How do you embed a video in a post?

Can someone provide a step by step process for me? I know that html has to be 'ON' form the post options....but I'm not sure what else do.

Xstioph sent me the code from one of his vids....I replaced his url with the url I wanted to use...and it still did not work (just got a while blank screen).
