LA Robbie Posted May 24, 2011 Report Share Posted May 24, 2011 (edited) Here is the list of confirmed coaches for season 1 of the GENS 2011 league. If you wish to join this league state your interest here, and if there are no places available you'll be put on the waiting list. We currently have 3, six team conferences. The skill level in each league is mixed. For this first season we're playing a smaller number of regular season games to make sure we have everyone's commitment & that we get completed, so you'll play home and away within your own conference, plus 1 game home or away against each team from the other conferences. This means a 22 game regular season, followed by 7-game playoff series. We've called them EAST, CENTRAL & WEST but they're not geographically correct, but rather are based on getting a fair mix of skill levels for the regular season. The top 2 in each conference and the 2 best 3rd placed teams will go into "A" playoffs. The next 8 go into "B" playoffs, and the worst 2 records playoff for the wooden spoon/Egg Cup/Toilet Bowl. LA Robbie Posted May 26, 2011 Author Report Share Posted May 26, 2011 Just to make everyone aware, we're moving the sign-up deadline up to 8:00pm Thursday 26th May to allow ProBob sufficient time to plan the groups, and in turn me to do the schedule. Having a 2 year old baby & $0 I forgot other people have things to do Friday nights!! We have 18 so it'll be perfect to have 3 groups of 6, maybe an Eastern Zone, Central Zone, Western Zone? and a 22 game regular season before A & B playoffs. Hope you're all enjoying your practice games and looking forward to the season. I for one just think this rom's incredible & so superior to the classic rom. Plus, as someone that doesn't follow the NHL this is like discovering a whole new game and seeing all these new names. Having Anaheim for this league I think Perry might be taking a place in my heart as the new Roenick! lol Schedule will be posted this weekend, and then we'll get started next week. The acid test will be getting the leagues & schedules right this weekend, and then keeping on top of everything once the season's up & running! Just thought I'd put it out there that we are an hour and a half away from the deadline, and we have a nice number of 18 users, which will set up 3 divisions of 6 teams each. As a result, we're going to close open sign-ups. Any members wishing to join the league from here on out will be placed on the Waiting List. Thanks for the great feedback folks! I will get working on setting up the divisions here in a moment, and then once that's completed LA Robbie will create the schedules, which are expected to be completed sometime this weekend to my understanding.
