SSiG
Richer's Game-Winner is a Dagger Through the Hearts of Devils Fans Ottawa's fans saw a very exciting game despite a low score. They also got their happy ending. Stephane Richer's double and game winner in overtime sent the sold out crowd at the Ottawa Civic Center home very happy. It also sent Devils coach Tom Delgado into a state of depression. "This one hurts really bad" Delgado told the media after the loss. "We really played hard, and I hate it for these guys. They wanted this win so bad, and we couldn't get it. The point is a small consolation, but these guys deserved to win. We're getting better, and we're gonna try to rebound from this" He added. Bob Essensa, who made 7 saves, including 2 big ones to keep the game tied, did not talk to reporters, as he was visibly shaken. The last we saw of Bob, he was being consoled by goalies coach Glenn "Chico" Resch.
