That's very kind of you @nastynacho, but feel free to change your mind later. Doing a roster update is usually pretty quick and easy these days.

@dwyersp Thanks to the help of @McMarkis and others, this will be fixed in version 2.0! I just need to find time to wrap v2 up. It will ship in wide mode as default, with an optional patch to restore the original viewport.

I am wrapping up v2.0 right now now, and wondering how people would feel about the following change.

Right now the Play-Off matchups are limited to the real 2024 matchups, and the 2024 match-ups for the non-playoff teams.

In 2.0, I have included a patch that has the exact same match-ups, PLUS every single in-division match-up possibility. That gives you a 1/8 chance of getting the real play-off matchups, but will otherwise get a random inter-division match-up for each team. 

Should this be an optional patch, or would you prefer to have this as the new default?

@The Dopefish lol - I should have written that you are exempt from the vote, since your preference is already noted. To tell you the truth, I'm digging this more too. Unless there is strong objection, that will be the new normal. Thank-you for pushing me to do this, it was a good idea!

Thank you so much for making this.  I am a true OG who plays NHL25 flashed on a custom MD cart, on a vintage Genesis, on a CRT TV.  It plays great! I also vote for new default on the playoff matchups.  Also - fix Matty Beniers to #10 (He's #18 now).

@towlBwan_knalB Thanks for sharing! Awesome to get to see it on a CRT, damn that looks good in the photo. v2.0 is going out real soon, and I'll include Beniers fix, thanks for pointing it out!

Version 2.0 is now live on the front page! Wide display mode is now live, updated rosters and ratings, more play-off matchup possibilities, and graphical refinements.

Hehe, I was wondering if anyone would see the background stuff in my pic.  Sgt. Pepper coaster (from a whole Beatles set), Original 90s Rocketeer poster, vinyl on the table, grandma's old sewing machine, books, etc.  What can I say, I like the old stuff!  That's why I really appreciate that there are other people who love NHL '94 and update it.  I got really sick of DLC, client software, and just the general corporation plan of max profits, crappy product.    Peace to everyone here!

Made an account just to say this hack as well as the others that came before it are absolutely superb, I love playing these especially on my Switch. I also made an account specifically to request swapping Ethan Bear for Ivan Miroshnichenko on the Caps roster 😆

@Cobalon Thank-you so much!!! To be perfectly honest, my Lines are out of date. Fixing that is my #1 focus of my next update, to get them all realistic to real ice-time and line-up combinations this season. As long as Miroshnichenko is in the top 8 for ice time when I get to the next update, he *will* be in over Alexeyev Scarbossa. And yeah, Bear will be back in Hershey.

With the recent 2.0 I noticed Pettersson on Vancouver switcted from his real life #40 to #25, not a big deal but thought I’d mention it anyway, also I saw you mentioned your lines are out of date so I’ll put in a good word for Raty and Juulsen making the roster for next update and with Demko back in the line up I assume he’ll be #1 goalie by the time your next update rolls around.

Considering the COL SJS  trade today, I will likely issue a 2.1 update soon. Will double-check how exactly Elias Pettersson (F) got Elias Pettersson's (D) number right away. Furthermore, will start on that next roster update today with WSH & VAN. Hopefully I can squeeze them into the 2.1 update for ya.

As for Demko, not until it is super clear that he is the starter night after night. I've got a formula for that, will need to see him turn in some good starts before I make the switch. 

I have been playing Adam's versions for the past 3 seasons but the latest update made me create an account to say huge THANKS!! The widescreen mod is fantastic, the game plays awesome and the CRT filter on my Miyoo adds that little extra vintage touch!

All v2.1 update are done. Every team now has an updated roster, with minor line updates as well. Will do QA in the morning, probably get it out the door later tomorrow.

@AdamCatalyst All I can say this ROM hack is really well done and play amazingly well!  The wide screen is pretty good but it's definitely something I gotta get use too. My only really super nitpick is that the Canes home is still called PNC Arena instead of Lenovo Center, but otherwise this ROM hack is done Amazingly well especially since I play it on a phone! I can't wait to play the future updates! I also made a Google sheets of all the teams ratings for the first 2 versions of the ROM!

v2.1 is now live! Every roster has been updated, all user reported issues addressed.

still playing on 2.0 cause I have a playoff run going, ran into this after the power play ended and I checked someone at the same time. definitely says address error but I can't make out the other stuff. it did crash the emulator (rewind did nothing) but resetting still let it work properly
