RBI Baseball Rom featuring Canada's 2 MLB teams from 1987.

The Blue Jays went 96-66 and finished just 2 games out in the AL East. (2nd Best Record in Majors)

The Expos went 91-71 and finished just 4 games out in the NL East

The Original RBI Baseball has the 8 Division Winners from 1986 and 1987.

Plus an American and National League All-Star Team.

The All-Star teams are useless as they are to good to use against any one but each other.

So, I left the Rom in its Original Form except for replacing the All-star Teams with the 2 Canadian teams.

I used other players with similar stats to come up with ratings for TOR and MTL.

Raines and Gallaraga were already in the game for MTL on NL All-Stars..

Bell, Key, and Henke were already in the game for TOR on AL All-Stars.

AL

Boston 86

California 86

Detroit 87

Minnesota 87

Toronto 87

NL

NY Mets 86

Houston 86

St. Louis 87

San Francisco 87

Montreal 87

Rating Montreal and Toronto Players.

The system I used comes very close to how the players were actually rated in the game.

Tim Raines, Andres Gallaraga, and George Bell keep the same ratings they had on All-Star Teams.

Same with pitchers Jimmy Key and Tom Henke.

The rest of the pitchers are just new names typed over the All-Star Pitchers. (So the pitching should be good)

Hard to rate pitchers and I am not sure what all ratings do. Kinda like goalies in 94.

For the rest of the batters you just need 3 ratings (Contact, Power, Speed)

Contact (Batting Average)

Lower is better

each .005 lowers your contact by 1.

.200 = 35

.205 = 34

.210 = 33

.215 = 32

.220 = 31

.225 = 30

etc...

.250 = 25

etc...

.275 = 20

etc....

.300 =15

etc...

.325 = 10

etc...

Power (Home Runs)

Higher is better

0 Homers = 700

each Home Run adds 5 to Power

10 Homers = 750

20 Homers = 800

30 Homers = 850

40 Homers = 900

50 Homers = 950

Speed (Stolen Bases)

Higher is better

0 SB = 120

each SB raises your speed 1 point up to 20

10 SB = 130

20 SB = 140

It is a fun and easy game to Edit.

I may be busy! :grimace:

Tentative Opening Day June 1. (So everyone can focus on classic first)

Available Teams: HOU

1. CoachMac (DET)

2. Russian Rocket (MTL)

3. JackandJose (STL)

4. Mav (BOS)

5. HABS (TOR)

6. Chaos (CAL)

7. Jer33 (MIN)

8. AngryJay (SF)

9. Cam Kneely (NY)

10.

Cool, I was impressed by the passion for Baseball in Canada.

I've been looking for a fun way to add 2 more teams to the classic rom.

And this made sense.

Though apparently, the rom did not attach.

I guess no NES roms are allowed.

If you want it I'll send it to you on AIM.

I was thinking about an RBI League.

I know Jack&Jose plays, but The Bad News Baseball Guys got theirs up first.

Cool idea! You can send it to me if you want. I recently made a 2007 playoff ROM to commemorate the Rockies playoff run (winning 21 of 22 games) if you're interested.

I would sign up for an RBI league(after classic and gdl finish).

Put it in a zip file, then post it. NES emulators can play zip files anyway.

I remember the Jays blew that season in the final week.

"They had been in first place by 3½ games over the Detroit Tigers with a week left to play, but they dropped their next seven games in a row, capped off by a sweep at the hands of Detroit at Tiger Stadium on the last weekend of the season, and lost the division by two games."

If you guys need editing help or whatever let me know. I run rbibaseball.us and run the 30 team update project every season. I'm also writing a website that allows you to track your league. Good luck!

Hey bud, have you figured out how to extract the stats from the save, or are you just building a site where you can manually input the stats?

From save. I had a site running for a while:

Http://Rbibaseball.us/players

man...this is great! I had seen that site a while back and was trying to find it again recently. Love that site bud. that's great stuff!

I'm on the fence, really don't have a lot of experience with this rom. I've played 1 player Bad News, which seems very similar.

I have updated current team selections.

Those choices are now official.

I am also fixing up the rom.

None of the Original teams are or will be changed but the Jays and Spos need some fixes to speed and power.

I will post a new rom later tonight.

Teams available:

CAL, MIN, NYM, SF, HOU

Very cool site, tjans!

That expanded rom is nice.

Updated the OP with the NEW ROM we will use for league play and current LEAGUE ALIGNMENT and TEAMS.

4 spots left.

I also included my rating system for the Blue Jays and Expos.

I also used this on some new roms I am creating.

Also included a new rom, I knocked out last night.

1960's Pennant Races

This goes well with my Original 6 Hockey Roms
