No commish = no league. Got a hold of him on twitter few days ago. He said he's been super busy and apologized. Said he'd get back to working on things soon. In interim, i don't think we need him to get season going. Chaos needed a saved state to check site. Beyond that i think there's little else needed to start, am i missing anything? King and I played a bunch of exi's last night and I got blasted in part due to the C/B check. Blasted so much i had to quit playing like a loser. I don't have any interest in learning that hack of the game and frankly it really eliminates a lot of the individual player attributes when it comes to checking. I'm the first to admit I use many 'hacks' aka pass shots, slap dekes periodic cross crease shots but those are all offensive measures. The C B check is the only hack available defensively and it really changes the whole dymanic of the game (anyone can knock down anyone using speed burst). So that said, I won't be able to compete at the level I'd like to without learning that hack, I have no interest in learning that one and to be honest it really cheapens the game. (Assuming a ROM with the normal weight bug) you could check heavy players with light players as usual using the C button, but if you wanted to check a light player with a heavy player, you could do so by checking with C, then, before contact was made, pressing B to switch to another player. You seem to understand it (it's not that complicated), so it shouldn't be that hard to start implementing it into your game. This community only needs on fokkeefan, you can learn to adapt! Raph keep it up don't hold back on the cb checks. People like you force this community to adapt. Without 'play to win' adapting players like you this community would have banned pass shots years ago. Theres nothing to 'evolving' or making the game better with it. It's not hard to learn at all but it cheapens the game. You draft a sweeney because he pretty much can only be B checked, now steve smith or eric lindros can essentially c chk him. How's that evolving or diversifying the game? It's a reward for lining them up perfectly. I personally think it's a dynamic that only ADDS to 94's depth. Without it wouldn't everything depend on weight basically? Brutus Posted September 11, 2014 Report Share Posted September 11, 2014 Mentally, playing against the CB bug in Blitz is mentally demoralizing and it's why I requested SMOZ to look into it way back when. You draft fat farts to take hits and someone else drafts fast guys giving up the check skill & the ability to take a hit in exchange for the speed he gains. Then, you play that guy, and suddenly, your not only slower, but getting the sh&t knocked out of you as well. 1000% opposite of all other exploits. It goes off puck control, but it has a limited range, and if it misses, does leave your opponent switching to different defenders in a game that doesn't switch so friendly back & forth. I usually gladly play in any league, including SNES, that does a season w/ the penalties off. I don't compare the two "bugs", although I see Raph's points. Not to mention i have zero interest in learning that hack since there is no 'defending' it unlike pass shots and slap dekes. It bastardizes the game. So lump my opinion in with hokkees but thats the easy way Well aware of the post hokkee put up, i commented on it about him not adapting. But this CB check is completely different than anything he was complaining about. It drastically changes the game Last i knew brutus it was going to be in blitz.
