  1. I have a few loose carts for non 94 titles, but i most own something like 30 total 94 carts between snes and genesis.
  2. The King of Tecmo Retro Extrveganza event has been posted on Facebook and Tecmo Bowl Dot Org. To all you NHL94 tournament participants, it's only $10 to play in this tournament, which we all hope you will. There will be plenty of time for 2v2 and open retro, plus warm up games in the hours leading up to this. https://www.facebook.com/events/336086490230059/ http://tecmobowl.org/forums/topic/70131-green-bay-wi-02232018-king-of-tecmo/ Any chatter on both fronts on tborg and facebook in the event are appreciated.
  3. I touched base with CharlieBravo, the creator of Lord Manly's Cup. He says the event trophies for both SNES and Genesis should be in production next week, and should take 3-4 days to complete. Again, the winner holds up Lord Manly's Cup the original for posing, then takes home one of the smaller versions. To all your flyers out there, the TSA will absolutely destroy the trophy to make sure it isn't harmful, so we recommend having it shipped. We can handle that, we just ask that you pay us back for said shipping cost. Thanks
  4. @CoachMac I just sent a message to those I had the forum contact for. The venue will be open as we are setting up, and everything will be available for you for practice games. We want to bring you traveling guys into the venue and get your games in there, as we have all the CRT's one would need in the world. Also, I'll be making an official announcement regarding a special tournament taking place that Friday evening. That announcement will be made on Sunday. It's going to be an amazing retro weekend. What you guys do Sunday is your own accord. I have to go back to being a family man, and get all my crap packed and transported somehow that day.
  5. Thanks for hanging out with us last night, and we are looking forward to seeing you in February!
  6. I have made a little stream highlight showing off the game a little. I'm not any good at this version, but some of the same tricks work. It has functionality from nhl94 like one timers, and dekes and slappers can score easy enough. The crease trick doesn't seem to work that well as the goalies are faster. They do have the Dallas North Stars instead of the Dallas Stars, so that should date the intended season of the game for you. https://www.twitch.tv/videos/219969538
  7. We will miss you, but it's understandable. This is the start of something special, as we've already doubled our attendance from last year in RSVPs. Make sure to be a part of our event next year.
  8. Signups and payments continue to roll in. We are on pace for 32 easily, but we aren't stopping there! Yesterday I had the opportunity to run some NHL94 stations at the Level Up retro gaming expo in Green Bay. We held a small tournament for Genesis. We had hoped to do a SNES and Genesis tournament, but could not lock down enough players to stay for both. Instead the 1st and 2nd place winners won free entry! Here's the event footage. https://www.twitch.tv/videos/218188273?t=6862s Here's a picture of the 1st and 2nd place finishers, Moe Man and James G
  9. @tebiah, not sure if you saw what we have going on in Green Bay, as I know @smozoma took a moment to mention it. It's going to be absolutely insane, and if possible, you should make arrangements to come next month. Arda Ocal will be there, we have a live organist, great prizes including sealed hockey trading card packs from the 90s, and the venue is a virtual reality arcade. We also do a bunch of random retro and 2v2 the night before for all the traveling players looking for something to do. There is also the shrine that is Lambeau Field, which accepts tours year around. You can sign up at tinyurl.com/fleury2018. We also have a thread on the tournament in the King of 94 section, and added the event to Evensi. https://www.evensi.us/king-94-wi-presents-fleury-goals-nhl94-tournament-edge-vr-arcade/229768138 Lastly, check out our promo video. It should give you an idea just how serious we are taking all of this. We sincerely hope you will make the journey!
  10. I'm a big fan of the PC DOS version of 94, named just NHL Hockey. It had its quirks, but the presentation was phenomenal if you had a sound blaster(gotta hear Ron Bar and all the sound effects), the game play decent for its time, and the ability to do full seasons was very appealing. I never became proficient at it, but it was enough to keep me interested in a sport I couldn't watch on TV till many years later.
  11. Print and hang up by your water cooler at work, or at the announcement board at your favorite watering hole!
  12. OK Guys, as of right now we have 16 paid in out of the eligible 24(rest are staff or sponsors), with a total verbalized commitment of 32 players, which is our advertised max. If we get those last 8 paid in, we will go ahead and expand to 40 players, but for now, first come, first served. Get your payments in, or risk losing your slot.
  13. I'll be bringing my business cards to the gaming expo on Saturday, trying to get folks interested in online, and our local tournament. I think what brings people back to a community like this is engagement. Whether that engagement be from a tandem ROM project, a local tournament, an online league, online exis, or educational article write ups, that engagement is what will keep people glued to the community. I don't have access to metrics, or new forum signups, but I feel that at the very least, a welcome email to said members, with a follow up message would be appropriate. We should be directing people into Discord for conversations, and for the love of God, no gay porn pictures. Yes I'm talking to you @Quetzalcoatlus
  14. That shocks me. I thought the purpose of this site was funnel people into tournaments and leagues, while providing resources to help people get better at the game. I can't think of a gaming community I've been a part of where the primary purpose of their site was to attract people to the associated activity.
  15. Being aware when joins, and then having a plan to engage them is key. I truly think we need to have some sort of alert system to let folks new someone has joined the channel, most likely via a bot. We would then need folks to reach out and be friendly to the newcomer, and offering assistance in getting setup online. Lastly, don't truck them 10-0 in your first online game if they are trash.
  16. Happy to announce that we will be hosting a mini tournament for the purposes of promoting NHL94 online, as well as our February 24th tournament. The venue is the Level Up expo in Green Bay on January 13th. We will award a free entry in single elimination bracket to the highest place finisher to any newcomer, one for snes, and one for genesis. We will stream approximately 10:30AM CST at twitch.tv/trojan1979 https://www.facebook.com/events/192586431295562/?notif_t=plan_user_associated&notif_id=1515187738210039
