Thanks - I picked up an EA Hockey MegaDrive game (complete with everything) as well. I really like the international skin there.

Trying to figure out why we call EA '91? When it seems that from the article EA hockey came out after NHL hockey. So I'm thinking we should also be calling it '92?

@halifax I’m sure this is known/posted somewhere on here but the rosters and player ratings between EA and NHL hockey are identical. Soviet Union is Pittsburgh, Canada is LA, USA is Calgary, etc. Very easy to see in a side by side of NOSE.

@smozoma it really puts NJ, WSH, VAN, and PHI in a different light...Spain, Italy, UK and Portugal. Not exactly hotbeds of hockey.

That is a huge reason why I visited Hungary a few years ago and was able to enjoy it as much as I did.

FYI, Japan actually replaces Sweden in the Famicom / Japanese version.

That's why I thought there might be a Japanese team in the Japanese version of EA Hockey.

I grew up thinking Poland was known for hockey because of that game.

probably just a throwback that someone added to later when the year was added to the name, it was never actually named that, always EA HOCKEY to me

ahh just seeing the preview in MEAN MACHINES was enough for me for an instant sale, as i was looking for a decent enough ice hockey game ... and after TWO DECADES of using it for my simming competitions it was retired

and i guess the teams were selected because they were the more popular ones ... yes even poland
