final round deadline. All series' must be played.

So if all goes well, the first FVHL season will be wrapped up before July. These dates are, of course, tentative. They can be moved forward or backward depending on how many games are being played. How quick the season goes is up to the coaches.

I expect there to be some confusion. This is expected. Don't worry about it, ask me and i'll explain if anything confuses you if i'm there, if not, just play. I'm not going to fly off the wire and kill anybody if they made a mistake based on a misunderstanding.

Happy playing everybody, the games are up.

  4. First off, the ROM. Many thanks to Donch for putting it together, it looks great and helps out a ton. The rosters should be all set with your lines (if you posted any) added in. Why is Sundin the cover player, you ask? Simple.

    1)I'm a fanatical Leafs fan.

2)Considering this is called the "franchise" league, I figured a player who basically IS the franchise would make sense.

Before the regular season kicks off tonight, theres a few things I want to address.

Firstly, orginally, a few of you might already know of this, I wanted to do a double header with 4 coaches playing in 2 games for the opening night, along with commentary and what not. However, rather than keep you guys waiting any longer, we'll just save all that fancy stuff for the all-star game.

Which brings me to the all-star game. It will be played during the trade deadline break, and here's the format:

All-Star game - Simple 5 minute period game, with all the regular rules. Top coach from each conference.

Shootout Competition - 4 coaches overall, 2 per conference. There's a quick semi-finals round, then the finals. Top 2 coaches from one conference play the top 2 coaches from the other conference in a quick shootout. Winner advances to finals. It is possible that the finals are 2 coaches from each conference.

    2on2 Showdown - Probably the highlight, a 2on2 game, 10 minute periods.

All of these will be recorded if all goes well, and this entire process should take a week, possibly a bit more depending on how many trades are made.

Of course, there will be an overall winner between the two conferences. Points are awarded as so:

    All-Star game winner - 20 points

    Shootout Semi-Finals winner - 5 points

Shootout Finals winner - 10 points

    2on2 1st period winner - 5 points

    2on2 2nd period winner - 5 points

    2on2 3rd period winner - 5 points

    2on2 Game winner - 20 points

So there is a possible 75 points. Should be great fun, and of course if the top coaches selected have difficulties having the time to play any of these, rather than hold the league up there will be another coach chosen.

Download the ROM, check it out, and get ready for the season kicking off tonight. Deadline info and more will be posted tonight when the season kicks off as well. DB will be wiped, so don't worry about any stats you see now.

  5. You may be wondering what happened to all the games you logged during the pre-season; I still have them, but the new schedule up IS the regular season schedule. Again, it will be released in blocks of 8, every day. I'm in the process of doing the transition from pre to regular season, so just relax. Also, get your lines posted in the topic so you don't have to edit lines every game.

Hopefully, regular season starts no later than Monday.

  6. I'm still in, and semi-open to games. I'm in the process of trying to get my own league off the ground and running and between work and school my free time drops dramatically. I've said this before, as soon as a competent replacement is found, i'm prefectly fine for getting replaced. I've barely played ANY games, which is my fault, obviously, but keep hitting me up. Hopefully you use zbattle, as hamachi has not been cooperating.

  7. In this topic you can set your lines for the final rom for the season. What you need to do is post:

    Starting Line

    LW -

    C -

    RW -

    LD -

    RD -

    G -

    Reservers(For injuries)

    LW -

    C -

    RW -

    LD -

    RD -

    G -

Also, if you have any two players on your team with the same jersey number, please put a (change to #x) beside that players name, otherwise it will just be bumped up a number.

  8. All right, pre-season is open for now. All you have to do to upload a game is go to the website, click upload a game. Your username and password are the same thing: YOUR name. Specifically the name you see on the "Coach Standings" page. Ex) username - chrisduda/password - chrisduda. Of course this will be changed in the future, but for now you're free to start playing and log some preseason games.

EDIT: My my, I'm so used to everybody knowing what to do I haven't even considered the really new guys who don't even know about save states. Here's the deal, you're going to need:

    http://65.36.133.56/nhl94_draft/gensnetplay.zip

Just put that in the GENS folder and always use that emulator for online games.

Now, go online and play a game as usual (I hope you all know how to do that :D)

When the "3 stars of the games" shows up after the game is finished, this is when you either go File<Quicksave, or just hit F5. This will create a save state, depending on which state you selected (check by clicking 'change state' under 'file' and see which one is checked), so it will be something like FVHL.gs* with the * being the state number (0-9). This is the file you will upload.

Go to upload a game on the site, log in with your username and password, check the game off in the list (Make sure you pick the right game, if you were home agaisnt Pittsburgh, don't pick the game will Pittsburgh was home; this will not work. Then click 'browse' navigate to the save state, pick it, and upload. The site will tell you if it was uploaded successfully, and then voila.

It's standard procedure for the home team to save the state and log the game, unless discussed beforehand. Always make a save state, even as away, just in case though.

If you have any questions, i'll be lurking around AIM, feel free to ask me, or gr8, or Shifty, or any of the vets that are used to this kind of thing.

  9. Let me state that this schedule is not finalized, it was just a test to make sure everything was working properly. The final schedule will be 352 games still, and 8 games will be released a day, with ALL teams playing one game a day. This makes the schedule fair to everyone, and also makes the stats and standings much more accurate.
