Top 3 (in no particular order) are beyond question in my mind.

@corbettkb

@kingraph

@angryjay93

corbettkb/tex has almost double the amount of GP all-time of anyone, the most wins, attends almost all and performs well at Live events.  Always first to play all his games.  Is a great dude.

kingraph and angryjay are second and third in GP and wins all time, plus they totally own/dominate Live events.  And both are great dudes.

Next 7 (in no particular order)

@Plabax

@Carse

@Uncle Seth

@Brutus

@IceStorm70

@kgman

@IAmFleury'sHipCheck

Omg, you're right.  I don't even remember that.  Or why nobody was in 15.

I'm going to put together a more complete timeline.

I'll keep this short and sweet. This is by no means comprehensive.

Whatever tier I'm on, Raph is at the very least on it if not one ahead. Last 4-5 years have been he and I duking it out at every opportunity granted.

Carse was the best I ever saw at imposing his will on people. Scary thing was by the time I was stepping away/fooling around with a controller (I was a keyboard player up to 2010) was that Carse evolved as a player. Once he learned how to do that, he took off.

Plabax is tier 1, all controversies aside, results speak for themselves.

The rest of the names I'd put in a hat. All are strong players, some impressed me in my games with them but their overall league results lacked (Ice, Seth, Zalex)

Others were obviously strong and had better results but did not overly impress me in my games with them (Frey, FPB, TomKabs). Please don't hear what I'm not saying on this one. These guys are all indisputable great players, I just thought what  I could take advantage of was more identifiable.

The remaining are incredible freaks of nature that can step up their game and I wish I had more exposure to in games in general or games with good connections (Kgman, Swos, Depch)

I put those results up without a lot of analysis.  Was a fun research project to fill in some missing pieces from the older leagues since the sites aren't around.

The section where Carse has consecutive Blitz, GDL and Classic titles really pops.  April 2010 to June of 2013 Carse was a champ, runner up, or losing to Freydey.  In hindsight, I may have to give him more credit.  His style was more direct, but clearly effective.

Not everyone played each league each season, obviously, but it's still fun to review.  Swos only played one season of Blitz and won, for example.

Maybe I'll update the sheet later to give certain players colors, to make it easier to see how they popped up in the top 4 over the years.

I have a document of top player career 'series win : series loss' ratios for gdl+blitz+classic. I call this nhl 94 kill-death ratios

My rankings are heavily based on those ratios + factoring in title wins

I like this.  What I did was I took the series win against other "top" coaches that we are all listing here, for the most part, and put it into a matrix.  Read TOP DOWN is W-L.  So AJ is 1-2 vs Carse, for example, and 16-13 in this sample set.

What stands out to me here is Plabax's win% against those top coaches, followed by Freydey and swos.  To me, this is a nice statistic that backs up TomKabs' rankings and is great to see.

IceStorm had the most series' played at 42, followed by me at 39 and Carse at 37 due to the many GDL/Blitz/Classic participation.

Shockingly, I have only played AJ in ONE online series (in these leagues) and lost.  It was our classic matchup of LA (AJ) and PIT (Raph) that went 7, I remember it well!  It feels like we played about 50, but I guess that's all from the live tournaments.  I also hate my goose eggs against swos, Freydey and Carse.  It was earlier in my '94 career, but damn!

Add in kingof94s to that list (?)

And technically I won Classic Fall 18 if your into that sort of thing.

Fixed Classic 18, my bad.

LOVE that table raph. That's a really great way to compare high level coaches. Some real interesting stuff, its def better than my overall win:loss ratios, since it factors out super lopsided matchups

I would completely understand if some people object to me making the cut because i have the smallest sample size, i just have a hard time justifying putting others above personally

Such epic careers from Zalex and Icestorm as you can see! So cool

Yes, we always find each other in live play but we also do a really good job in finding each other for those secondary leagues. (Line Roll, Et tu Brute, 91)

I wish the secondary leagues counted for more. I feel like I have done better proportionally speaking there.

Who says they don't?

@kingraph is a great statistician and the work he has done is amazing.

Stats can be manipulated to say what you want them to.

Top 10 coaches means more than stats and especially stats from a few leagues.

@corbettkb is getting no love.

Plays every league, great attitude, great dedication, great talent.

And statistically by Wins and Games Played he is #1.

Do you rank Ron Francis ahead of Mario Lemieux?
