clockwise Posted July 19, 2010 Report Posted July 19, 2010 Here's the skinny: I'm embarking on my second major rom project since Wboy taught me haxorz-fu, which resulted in my NHL91 edit.. Started over a month ago and this is going to be piecemeal as it's the only way to get this finished with my lack of free time. The rosters, lines, and ratings will be lifted from the 360 version of NHL11. See the checklist for features and progress, it will be updated periodically but not every time something is knocked off.. Also tried to contact Wboy via didgeridoo for his blessing but no dice. nationals1 Posted July 19, 2010 Report Posted July 19, 2010 Looks awsome clockwise! Just one thing to be carefull about, the ratings in NHL 11 are exact for players and its in a range for 94 so it gets kinda tough Quote
RedWingDevil Posted July 19, 2010 Report Posted July 19, 2010 This ia boound to be good. Are you gonna include it in you NHL 91 site as a milestone? Quote
kirkmullerisgod Posted July 19, 2010 Report Posted July 19, 2010 this looks amazing! I cant wait to play it! Quote
trudatman Posted July 19, 2010 Report Posted July 19, 2010 the part called "net tiles" in your post features an image. if that is a capture of what you are using, you may want to check the distance between poles and the vertical lines of the goalie rectangle. right side seems further away. Quote
clockwise Posted July 20, 2010 Author Report Posted July 20, 2010 Just one thing to be carefull about, the ratings in NHL 11 are exact for players and its in a range for 94 so it gets kinda tough This was the original scheme for player ratings. Might be how things are done in the future but for now I'm going to round down for ratings and will have to make some judgment calls. This ia boound to be good. Are you gonna include it in you NHL 91 site as a milestone? Probably not. the part called "net tiles" in your post features an image. if that is a capture of what you are using, you may want to check the distance between poles and the vertical lines of the goalie rectangle. right side seems further away. This is because the layer was off center. I've never checked it before until now. Quote
smozoma Posted August 12, 2010 Report Posted August 12, 2010 extra feature in this ROM that hasn't been mentioned yet! instead of the usual 0-6 rating scale (25-29, 29-38, 38-47, 47-62, 63-80, 81-98, 99), the ROM will use a 0-15 rating scale, for more accurate ratings (~25, ~28, ~32, ~35, ~39, ~42, ~46, ~49, ~56, ~63, ~70, ~77, ~84, ~91, ~98, ~99+) also, the weights will be adjusted a bit so the players aren't quite so sluggish in the game Quote
angryjay93 Posted August 12, 2010 Report Posted August 12, 2010 how do the smaller rating ranges affect hot/cold streaks if at all? Quote

RedWingDevil Posted August 13, 2010 Report Posted August 13, 2010 Waiting for this is damn long already! Who's Jim Hughson? Quote
Louie14 Posted August 13, 2010 Report Posted August 13, 2010 Waiting for this is damn long already! Who's Jim Hughson? He used to do play-by-play for the Toronto Blue Jays. He now spends his time being not-Bob Cole. Quote
smozoma Posted August 13, 2010 Report Posted August 13, 2010 how do the smaller rating ranges affect hot/cold streaks if at all? good question -- the hot/cold bonus will have the same magnitude as before. With the 0 to 6 scale, a player rated a 4 was always better or (extremely rarely) equal to a player rated 3, no matter their bonuses. However, with the 0-15 scale, since the ratings are closer together, but the bonuses are the same size as before, a player rated say 10 out of 15 in speed could, if cold, actually be slower than a guy with an 8 out of 15 who is hot. However, this ROM will also have the bonus hack that makes each attribute have a different bonus. So, with all the different bonuses, overall ratings will vary little on the average, so the better player usually is still better overall (unless he is cold in a lot of attributes, which is unlikely but can of course happen) Who's Jim Hughson? The CBC Hockey Night in Canada play-by-play announcer. He also does the current EA NHL games. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0K_onEkPCxo Quote

RedWingDevil Posted September 17, 2010 Report Posted September 17, 2010 And some new league that goes along with it, hopefully. Perhaps with 10-minute periods? Quote
beavers33 Posted September 17, 2010 Report Posted September 17, 2010 10 min periods? you must be kidding. that league would die soooo fast, no matter how cool the rom may end up being. Quote
RedWingDevil Posted November 6, 2010 Report Posted November 6, 2010 A new goalie button? Which one is it going to be? Are we also going to use the 6-button configuration? Quote
smozoma Posted November 6, 2010 Report Posted November 6, 2010 A new goalie button? Which one is it going to be? Are we also going to use the 6-button configuration? right, you'll have to set up your controller as 6-button, and then you can use one of the extra buttons to take goalie control. amazing, can't wait to see it..
