  1. Hi All, I am looking to join the GENS 20 game league. Would someone be able to do a test game tonight? I have not played in a league in a long time. Thanks
  2. they need something more along the lines of this jersey
  3. can someone move this to that more appropriate forum?
  4. sorry man, if you want to put in the work to make it the 30 team rom then i'd gladly update it. You can be part of the solution instead of making a comment like "this rom sucks".
  5. I was looking at the EA NHL 14 ratings and saw flaws of course. The good thing is we have control over our updates to the ROMs. What seems like a good idea would be to have actual fans/critics of each of the local teams to give feedback (which people can take or leave) on where players should be rated. For example, I looked and saw Seabrook had an 89 rating in NHL 14. Now, this seems to be someone remembering his playoff winners and not thinking about his total performance last season. If we had local fans with oversight in the ratings I think we would have a more accurate system and lose the highlight/pure stats picture that seems to take place when applying ratings to a player. If this is something that interests people I would be willing to throw out a rough draft of the blackhawks which I used the nhl 13 playoffs rom as a base.
  6. Maitrefun, sorry i was not going through and getting the 30 teams set up. Nashville and Columbus just didn't make the cut I have a few flaws that need to be addressed. One of the glaring things is that when i did the proper updates to match that they changed the home/road whites it messed with the palettes for the ice logos. Some look cool this way, other do not. If you want you could change the jerseys back but i like having the right colors. At some point the logos for the other teams would be updated, but I suck at image editing and do not want to put the work in that area. On the other hand, i will continue to update the rosters. I noticed that these corrections need to be made: 1) Toronto did not get their jerseys flipped. 2) Abdelkadder should be the RW on line 1 for detroit. Did not mean to double up the second line center. I am waiting until we get closer to when rosters are close to being finalized because last minute free agents and jersey numbers I want to be accurate.
  7. I was reading a different thread where wboy shows how to get the colors loaded to help find the palette. I was able to follow the initial part where you use the debug option to display the current colors loaded, which then you can find the RGB and convert to Hex. The next part is where I would appreciate if someone could help breakdown further. I am working in NHL 95 so not everything is the same, and this knowledge will help others help themselves if also working in different games. How do you ensure that the location you find the color match is the right location in the bin? How do you know what the start and size of the palette is to load? Thanks
  8. I used to play and post on here a few years ago, but family and other things took me away (Call of Duty). I always preferred NHL 95 to 94 due to the season and the speed. I have been working on an update to the 2003 edit. Here is a preliminary update for the rosters and attributes. I still need to update some of the logos and we need to wait until we get closer to the regular season for rosters to be up to date and jersey numbers (i hate playing with known wrong numbered jerseys). If anyone would be interested in updating the graphics that would be great. Most of the work is already done if you use NHL 94 playoff 2013 update as a reference. If you notice any glaring issues with player ratings or obviously on the wrong team let me know. Also, i have left some players who were unsigned on their old team or for team like the Hawks who have few forwards signed old players exist on their roster. Thanks, Wally nhl95v2013.bin
  9. Chicago - many games since this is where I live. Look forward to going to games agains as my friend and I have lifted our 9 year ban of paying for attendance after the passing of Dollar Bill Wirtz. San Jose - one game vs. the Blackhawks around 2003. Nice arena for a game, feel closer to the game, kind of like the Rose Garden in Portland for the Trailblazers.
  10. Yes, no matter what i do when i redefine, regular gens only works with the analog stick and not the dpad on this controller. Its ok, i tried the download for the gens+netplaysave and with winzip it is able to extract the file and i am in business. Thanks for the quick response.
  11. I dont understand this, but with a new controller I have (Logitech Chillstream) whenever playing in gens or this gens-netplaysave I cannot move in the northwest direction. In Gens+ I do not have this problem. Any ideas why this happens?
  12. Frantsek Musil; solid stay at home defender and by that I mean he has no speed so he would never possibly be used offensively and thus not be out of position.
  13. nevermind, found this. http://media.g4tv.com/downloads/aots/Genesis.pdf
  14. I have never done anything like this before. Can someone walk me through how to get the usb adapter from the retrousb site installed properly? The pinout diagram on the site does not seem to help much since it is from the standpoint of the female end of the originalcord which needs to be removed if I understand this correctly.
  15. If anyone is looking to play i am in the NHL 94 server at 9:29 CST.
  16. Im looking to get back in so I would play, another for genesis.
  17. Im looking to get back into the mix. Send me a message if there is enough interest.
  18. Its been a while since I posted here, but this is a great topic. There are so many from my circle of friends, but here I go. Captains Platter - 3 assists in one game. Started first by, the Captain, Mark Messier hence the name. Sh#t Goal - Any goal that was not due to any sort of skil, usualy from scrums around the net where it bounces off people a few times. Usually accompanied by a diving goalie. Neck Brace - Grant Fuhr was known as this. For his pic in the game he had his neck protector on, but it appeared to go high so he became this name. Quick Wrister - When you need a late goal and there is not time enough to get down the ice and shoot, just line up in the middle of the ice and pass forward. Not a name, but the act of putting 'draw' on a player from a check was fun. It was always a competition to see how far you could bounce the guy back towards the middle after a big board check. Usually you had to catch the front of the opponent to do this. Zamboni with the spatula attachment - This was called for when you just buried a player into the boards or mid-ice. The idea was that player was not getting up on his own and would need the help of the zamboni to scrape him off the ice. Tanning bed - This was the name of the goal where you skated directly accross the crease and held a slap shot until the goalie stacked his pads. Easy goal against the computer. (The picture of this is actually in the NHL 94 banner) The Wiggle - the method of scoring that most experienced players can do on the breakaway by driving to the far post and getting the goalie to stray and coming back near post. Also, I used to have a translation sheet of foreign to english names. Most of them translated to Jerry like Jaroslav or Jiri, but the best was Ulf as in Dahlen/Samuellson became Art. Just silly, but fun.
  19. I'm 30 from Chicago, IL area.
  20. I am in the NHL94 online league and I have gotten used to these rules. My buddies and I always played full rules and line changes too, but not many want to use those rules.
  21. If you contact people on AIM, then you can coordinate which server to go to. My AIM contact is wwojo75 if you are looking for a game.
  22. HA. Shhh. I have my scouts out there already checking out everyone's style. Anyways, my favorite individual defensive play is the poke check where it is so clean that the player is off to the races the other way. After that, I would also favor the hook of a distant player to "reel 'em in". NHL 94 allows quite a bit of hooking before a call is made. Wally
  23. There has been much discussion on favorite player and obscure player, but how about what really wins games against other good players, solid defensive play. This could be a scheme that you believe works the best or individual defensive/goaltender play that leads to winning hockey. I am interested to see everyone's opinion on this topic. Thanks, Wally
  24. I believe it is the gameplay. I have played both, but I guess I am biased due to starting out on the genesis side. The graphics are better, but the play seems, in my opinion, superior on the genesis console. Wally
