just for shits and giggles and hopefully future development....

Here's "NHL Hockey" for PC

first you need a DOS emulator...

http://dosbox.sourceforge.net/download.php?main=1

and get the game here

http://www.abandonia.com/games/235/NHL_Hoc...NHLHockey93.htm

before you go asking me question.... make sure you know a little about DOS commands... and READ the DOSBOX FAQ!!!

here's what i had to do to get mine working

-install DOSBox

-dclick the .exe

mount C D:\ (because my games are on D:)

C:

cd oldgames

cd nhlhoc~1

hockey

alot of stuff dont emulate with DOSBox... so you better off buy an old 486 off ebay for like 20 bucks =)

nice avatar swos !!!

this is what we should be trying to develop....

a PC version not a rom

nhl and nhl 95 for PC are much better platforms to try to develop on

the games are DOS based, so theyd have to be redone to work on todays computers.... the DOS emulators just dont run them right

i dont think there is a 94 for PC

you dont get it...

95 for the PC is just like 94 for genesis sorta... its not the new style crap stuff

we all hate...

its like the old good ones, the old style

but i think id be a great base to start off....

theres really not much you can do with a rom... but computer programs on the other hand are limitless =)

Oh, well why didn't you say so? Sounds like a good idea, an actual computer program would be much more malleable.

I can give you 2 great reasons why I will only edit the rom version.

1. Manual goalie option

2. Kaillera Netplay (after all 99% of all my matches are played online nowadays)

About the DOS, why use dosbox when you can download DOS and use the real thing instead? (just keep one partition of your hard drive fat32, the new dos 7.x supports it)

Honestly, the manual goalie in the Genesis console is pathetic. By the time you gain control the puck is in the net. It gets in the way more than it helps. And netplay is good for leagues but not much else since lag is always a factor.

I think developing the PC version should definetely be explored more since most games are played by ourselves, or with friends actually with you in the same room (or at least it should be that way).
