Snyder
As I read The Hockey News' yearbook for this year, I noticed again that they had picked the Canuckleheads and Penguins as the best bets to win the Stanley cup. Disregarding the fact that the lockout is in effect, once the season starts, the Pens do have a chance to go the distance. However there are several crucial questions they will have to answer along the way: Can Malkin have a repeat of his exceptional 109 point season? Will Crosby play more than half the season for the first time since 2009-10? How will the loss of power forward Jordan Staal to Carolina and gritty vet Steve Sullivan to Phoenix effect them? Can Marc-Andre Fleury rebound after a horrendous first round against the Flyers? Can their D-men, who at times look rather meager, step it up? They will need to answer these questions if they want to be the team that was the 2008-09 Stanley Cup Champions and not the team that hasn't made it past the second round of the playoffs the past three seasons.
