dan_lizhot
You can post here your request for the website for this season and for the next season. We will check if we are able to make it.
LA Robbie
1) Save state compatibility to upload stats the same as Blitz league 2) History section recording all past season´s champions, results, standings & playoffs 3) AIM list section so you can add new coaches if their username is different to their AIM name 4) Email list so you can contact guys you don´t see on AIM like classic league has Once again, awesome job on the website. Congrats again to everyone involved in helping set season 2 up!
smozoma
Couple typos.. "gens emularor " -> "gens emulator" "Result" -> "Results" A couple 'accessibility' ideas.. Change the "Select" button text to "Submit Score" Figure out why it sorts lowest to highest when you click on the sorting links on the standings, and reverse it. (Should do DESC first, not ASC)

da94wookiee
LOL @ Smozoma. One NHL94 site to rule them all! Imagine... A single database with Classic, Blitz, GDL, 2012... there could even be some algorithm to figure out overall rankings like they use in Chess organizations. I'm kinda new here, but that sounds really cool.

mav
i think that the ranking system for everyone that plays classic, gdl, and blitz still exists but i dont think anything's changed much in rankings anyway Edited November 17, 2011 by mav

kupuck19
Just a general thought,,,, I am thinking it might be best long term to have one monster web site to house all leagues. Thoughts?? Totally agree - I think the idea for making nhl94online.com to be like this has been brought up before and I think I remember probob saying Chaos would help him with the 2012 lg to run things on the classic domain. Only thing would be is classic is not yet set up to have things recorded by savestates, so that would probably take an awesome community member with some web-design and coding talent. It would definitely give our community a more active feel when newcomers come across the website to see all the different things that go on without reading the forums. I have some free time its just a matter of figuring it out which I am sure is harder than smoz makes it sound haha It takes time and lots of googling, just have to keep hammering away at things until they work. I can always give out my db/source code to anyone who wants to see it, to help them figure out how to design the data structure of their DB and make the queries to retrieve and display the data. I just don't give much help with it, though.

da94wookiee
Just as a suggestion, it would be cool if the Latest Scores box at nhl94online.com was updated to reflect playoff games. That got me thinking that if someone really wanted to do a master database, there should be a latest scores page with all the scores from major leagues and links to box scores, videos, standings, and/or other relevant info (like ranking, 3 stars, or whatever else you can think of). Perhaps there could be filters set up in case you only wanted to check a specific league or a specific player/team. I just started a Computer Science degree a couple months ago. We started learning databases last week and this week we're learning SQL. I'd be happy to do some work on this project. Is there a webpage with a list of all the major NHL '94 leagues and the people that run them?
kingraph
Is there a webpage with a list of all the major NHL '94 leagues and the people that run them? I'd check out the online league forums for a list of active leagues: http://forum.nhl94.com/index.php?/forum/19-online-leagues/ The NHL94.com homepage could use a good overhaul, as has been mentioned a bunch of times, and this idea of having links/information/latest scores/etc. to the various active leagues out there would be a great addition to that homepage. As long as it's done right, it would attract more people to play. This is a pretty active community, but it's not apparent unless you're scouting the forums. If the nhl94.com homepage would reflect that current activity better, it'd be a win/win for everyone. People browsing through would be more likely to stick around, and the active community can have a single portal to the various leagues out there. kingraph
Seconded. So many ways the 94.com site could be improved Maybe we should start a new thread of useful suggestions/improvements to the '94 site. But with real, practical examples from people who may know something about web design/development/administration -- not just wishlists/complaints. Unfortunately I'm not a web designer or developer, so I can't offer much help here. I'll ask around and see if I can get some useful advice from people who do this for a living. If anything comes up we can always drop a note to Evan's suggestion box (or start that thread). It'd be great to hook up with a school that has a web design class. I'm sure there are projects out there where students have to design or re-design a website. Potentially a nice way to land some ideas gratis! chaos
I wish I had the power to update the nhl94.com site, but I don't have access to it. Fancy workaround to update the home page a little bit, but that's it. Evan has control of that. I could ask him for permission, though. What are some of the things you would like to see on the home page? That would be a good thread to start, I agree. There are a lot of things I want to update on the nhl94online site, and I've been kind of doing it in steps, where eventually any league can be run on it with an easy setup process. Unfortunately, lately I've been traveling a lot for work and my sweet programming setup is on my home computer. This winter I will have time to work on it, and make some new updates before Spring season. - old stats from pre-2008 are my first priority. The league was run for a little bit on a lot of different sites. - more stat pages (a versus page where you can see how you fared against another coach, playoff records, some other ones I can't think of right now) - save states - player stats Playoff game scores on the 94online site I can do easily. I've thought about that doing that in the past. The database is SQL and all the pages use PHP on the 94online site. PHP is actually pretty easy to learn if you have some C programming experience. It is VERY similar to C. SQL is complicated, but in reality there is much with databases that in our kind of situation you don't use. So a little knowledge of SQL is needed, and google is your best friend. Congrats to Dan, he's done a superb job with his 2012 site and with this coming SNES draft site! LA Robbie
Please put latest results on the 2012 homepage! Its so frustrating seeing the standings have changed, but then having to check guys individual results to see who it was they probably played. Can we also put the name of a player's team next to the team logo, and not just his AIM name. Not trying to be critical. Awesome job Dan. We're lucky to have you. Just suggesting the tweaks it needs here and there.
