tebiah
When a penalty shot is assessed, if you shoot the puck on net before the game goes in to the penalty shot mode, the puck goes inside the goal and doesn't stop at that invisible wall. The goal stands and there is no penalty shot. I'm not sure if there has to be another penalty coming or something.

jrodimus
You can negate a cough up pass by your goalie if you hold down the goalie control button when you're way out of the net. The dumb ref will blow the whistle and save your bacon.

politelyerased
But then, after playing with real people the game becomes pretty easy. For a real challenge, try finishing it with Anaheim or Ottawa. The Islanders could count since Healy or Fitzpatrick aren't exactly world class goalies. another fun thing to try doing is winning the cup with Chicago, no line changes, and a pulled goalie. I lost in the finals lol Edited November 16, 2009 by politelyerased

I lost in the finals lol I see your card and meet it with finishing the game with one of the bad teams with a pulled goalie. Good luck! Anyone noticed that some of the goalies also use the stick more than others? Most animations consist of the goalies sticking out their feet at various positions, using the glove and the standing stick/glove blocks, but a few of them actually use the side stick saves. Snyder
I made a flip pass with Moog once and it went all the way down the ice off the other teams goalie and in another time i was on the pk so i just dumped it into the zone, it came off the boards and the goalie dove to get it but it went off him and in. in a shootout i dove with the goalie but right before the player collided with me, he flipped it up over me and it went in to win the shootout
Grayto
Keyboard has numerous advantages over gamepad. The ablilty to use two fingers to control 2 different directions at the same time, makes it easier to deke and pass goals are also easier. I wish i could use keyboard, but im too confused without gamepad. Also, using the keyboard allows you to have 2 or more fingers on different buttons at the same time. Don't know how much it matters, but its nice to have pass and shoot covered at the same time for one timers, and check and 'X' covered for defense/goalie. Or sideways if they go for the one-timer. It goes flying out of the rink when you do. I'm fairly certain open nets cause players to shoot high at a higher probability. Especially open nets with a highlighted goalie. Comeback_King
why is it when you are racing against the computer for icing no matter if you have a stride or two on him, somehow the computer always gets to it first!? Sometimes I have to go to instant replay because I can't believe my eyes, my guy got there first, the computer is right behind me but he touched it before me. It's a cheat or a glitch. Wittgenstein
I heard that a cracked-out Ron Barr killed three hookers (escorts, not players who hook) in an incident in Reno. This was about three weeks before his well known check in to rehab, which was covered by all of the gossip magazines. I know a guy who knows Ron Barr's lawyer and he told me that Barr had to pay off a lot of judges and cops to keep the murder from surfacing. Barr didn't want his clean image to be tarnished, which would cost him millions in endorsments. Barr also said he didn't want to let down all of the kids who look up to him as an idol, so he pulled every string he could to have people look past the evidence that tied him to the murders. CamKneely
Yeah, that was Ron Sutter who killed three hookers. I think it was Grant Ledyard, Scott Stevens and Kjell Samuelsson.
trudatman
if you call a timeout with Pittsburgh, it gives Kevin Stevens a chance to hit the crack pipe and he comes back faster and more agile.
kingraph
When you catch the other team in a line change and want to get a quick rush, your players passing/stick handling/off awareness ratings all go to ZERO. It seems like EVERY time I have a chance to capitalize on a line change, a pass bounces off the skate, misses completely, players offside, etc. You can't convince me otherwise.
