My sincere apologies again for the oversight. Here is a replacement Classic Display Mode Patch, v1.3. There was an obvious (in hindsight) oversight in the v1.2 patch. Please let me know if this works better for you! If it's all good, I'll have to issue a new distro.

Thanks for this, and thanks for explaining the logic behind your lineups and roster updates, I’ll definitely keep that in mind for future updates. Was reading over your patch notes and was excited to try out the new physics for myself.
 

Unfortunately I got swept in the semis by SJ, just couldn’t get anything past Georgiev. Shots definitely feel a bit more snappier and and the dump ins have a more organic feel to them for sure, I usually do auto line changes but thanks to your new energy depletion, I was rolling my lines manually and dumping and chasing on the fly in between shifts.
 

Overall I really like the new physics even if they are subtle, it’s still noticeable to the point where the overall game has a more realistic feel and flow to it.  
 

I’ve been playing your Roms for the better part of a year now so it’s great to be here to see you continue to improve and expand upon this great game in so many new and creative ways. Thanks for keeping things fresh for us and as always keep up the fantastic work my friend!

@BigIron Thank-you so much for writing this. That's exactly what I was going for, not a revolution, but an evolution that felt more "organic." Thanks man.

BTW, if you want to see things a little more dramatically messed with, try "Ludicrous" mode. 

I've still got a short stack of other physics improvements on my to-do list, but who knows if I will ever be able to figure out how to execute them. I also *really* want to enable Line Changes without the puck, and get rid of goalies in the trapezoid, the latter of which I think I may know enough to try.

One quick question. I neglected to check how well Auto Line Changes was working with the new settings. Is the CPU keeping people out too long now? I might be able to tweak this.

Just an fyi, NOSE identifies this as a 30 team rom, so Washington and Winnipeg won't show up.

You're using an outdated version of it.

The only issue that I know that NOSE has with my ROMs is that it detects 0 bytes of free space per each team, making adding, removing, or renaming players very limited. If there was enough demand, I could write something to address this.

@AdamCatalyst I’ve noticed the CPU running their lines a bit longer but they are making changes on the fly as well but I suppose if you wanted it to be a bit more noticeable you could make some tweaks but either way I’m keeping an eye on the energy depletion a lot more while making adjustments to my lines manually this time around so thanks again for keep things fresh and interesting.

Stumbled onto this and have been playing the crap out of it lately. Great work all around. I have one question. Out of curiosity, it possible to mod the sound effects in the game? I ask because the rubber-y (I hope that makes sense 🤣) sound the puck makes hitting the boards has always bugged me and it might be fun to tinker with replacing it (if possible)

Would you look at that, a whole post in the forum about how to change/edit sound effects and music 🤣 my bad, should have searched first 🤦🏻‍♂️ Thanks! I have figured out some of it, like swapping the goal/end of period horns I saw someone suggest, this is going to be a fun little experiment

I just thought of another question. Is there a way to get the wide screen mod to work on the Genesis Plus GX Wide emulator in RetroArch or is it meant for the regular Genesis Plus GX set to 16:9?

The mod is meant for original hardware or any emulator that tries to imitate original hardware. Using it on the "Wide" emulator will probably bring some unwanted issues, but it may work. I'm pretty sure there is a thread around here of someone trying something like that, using an older version of the patch.

Be careful. I started out with the innocent desire to try to change the splash image to Auston Matthews for my brother-in-law. Then one thing led to another…

Well I was able to easily flip some of the audio but now, as I sit here watching the Sabres in their black thirds, I’m tempted to try making an “alternate jersey” version of the game with all the home jerseys as the teams thirds who have them 🤣 played an NCAA mod that has the center logos rotated too which is tempting

Changing jersey colour is easy and fun! The only gotcha is that you may end up screwing up the centre ice logos, which rely on the same colour palettes. Regardless make sure you check out some of the ROMs from other modders around here. Lots of different takes and variants.

When I test it, I can see Oskar Dansk, Niklas Kokko, etc. are all correctly showing up as left-handed goaltenders with their trappers on their right hands. Are you not seeing this?  Can you point out a specific goalie where it is not showing the correct hand use on the ice?
