jbalicki10
I have done programming in the past, IE COBOL Assembler etc... Never tried to code stuff for video games. Are the tools used today simplistic to make games? Was thinking of making a simple nhl94 like game. Any developers here?
smozoma
COBOL and assembler? Wow, old-school! I've never really made games, but I think Python is the easiest/fastest-to-use language around for general purpose things. Try checking out the google results for python game development: https://www.google.ca/search?q=python+game+programming https://www.google.ca/search?q=python+game+development Frameworks are popular these days, rather than coding things from scratch. If you want to code for the iPhone, that's usually done with Objective-C. Android is Java, but can also be done with some kind of C/C++ using the NDK (native development kit). smozoma
One step at a time . Making Pong first would probably be a great start (has a 'puck' and 2 'players'...)

smozoma
Ha, that's cool. Yeah, frameworks can get you up and running pretty quickly. Just hope that everything you want to do is supported by the framework!
