Last year, I had the Red Wings defeating the Penguins in the finals. Sometimes I hate being right! But I wouldn't mind being right this season, as I now have Pittsburgh defeating Vancouver in the finals. In fact, I say whoever wins the Pitt/Philly series will win the whole thing against Vancouver. It's a shame the Pens and Flyers had to play each other in the first round this year.

I shared some of my picks with Jesus when we discussed playoffs on AIM days ago; however, I thought I'd post here and make the rest of my picks available to everybody as well. Here are my first-round picks and my finals.

WESTERN CONFERENCE

Anaheim vs. San Jose: Anaheim in 6

Columbus vs. Detroit: Detroit in 4

St. Louis vs. Vancouver: Vancouver in 5

Chicago vs. Calgary: Chicago in 7

EASTERN CONFERENCE:

Montreal vs. Boston: Boston in 6

New York vs. Washington: Washington in 6

Carolina vs. New Jersey: New Jersey in 4

Philadelphia vs. Pittsburgh: Pittsburgh in 5

FINALS

Pittsburgh vs. Vancouver: Pittsburgh in 6

The first 2 picks from TruePensFan were spot on. The others, he was a little close.

The Blackhawks disposed of the Flames in 6 games and Caps vs Rangers & Devils vs Hurracanes are both on game 7.

The Canucks swept the Blues and the Penguins got the Flyers in 6.

Aw, no need to be cynical now. The stadium was really red in there, you know. Unless you mean here in the boards?

And yep, the Canes really rung the bell on the Devils. A bittersweet season for Martin Brodeur, to be sure.

My picks for this round are:

Detroit wins in 5 games vs the Ducks.

Capitals win in 6 vs the Penguins. They have what it takes to beat them and they'll probably ride on that comeback they did on the Rangers.

Blackhawks get to win in 6 vs the Canucks. They're as physical as they have been since Roenick, Smith and Chelios were on the same team more than a decade ago and can keep up with Vancouver.

Upset special!

Hurracanes beat the Bruins in 6. C'mon, they went toe to toe with a talented Devils team and won. They can do the same with the Bruins.

Penguins and Capitals in the second round... Gary Bettman's nipple tassels just put someones eye out.

A part of me is disappointed that Chara won't get to use Avery as a toothbrush for 3 games.
