BLitz 06 - Lines(Rosters)

Recommended Posts

NOTE: I DON'T DO "MAKE THIS GUY COME IN WHEN THAT GUY GETS A PENALTY." Figure out how that works and post your lines appropriately.

Please use the format/order below. It is the order the NOSE editor uses, so if they're written this way, it's way faster to make the lines in the ROM. If they're not like this, I'll ignore them.

Thanks.

Also, if you have two players with the same number, you can specify a new number for one of them (or i'll do it myself when i make the ROM, not a big issue). Here's how you should choose a new number for them:

  1. The better player should keep their original number (except in the case of a starting goalie and starting skater.. change the goalie in that case).
  2. Try to change the number to another number they wore during their career. Or, just add 1 to their old number (or more if someone else has that number!)
  3. Example: If you have two defense with say the number 4, change the lower rated player to either 5 or 44 or another number he wore.

I want the better players to keep their numbers whenever possible, to avoid confusion, getting surprised not knowing Bure was changed to 96 or whatever.

Team: TeamName

First Line

G - PlayerName

LD - PlayerName

RD - PlayerName

LW - PlayerName (make him #17 (number he wore when he was with the Capitals))

C - PlayerName

RW - PLayerName

X - Player Name (extra attacker when goalie pulled)

Second Line

G - PlayerName

LD - PlayerName

RD - PlayerName

LW - PlayerName

C - PlayerName

RW - PLayerName

X - Player Name (extra attacker when goalie pulled)

AJ explained how the subbing during penalties works:

If the starting C gets a penalty, the 2nd line C comes in, if that player gets a penalty as well while the 1st C is in, then the next available left wing is the center, which is the 1st line left wing, then if that player gets a penalty, its the 2nd line left wing, and if you somehow get all 4 in the box, the 1st RW takes over.

On defense, if you get 3 D men in the box, your first LW becomes the other defenseman.

The 2nd RW is a dead spot in the lineup, it will only come in without editing the lines if the starting RW gets hurt. This is the perfect place to hide the guys that you never want to see the ice under any circumstance aside from injury to your starting RW.

Bo made a really detailed thread explaining how line subs work:

http://forum.nhl94.c...showtopic=11492

I think there was some issue with Bo's method... oh well.

Dunno if there's ever been a nastier meaner presence on D from top to bottom. Prepare for some smash fests.

So can we put similar guys on both lines or is that a no-no ?

Yeah, it's fine. it's a way to try to get certain guys to come in to replace other guys when they get penalties.. but I do'nt fully understand how it works (putting guy X at position Y means he'll show in Z game situation)

I think what he did there was make it so if Neely gets a penalty, Messier moves from LW to C, and Lemeiux from RW to LW.

Yep. It's constructed so:

If Messier gets a penalty, Lemieux gets in and no one replaces him (RW is the one pinched whn there's a penalty)

If Neely gets a penalty, Lemieux goes to LW, and Messier to C. (If tries to replace the C first, so Messier moves, and then tries to replace the LW)

If there's injury it's the same + Kurri

no...

see the original post. you can't make their numbers whatever you want. it's confusing for your opponents when a #10 blows past at 5 speed when there is no starter with that expected number.

RW - Ed Olczyk (make him # 9)

Also no. I already said Bure can't change from 10, why do you think Olcyzk can change to 9? Don't try to slip it past, that's weak.

reminder to self: New rule for next year will be if you have guys who are not shown in your lines (due to trying to get PK lines to work automatically), you need to put them at the end of your list.
