More controversy then. Remember, this IS NOT a list of where I think these teams will finish. It is intended to judge the strengths of roster, with little consideration for the coach in control of them, so the team I rate last may well be the team I think will finish first (See my evaluation of Mav's Hartford roster in the B league rankings). One thing I will say is that every team in A has it's merits, and it's going to be really interesting to see how much skill level dictates results more than team strengths.

The rankings are based purely on the subjective opinions used to do my team reviews, so you're gonna disagree for sure. It's all about personal preference and your criteria for a strong team, but I basically look at how much a team covers all the bases (Offence, defence, physical size, skills, elite match winners etc.), so if I think your teams great but lacks a special talent you might be quite low, or if it looks stacked on offence but has poor D again, it might be low, even if that's exactly what suits your game.

Feel free to discuss, rant and rave and please vote above, and do the same for the B league if you haven't already.

A league team rankings:

1) NEW YORK RANGERS (Boknowsnhl94) - Someone tell me where the weakness is here? #66, elite D & goalie. Simply awesome

2) DALLAS (KingRaph) - Teemu, Neely, Zhamnov - Most exciting offence in the A league? Monstrous D to boot. V tough team.

3) ANAHEIM (Habs) - Roenick, Tikkanen, Hawerchuk, McLean in goal. Awesome offence. Slightly lacking on D?

4) BUFFALO (Icestorm) - Huge team carried by Lindros & Carson. So tough to beat.

5) PHILADELPHIA(Carse) - Recchi, Ciccarelli, Makarov make for an incredible offence, Iafrate on D. Is offensive muscle & poor goalie holding them back?

6) LOS ANGELES (Dcicon) - Like Phily it's an all-star offence with Zalapski on D & Cujo in goal. Another light offensive line though.

7) SAN JOSE (Houly) - Bure carries the scoring responsibilities. Solid, tough all-round team

8) CHICAGO (Zalex) - Turgeon & Muller scoring the goals. Ranford in G. Is the D too small?

9) MONTREAL (Freydey) - Best starting D in the game? Each forward has a specialist skill, but do they need a true match-winner?

10) FLORIDA (xdeathsbloodx) - Hull leading the line, Hatcher & Tatarinov make great D. Is there a lack of quality support and finishing ability?

11) PITTSBURGH (Perennial Choker) - Yzerman & Sakic make elite offence leading a tiny team. Will they be dominated?

12) VANCOUVER(Hokkefan) - Balanced all-round team, but is it lacking star quality?

I gotta put my squad at number 1. Mobile hammers on D, stevens and gord murphy. A sniper in carson, a checking/sniping machine in lindros, and a speed merchant in geoff courtnall.

Capable goalie in the quick light agile casey.

Tough to disagree. You could probably rearrange those first 6 anyway you wanted and make a case for it.
