shaftman
I don't think there's any question refs get even with players they don't like...it happens at all levels of hockey....but that ref was pretty stupid to tell burrows he was gonna get even with him. If Auger doesn't say anything to Burrows and still makes the horseshit calls that he made....no one is any wiser. I've been following this closely... Auger said he was going to get back at burrows...and he did... Burrows got fined...which is bullshit if you ask me...He didn't do anything wrong. And Auger is getting away with it. f**k the nhl! I saw the Devils-Rangers game today on Versus and I saw the problem between Burrows/Auger, and the box guys on Versus said that Burrows made a big mistake in opening his mouth and should have tried to be more professional. They showed the replays on the "penalties" he commited on the Canucks-Predators game that happened not too long ago and I saw that he had no intent when they happened. Things like that happen in any league, though fortunately they're not bought over like with the UFC or boxing. And yes, I know about the NBA referee gambler ballyhoo. What a crapload of damn. Louie14
Time to add another two incidents to this post. This first f**k-up is particularily bad because it benefits Steve Ott. The NHL is really out to get Detroit this season. Moving on, for those of you new to hockey (i.e. NHL refs, apparently) you aren't allowed to throw your stick to stop a goal from being scored...until now!! As bad as this is, I think we are going to need a special IIHF post for the Olympics...
The Russian Rocket
Oh god, i remember the championship in Quebec. They allowed a goal that was clearly coming from the side of the net, even after review.
