Glad to see you back!  I’ve enjoyed some of yours and Naples files in the past.  Good work!

Thank you!  I appreciate you stopping by and sharing your kind words.  Like yourself, I enjoyed Naples roms as well.  Thanks for giving mine a try as well!

Hey Sauce!  I just saw some other posts about roms having some freezing issues.  Just a heads up, I was recently playing playoff mode with yours and the game froze after the 2nd round.  I kinda remember it happening with one of your other versions a couple of months ago but it was random.  Meaning, I would play another series and it didn’t freeze.  I  started using retroarch, this year, so I’m not sure if that’s the cause or if you had heard anything about it happening.  But since I have seen some others post, I wanted to let you know as well.  Thanks for your great roms!  Look forward to your playoff version!

I haven't heard about it happening in playoff mode before.  Maybe it was a fluke as you suggested it was random for you.  I do use retroarch but mostly for exi's so I can't say I have seen this happen before.  That said, perhaps consider re-downloading RA to see if that helps as you may not have the latest version.  But, if it is random, unfortunately, I don't believe that I can be of much help in troubleshooting it.

Thanks Sauce!  I decided to re-download it and so far it has been working nicely.  Not sure that is the reason but don’t want to question why either.  So far, so good!

I had the same thing happen with retroarch.  It happened a month or so ago but only once.  I didn’t redownload anything because it was just the once.  I’ve played 2 or 3 playoffs since and no issues.  I’m guessing it’s a strange, random retroarch thing.

Final/playoff versions are nearly fully baked in the oven... will have them posted by this weekend if not sooner.

Mental note for next seasons release. Jet greaves is the #1 goalie for Columbus. Dude is a straight up savage.

Depends if Elvis is still there or not...they are more financially committed to him and he was decent this year.  I've seen many "Greaves" goalie types in the past.  They get called up and make a short term splash but then fizzle the next year.  Ask Ottawa fans about the "Hamburgular."

But, FWIW, I made Greaves the backup in my latest version of my rom (which will be posted soon).  He can be used as you see fit.  :)

Hi All - I have posted the final versions of my 2024-25 season ROMs (UHC and Mammoth versions).  I have updated the files to have this year's playoffs brackets.  I also included brackets for the 16 teams that didn't make it (aka - "The Golf Course Brackets").  I kept the original "regional brackets" as mentioned in the OP as some folks have enjoyed them.  So, there are several scenarios/options for users.

I updated the players and added a few returning players and, some notable rookies.  I did not add Gabriel Landeskog to Colorado.  It was nice to see him play an AHL game (after such a long absence) but as his immediate future is uncertain at the moment, I left him out.

For more details on the ROMs, please see the original post.  Make sure, if you are interested in downloading the ROM(s), to download one noted as "
Playoffs Version."

If you notice any mistakes (jersey numbers, handedness, spelling, etc.), please feel free to let me know.

Lastly, thank you to everyone who downloaded the file, shared feedback or just stopped by to say a kind word or two.  I appreciate it!

Cheers!

Columbus can save like 4 million by buying Elvis out. If they are serious about winning he has to go. Can't let his ego fracture the locker room if his feelings get hurt because he gets moved to backup.

But yes thanks for putting jet in there.

Great job Sauce!  Even though the Flames missed the playoffs, in real life, I’m still looking forward to playing to playing some playoff games with your rom!  Thanks for posting this so quickly!

This is great!  My friends and I have been enjoying your playoff edition all day today!  One of them had discovered some of your other work through YouTube and told the rest of us about it.  Thanks for posting it in time for the real NHL playoffs.  Makes playing it even more fun!  I see you have been doing a bunch all season long.  Mad respect and appreciation for your hard work and dedication!

Now it’s back to kicking A against my punk friends!

Well, they certainly have the cap space to do such a move (buying him out) and not be (very) hurt by it.  But, I'd still be surprised if they did go that route.

I was a bit bummed that the Blue Jackets didn't make it in this year given the JG tragedy and all.  However, they had a good season and have some solid players for their future.  I also think that Dean Evason (an NHL94 alum for those who didn't realize...) is an underrated coach who got a raw deal in Minnesota.  Given the injuries that the Jackets suffered, this year, it's impressive that they finished with a winning record and were in the wildcard hunt for quite some time.  Definitely a big step forward from the previous year from a team not expected to be much this year.  So, the future, if they add some solid pieces via free agency, could be bright!

Hi @BurntBiscuit94 @Flame4Life @Puck Defender!  Sorry for the delay in responding to your recent kind, and/or humorous, posts.  Been doing some traveling and didn't have a chance 'til now.  As for creating/posting a ROM next season, it's "TBD" right now as it is too early to know if I even can (availability wise).  I have some more traveling, both with my family and professionally, and work will be amping up due to certain seasonality.  That said, the future is uncertain at the moment and I don't want publicly commit and not come through.  So, for now, hopefully folks enjoy what I have already posted as well as the current (real life) NHL playoffs.

I appreciate those who stopped by with a kind word or two.  It wasn't my plan to even post this year but one thing led to another and I got talked into it and yada...yada...yada.  Tomorrow never knows.  :)

Understandable.  Hopefully, your schedule will allow you to post some more in the future.  Thanks for all you have done!

This is great!  Tried it on my handheld and laptop.  Looking forward to playing it on my TV next!

Edit:  the Yeti and Mammoth versions are cool!  Would be even cooler if they actually use the Mammoth name and you guessed right!

Thank you!  It's a rumored name so hopefully we'll find out soon enough.

All good Sauce!  Hope you do one next year but understand if you can’t.  I have a little one at home and know they take up a lot of attention.  Hopefully the Flames will be playoff bound, next year, with Wolf as our new number 1!  But for now I’m enjoying “pretending” in playoff mode.  I’ve also checked out some of your previous season roms which have been a fun flashback.

Dustin Wolf definitely seems like a very promising goalie.  While Macklin Celebrini was good this year, and often fun to watch, I think Wolf deserves to win the Calder Trophy.  He had more of an impact on, and for, his team.  TBD

My opinion but Hutson deserves it more because without him the Canadiens wouldn't have even made it close to the playoffs. He also broke records this season.
