WWF Survivor Series Shoot-Out!

Thanks eh. It was a fun experiment.

Don't normally make covers for my ROMs, but my brother wouldn't stop bugging me about this one so I figured I'd slap something together with all the period correct assets.

Since I have it, might as well include it here too.

Not in print resolution, but at least I won't have to worry about seeing the "physical release" on some online store some day.

gorgeous

If you can get the superstars theme or Colosseum video jingle or Superstars theme to play at during the menus it would really set the game off.

Thanks to a few recent discussions and some breakthroughs on things that I was thinking I'd like to have done from the start, I figured it was time to put this out.
This update includes a few major and minor changes, [thanks @AdamCatalyst and @chaos] of both the over and under the hood variety.

Most obvious being:

Filling up the screen for even more action-packed mayhem.

Jessie and Vince get a little animated during their discussions.

A goalie and a fan share a moment.

Hot and cold streaks are given a little more impact and ratings got a bit of an attitude adjustment.

Full list of updates and ROM in the original post.

I think the only thing that I'd like to do, but haven't yet, I convert some Nintendo NSF chip tunes of wrestler theme songs into in-game organ music, but I haven't the time or drive required to be able to wrap my head around that one yet. If anyone wants to help me out on that, that would be the best.

Yeah I would like to adapt some NES tunes if I could, but I haven't really figured out how to do that. So I settled for switching up the instrumentation and changing the intermission music to NHLPA93's.

Looks fantastic, Speed boosts are insane. Love it.

My apologies for the duplicate post. Error on my end.

WWFSSSO - V101 FIGHT v4.2.bin

* Just a note on one known issue.
In a case where a player is injured as a result of a fight, that player is still assessed a major, but will not be able to go back on the ice once the penalty is over [because you know, they're still injured]. It appears that in the case of multiple fights resulting in injuries, once the major penalty is over, and the injury flag is still present, the major is getting rolled over into a game long minor. A goal against will end the extended power play and allow the recovered player to return to the ice. I mentioned this to chaos, but have patience. We're way outside the original manufacturer's extended warranty here folks.

Is it possible to get this game formatted to a Genesis compatible cartridge??

While I doubt I'll be playing this, I do think it's incredibly cool. When I was a kid I would have been super into it. I was a wrestling fanatic and still watch old 80's wrestling often. And as a kid I'd make up games kinda like this, I certainly remember pretending wrestlers were basketball or baseball players and imagining what they would be good at (have you seen the NWA basketball game from the 80's where Dusty is draining threes? Haha!) In fact I bet I made a Baseball Stars team full of wrestlers at one point! I also think it's fun to think up who the teams would be, with themes for each, so I bet you had a blast doing this. Super fun stuff.

Damn, I had not seen that NWA basketball game before, but I looked up a video and some of those guys could actually play.

And Baseball Stars is a fantastic game [that may have inspired a few hockey mods] and among all the custom teams, I probably made a team of wrestlers at some point myself.

Actually this was pretty fun until it came down to having to pick enough guys to make a second line for a lot of the teams. There just wasn't a lot of big names in that era to fill two, never mind three, lines on the minimum 16 teams to arrange a proper playoff bracket. And even if I decided to make less teams, then that would be combining a few flimsy or downright questionable alliances if you were up on your '80s wrestling lore. At least it was fun to look up all of the jobbers and mid-card guys that just disappeared back into the regional promotions and see what happened to some of these guys you remember from a few random Saturday mornings.

What cha gonna do when Hulkamania, NHL 94, and the Fighting Patch Run Wild On You BROTHER!
