SunnydaleSpike
First of all I want to thank wboy and all the others for their great tutorials and references. Without those I wouldn't have made it this far. Currently I am working on a ROM for my fantasy league, but that is basically a tune-up so I can better know what I am doing when I start work on my first real project- either a WHA or 80's NHL ROM. My problem is that my rink logos don't match the palette I am using. I imported the team home strip palette from NOSE, but the center ice logo still looks funky, using colors not even found in the palette. Any help is appreciated, I have attached screenshots below. Thanks

Thanks Have you imported a png image (or otherwise) over the logo or is that an existing logo in your TM photo? Judging from the pic of the rink you posted it appears that your using swos's rom for your edit? I'm not sure how far you are along with your project but it's advisable to use wboy's 30 team rom template with the graphics decompressed. I used it for my NHL '91 edit and it makes editing logos player cards intro screens etc a breeze.
wboy
Make sure you specify the byte order as Motorola when you import the 16 colors from the decimal offset in TM's Palette Import dialog. Also, save the rom in NOSE, lookup the decimal offset of the teams home strip and then immediately load that in TM to see if it appears as expected. Just incase changed rosters has changed the offset since you last saved....???? If you are still stuck, attach the logo you are trying to add just for curiosities sake. PS. Clockwise, no probs with using swos's recent NHL07 rom as it too is now based on the 30 team rom template.
KAMAKAZIE
I was messing around with this and I am wondering how come I cant enter letters into the offset when I try to import the palette. It will only let me type numbers.

My bad I wasn't aware of that. Spike, Don't forget to set the team pallet size to 480 or you won't be able to cycle home / away. I was messing around with this and I am wondering how come I cant enter letters into the offset when I try to import the palette. It will only let me type numbers. Tile molester doesn't support the loading of pallets in hex only decimal. To get the decimal pallet for a team(s) in NOSE go to options> offset> decimal. Or CTRL + D. SunnydaleSpike
Below is the file I have trying to use as the center logo. Maybe the problem is in that? Wboy and Clockwise- I double checked on all your suggestions and I have all of that stuff correct.

Maybe the problem is in that?Wboy and Clockwise- I double checked on all your suggestions and I have all of that stuff correct. Load the rom in gens. with the rink/center logo in screen, select CPU > Debug > Genesis VDP. Scroll down the VDP pattern by using the [ + ] on the numpad until you find your logo tiles. Press the numpad [ * ] key to cycle the loaded palettes. You should only need to press it twice to get to the 3rd palette, being the home team strip colors. Are the tiles showing their their correct colors now? Which palette is being used to match what you are seeing? I'm guessing the second (second half of the rink palette used for the crowd etc.). Note, to cycle back to the 1st VDP palette (after the fourth), you'll need to hit the [ * ] 11 times. Which exact roms of swos's did you use originally? SunnydaleSpike
Thanks for the help fellows. I have finished all of the rink logos. Does anyone have suggestion for changing the overall ratings of each team? Most of the info I can find is 26 team '94 based, is the 30 team ROM (which I am now using) any different? Some of my teams are showing odd ratings such as "; 7"

The data should live just before where the team roster data exists towards the end of the rom data. 00 for team 1, 01 for team 2, 02 for team 3 etc... change to the desired hex (decimal equivalent) value. SunnydaleSpike
That did it. Thanks clockwise. Does anyone know how the game determines which six player cards to display/rotate on the main menu? I would like it to be the top line for each team but can only get a *seemingly* random assortment. clockwise
How did you solve the issue? I'm having the same problem with the rink logos. Swos changed the pallet for the logo tiles, they need to be switched so they will match with your uniforms. Change the following hex: 0x0005AA52: 21AE to 41AE 0x0005AA54: 21AF to 41AF 0x0005AA56: 21B0 to 41B0 0x0005AA58: 21B1 to 41B1 0x0005AA5A: 21B2 to 41B2 0x0005AA5C: 21B3 to 41B3 0x0005AAB2: 21B4 to 41B4 0x0005AAB4: 21B5 to 41B5 0x0005AAB6: 21B6 to 41B6 0x0005AAB8: 21B7 to 41B7 0x0005AABA: 21B8 to 41B8 0x0005AABC: 21B9 to 41B9 0x0005AB12: 21BA to 41BA 0x0005AB14: 21BB to 41BB 0x0005AB16: 21BC to 41BC 0x0005AB18: 21BD to 41BD 0x0005AB1A: 21BE to 41BE 0x0005AB1C: 21BF to 41BF 0x0005AB72: 21C0 to 41C0 0x0005AB74: 21C1 to 41C1 0x0005AB76: 21C2 to 41C2 0x0005AB78: 21C3 to 41C3 0x0005AB7A: 21C4 to 41C4 0x0005AB7C: 21C5 to 41C5

refuse
Hey, the hex in the left column didn't correspond perfectly to that list, which made me start by overwriting 0x0005AA56: 21B0 to 41AE of course it ended up like this: I realised the error and put in the hex according to the list, disregarding the hex didnt match the left side of the list. It ened up screwing up all my logos. tiles were all over the place and a players head seemed to sneak in as well... I thought what the hell and edited the hex one more time, starting on the first offset by putting in 41B0. ------------------------------- 0x0005AA52: 21B0 to 41B0 0x0005AA54: 21B1 to 41B1 0x0005AA56: 21B2 to 41B2 0x0005AA58: 21B3 to 41B3 0x0005AA5A: 21B4 to 41B4 0x0005AA5C: 21B5 to 41B5 0x0005AAB2: 21B6 to 41B6 0x0005AAB4: 21B7 to 41B7 0x0005AAB6: 21B8 to 41B8 0x0005AAB8: 21B9 to 41B9 0x0005AABA: 21BA to 41BA 0x0005AABC: 21BB to 41BB 0x0005AB12: 21BC to 41BC 0x0005AB14: 21BD to 41BD 0x0005AB16: 21BE to 41BE 0x0005AB18: 21BF to 41BF 0x0005AB1A: 21C0 to 41C0 0x0005AB1C: 21C1 to 41C1 0x0005AB72: 21C2 to 41C2 0x0005AB74: 21C3 to 41C3 0x0005AB76: 21C4 to 41C4 0x0005AB78: 21C5 to 41C5 0x0005AB7A: 21C6 to 41C6 0x0005AB7C: 21C7 to 41C7 -------------------------------- Result: Naturally I should have realized that there was a slight mismatch when I first put in the hex, but I was so eager to get started! Just thought I'd share this change if anyone else has a problem with these and thanks again for the help clockwise!
