What was the best team you ever assembled in a draft league and what was the result:

Dynasty League (WBF)

Mario Lemieux

Petr Klima

Stephane Richer

Steve Smith

Alexei Zhamnov

James Patrick

Gary Suter

Finish:

TBD, but this team is OUTSTANDING

Runner Up:

GDL Season Season 4

Dino Ciccarelli

Neal Broten

Bruce Driver

Calle Johannsson

Don Beaupre

Finish:

Lost in Finals to AJ in 6 games

Please consider the environment before printing this email.

My favorite (and best) draft team was Blitz 07.

LW - Teemu Selanne

C - Cam Neely (#5 in checks in regular season, 2nd in points (139)

RW - Geoff Sanderson

x - Alexei Zhamnov

LD - Marty McSorley (#6 in checks in regular season)

RD - Glen Featherstone (# 2 in checks in regular season)

G - Tim Cheveldae

Finish: Lost to Freydey in the finals in 5.

My '13 Fantasy Draft Team was also pretty sick. It won't make any sense to post the names because nobody will be familiar with the ratings, but that team steamrolled and won the league.

Everyone in Dynasty should have a stacked team as there are only 14 coaches. ;)

I've considered the environment and still decided to print.

That McSorely & Featherson Defense was killer!

loved my Blitz 6 squad:

Brett Hull

Pat Lafontaine

Rob Reichel

Teppo Numminen

Steve Chiasson

John Vanbiesbrk

Hull had 148 pts (117G 31A) and led my team in checks. Lost to an even better team facing Houly in the finals as Bure showed his true stardom that season.

GDL 9 team was very good too:

Doug Gilmour

Sergei Makarov

Dmitri Khristich/Terry Yake

Jim Johnson

Tommy Sjodin

Chris Terreri

Lost to Raph in the playoffs, it wasn't as much me as it was Gilmour. He's that good.

Some favorite tms of mine for other users:

Freydey: Blitz Seasons 3&4 - Yzerman & Hull, absolutely killer.

Houly: Blitz Season 6 - Pavel Bure dominated.

Probob: Blitz 7 -Nuewendyk, Lafontain & Stevens - Tinordi & Manson on the back end

Eggink: Blitz 7 - Lot's a weight, super tough to beat. Upset on Wook in Blitz 7 final - epic squad.

Icestorm: Blitz 6 - Lindros, Carson, Courtnall, Stevens made for an absolutely mean looking team.

Had the "luxury" of playing kupuck's blitz 6 team and raph's blitz 7 team. thankfully, they were all exis. both of those teams were stacked.

my only real experience of a draft team was my blitz 7 team, which I did like. had some fun with the Tinordi-Manson d-pairing. had a subpar regular season but a relentless playoff effort allowed them to reach the semi's before losing to wook's Leafs

  • 2 weeks later...

My regular season Blitz 07 B champs:

Russ Courntall

Modano

Andreychuk

Kjell Samuelsson

Krupp

Essensa

Key to this team was learning how to play with double goon defensemen...always had problems against the fast guys so you had to predict the other guy's moves at times. Very fun to play with mixing in the crazy speed of Russ and Modano.

GDL 93 :D (Weight Bug)

Brett Hull

Russ Courtnall

Tomas Sandstrom

Phil Housley

Sylvain Cote

Ron Hextall

FINISH: League destroyed.. But Raph, TK and I were killin it B)

Wow, forgot about this one. This was kind of unfair with a lot of new guys. In a league where nothing but weight, speed and agility matter (imo):

Theo Fleury (2 wgt, 5.6 spd, 5.6 agi)

Igor Larionov (3 wgt, 4 spd, 6 agi)

Denis Savard (4wgt, 5.2 spd, 6 agi)

led my team to a 41-0-0-2 record before the league blowed up. Note, the ratings are a 15 point scale, but I convert it back to 6 for familiarity, so that's why you see 5.6 (14).

Best: Clockwise's NHL '91 (season 2)

LW: Geoff Courtnall

C: Kevin Stevens

RW: Esa Tikkanen

D: Ulf Samuelsson

D: Jamie Macoun

G: Peter Sidorkwicz

Result: Champion, 4-1 over Freydey

Stevens was an all around beast that I snagged late in the 1st, Courtnall was the speedy playmaker, everyone else had plus skills, mobility and hitting acumen. A team that could play any style.

Runner Up: GDL 3

LW: Hawerchuk

C: Sandstrom

RW: Robitaille

D: Lidstrom

D: Russell/Driver

G: Richter

Result: Lost final to KG in 7

Offensive powerhouse, Hawerchuk's coming out party after he was maligned by the community. Big hitting D, but suspect G and lack of speed was the downfall of this team.

Best Free Agent Team: Blitz 'A' 1

LW: Kelly Miller

C: Chris Kontos

RW: Bobby Holik

D: Michel Petit

D: Bob Rouse

G: Stephane Fiset

Result: Champion in 4 over gr8199

Picks #277-288 raise the cup.

it would be even more impressive if every other team wasnt forced to use a bunch of butt plugs bc we had to pick from our team's original roster using that weird formula for wgt bug before smoz fully cracked it (JOEL OTTO FOR THE LOSS)
