NOSE question

Recommended Posts

The two side programs needed to run NOSE:

- Visual Basic 6.0 Service Pack 5 Run-time Redistribution Pack

- Windows Common Controls ActiveX Control

Are these potentially harmful to a computer?

Will they give adware or spyware or anything like that?

Will they change Windows settings?

Or are they completely harmless?

Visual Basic is a object oriented programming (OOP) language known for it's simplicity and easily traverseable interfaces - NOSE is written in Visual Basic; (VB) hence the VB pack is required to run NOSE.

Active X is primarily an appendage for other languages used to perform functions not sure exactly how it's tied into NOSE..

Anyway they are relatively harmless .

They were made by Microsoft. They are safe.

The reason you need to install those is because there is no actual installer for NOSE. If there were an installer, it would install that stuff for you.
